- Ellrick, on 03/05/2009, -4/+59I find myself more shocked that the Genesis had a lightgun and I never knew.

................................... - Spamcan, on 03/05/2009, -4/+39If anything were to happen the police had snipers armed with Super Scopes waiting on the rooftops.
- dannykeene, on 03/05/2009, -4/+26was he going to make his getaway on the powerpad?
- imnojezus, on 03/05/2009, -0/+21To be fair, he had knives too.
- Spamcan, on 03/05/2009, -1/+18The light gun he used was for the Sega Master System, not the Genesis. The Genesis did have one called the Menacer but it was a clunker like the SNES Super Scope. The 16-bit generation robbed us of decent plastic firearms. :(
- Quicksilver4648, on 03/05/2009, -0/+13Fine, here you go. The origional page:

- MatzahMan, on 03/05/2009, -1/+10you douche, you stole my story
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Brazilian_Man_Holds_Woma ... - OgmoJump, on 03/05/2009, -1/+9Did anybody notice his fingers? He holds a light gun like my little brother used to; no accuracy.
- GarrettGrimsley, on 03/05/2009, -0/+8Buried as inaccurate, the man is clearly holding TWO knives.
- h4mx0r, on 03/05/2009, -0/+8Argh! You got me! x_x
- crazyhorse13, on 03/05/2009, -0/+7Saga?
- dromni, on 03/05/2009, -0/+7It *was* a regular hostage situation, since the guy also had a knife.
- BDLou, on 03/05/2009, -1/+7I wanted to make a "Genesis does! You can't do this on Nintendo!" joke, but that's the zapper for the Sega Master System. "Jungle Hunt" is all I've got...
- Arranmc182, on 03/05/2009, -1/+7i hope he knows the cord is cut
- crgnetworks, on 03/05/2009, -0/+6CRUISE CONTROL.
- PatchesOhulihan, on 03/05/2009, -1/+6Luckily the cops from "Lethal Enforcers" showed up to save the day.
- techobo, on 03/05/2009, -2/+7Coffee? Tea? SEGA!
- CanceledCzech, on 03/05/2009, -1/+6Hooray Beer!
- GregLoire, on 03/05/2009, -0/+4You could detach a few pieces from the Menacer to form a smaller handgun, if I remember correctly. It was still pretty clunky though.
- macmcraeart, on 03/05/2009, -4/+8that is so much better than om nom nom ever was.
- aforsberg, on 03/05/2009, -0/+3It really bothers me when people take the time to comment on allegedly stupid stories just to bitch about the 'good old days' of Digg. I miss all the tech stories, it's true. But honestly this IS a community driven site, and what we want gets to the front page. If you don't like it or think it is news-worthy, bury it and move on.
- KSUdesigner, on 03/05/2009, -1/+4This is on Digg today. What's your point?
- plainOldFool, on 03/05/2009, -1/+4But this was a hostage standoff ... not Duck Hunt.
- plainOldFool, on 03/05/2009, -0/+3Gizmodo is the new reddit?!?
- 33PercentGod, on 03/06/2009, -0/+2Don't Shoot The Civilian!
- babyflesheater, on 03/06/2009, -0/+2Go Master System!
- PatchesOhulihan, on 03/06/2009, -0/+2I agree. If you want nothing but tech, set up a Digg account, and filter out everything but tech stories.
- inactive, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2Let me take a guess, they will blame this on the violence in video games too.
I wonder if people that blame violence on Video Games and TV know that there was violence before video games and TV were invented - cawpin, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2I had a light gun for the Genesis and it wasn't a POS.
- Dabellah, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2The Menacer was clunky but the the games were fun. I enjoyed the Toejam and Earl tomato splat game :)
- Apocolypse007, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2I liked the game where you killed the bugs trying to get to the pizza.
- meekrob, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2The sad thing is that this Brazilian newspaper actually has a section entitled "Kidnapping".

RELOAD
RELOAD - aurorous, on 03/05/2009, -0/+2The Sega master system was actually a big hit in Brazil. As well as every other country nobody cared about. It was just Japan, America and western Europe where it flopped.
- DankNugzPlz, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1The automatic translation didn't seem to work too well. Only a couple of the captions for the pictures make any sense. For example, "Even on the street, a man 42 years of negotiating with police to the women. The sister of the attacker, who helped in the negotiations, said he has met and USA drug sentence for murder and robbery."
- whoreable, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1A Saiga would have worked better.
- ap1983, on 03/05/2009, -1/+2I'm appalled that this had to happen to the lady, but it couldn't have been my grandmother. She would have said, "peace, be still--cuz I got my piece of steal"
- ExSlashdotter, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1I'm pretty sure it was the master system gun that doug has.
And yeah, i still watch pure pwnage. RIP troy. - carshadfan, on 03/05/2009, -4/+5dugg for phaserpoint
- NOFXY, on 03/05/2009, -1/+2"Despite the threats, the Military Police said the man assaulted the victims did not need."
oh well thats good.. wait what the *****? - nett3, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1he's pro
- inactive, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1I didn't realize it was translated and kept reading the sentences over and over again going "WHAT???"
- Dragular, on 03/05/2009, -1/+2It's Google-translator, which is just slightly above the Babel Fish. However, I do have to agree that this made my day:
"...Military Police said the man assaulted the victims did not need."
DID NOT NEED! - Genobeam, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1Isn't that the gun that Doug uses in Pure Pwnage?
Does anyone still watch Pure Pwnage...? - inactive, on 03/05/2009, -1/+2that translation didn't make for much humor
- Raethar, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1lolwut?
