- TalaBAM, on 11/08/2007, -2/+178I would have to say the worst part is that he is dead.
- chewbacca77, on 11/06/2007, -7/+134The worst part is that he was actually complying with Sydney's water restrictions when he was killed.
- GRTWHT, on 11/05/2007, -2/+79Just a slight overreaction, you think?
- theMcPatriot, on 11/08/2007, -6/+63Yes, because I always carry my shotgun with me as a do yard work.
- Blydchyld, on 11/08/2007, -1/+40So your telling me that if some one poured water over you (or sprayed as in this case) you would beat them to the ground and kick them to death?
Please, go see your counselor. - Frostman3D, on 11/02/2007, -5/+41What a stupid ***** idiot. First, there's something called "RESPECTING YOUR ELDERS" that too few people know about these days, also, you never, every hit an older person. Jesus, this guy was just ***** stupid. I hope he gets a good 25-30 years to think about it.
- BlueScreenOD, on 11/05/2007, -4/+37Nah. Honestly, who HASN'T beaten en elderly man to death because they thought he wasn't complying with water restrictions?
- FriskDown, on 11/05/2007, -3/+34This reminds me of that scene in Fight Club when the guy is trying to pick a fight while he's hosing down the sidewalk, and the priest passes by...
Still, it's tragic and it sucks that the old man got beat to death for something so trivial. - Scira, on 11/05/2007, -4/+34An old person didn't guilt trip their kids into doing yard work? That should be the real story.
- pintomp3, on 11/05/2007, -4/+34me too. in fact that's how i do my yard work. i don't mow my lawn, i mow it down.
- pintomp3, on 11/02/2007, -1/+29"no, YOU get off your lawn!"
- calamnet, on 11/05/2007, -1/+28Why should he be fined if he was in compliance?
- mstoneburner, on 11/02/2007, -4/+27I can't believe what America has come to. Oh wai-
- markbrown, on 11/02/2007, -0/+22Christ, some people really should not be allowed in public.
- oldhick, on 11/05/2007, -0/+20Nice tough guy. Defending yourself against the deadly flow of a water hose is a important part of manhood.
- jthomp3120, on 11/05/2007, -3/+23What is the GODDAMNE FIRST RULE OF FIGHT CLUB?!
- woohhaa, on 11/05/2007, -7/+25You don't spray a man with a water hose unless you are prepared for a fight to the death.
Every man should know that... - Timmyftw, on 11/05/2007, -1/+15compliance is a difficult word to understand it seems
- slashbot, on 11/03/2007, -1/+15I didn't know the drought down under was *that* bad...
- inactive, on 11/02/2007, -3/+16GARBAGE DAY!
- Frei, on 11/07/2007, -1/+14The make him watch Crocodile Dundee 2 over and over for the next 80 years.
- techweenie1, on 11/08/2007, -10/+23with loonies rounding around that kill people for watering their lawn, maybe you should. Next time it could be you.
- mrferg, on 11/05/2007, -0/+12Oh no, I got some poisonous water on me, time for someone to DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111eleven
- inactive, on 11/02/2007, -6/+18Hardcore old man died for his right to water his grass. A moment of silence please.
- PaperMonkey, on 11/01/2007, -2/+14How about just respecting your fellow human beings? Why is everyone so anxious to hurt people these days? Jesus... I would _never_ think of hitting someone unless they were posing an actual threat to me or a member of my family and even then it would likely do little other than draw their attention to me because while I would get the first shot in I'm not a fighter so it's a safe bet that they would get the last shot in.
- Frei, on 11/01/2007, -0/+11Apparently there is a shortage of sarcasm in Australia too.
- KraftDinner101, on 11/02/2007, -1/+12Then life in prison should suffice. I'll sleep better knowing someone like that won't be walking the streets anymore. People like that don't deserve freedoms or rights.
- slashbot, on 11/02/2007, -0/+11It was a joke. That's why he added the Bush and Global Warming for kicks
- rtfizzle, on 11/01/2007, -1/+11It's news like this that just makes me sick. How could anyone live with themselves after beating an old man to death? Disgusting.
- GuacamoleSan, on 11/05/2007, -2/+12What could have possibly been the dude's problem with him?
- Timmyftw, on 11/02/2007, -0/+10last i checked on the news. the water reserves near me in sydney's west are well under 50%
- walkingdogs, on 11/05/2007, -2/+12Wow. So "assault" with water warrants "assault" with a fist? A little insecure are we? Did daddy leave you as a kid or something? go get help please. If not I hope somebody hands you your ass when you fly off the handle and teaches you a lesson you a are not soon to forget.
- KraftDinner101, on 11/05/2007, -0/+10No I didn't.
- Otto, on 11/05/2007, -0/+10Wow. Dude, I have been known to punch somebody in the nose from time to time when they deserved it, but hitting a 66 year old man and then kicking him for him spraying you with water is not one of those times.
Being sprayed with water only deserves rocks through his windows, at most, not a full on beatdown. Have a sense of perspective. - slashbot, on 11/01/2007, -1/+10Wow, even I didn't imagine that angle
- timlogsnow, on 11/05/2007, -2/+11definitely an overreaction. but then again, people get killed for the stupidest reasons
- tHePeOPle, on 11/05/2007, -2/+11This made me think of Homer trying to buy a gun.
GUN STORE GUY: 'There's a five day waiting period on the handgun.'
HOMER: 'Five days?' But I'm angry NOW!!!'
GUN STORE GUY: 'Yeah, well, that's the law.'
HOMER (grumpy): 'I'd kill you if I had my gun...' - tHePeOPle, on 11/05/2007, -1/+10Let's get him!
- tHePeOPle, on 11/05/2007, -0/+9It's the unwritten law of the suburbs...
- WolverineBlue, on 11/01/2007, -0/+9Little Jimmy would later reflect on the tragic irony of shouting "It wouldn't kill you to water your own stupid lawn!" then storming off.
- mstoneburner, on 11/01/2007, -4/+13I think the death penalty is more appropriate.
- FanofFilm, on 11/05/2007, -1/+10quick! bury him before anybody else finds out!
- jj9000, on 11/05/2007, -0/+8Achalemoipas, believe me, you have some serious issues here. 99.99% of the population would tell the old dude to eff off, and get on their way.
- Dax420, on 11/02/2007, -4/+12I hate that old "respect your elders" BS. Why should I respect someone for continuing to be alive, like that is such a hard thing these days. I respect people who deserve respect, people who show respect to me. I know a lot of "elders" who are not deserving of any respect.
- oldhick, on 11/01/2007, -1/+8Swing by anytime. I think I'm legelly able to water my lawn every sixth Thursday and fourth Tuesday between 2:15 and 2:25. If you can't make it one of those days, just knock and I'll fire the hose up anyway. ;)
First rule of hose fighting, no one ... - KanosWRX, on 11/01/2007, -0/+7Since when does getting sprayed with water then punching and kicking a man to the ground who is over 60 years old seem even remotely justified. That guy probably has issues and probably has a history of violence if he killed a man over a getting sprayed with water.
- Kookami, on 11/05/2007, -0/+7Ok, fair point. Maybe just a light tazing?
- inactive, on 11/01/2007, -4/+11I'm in ur lawnz beatin up ur elderz
- scabbers, on 11/01/2007, -2/+9Just for the record, if you hurl a waterballoon at me from your car, I will pull your heart out of your chest and eat it.
- inactive, on 11/01/2007, -0/+7Yeah, because the heart attack could not be brought on by getting beaten and kicked.
