- Travelsonic, on 08/15/2008, -7/+32002 called, it wants its response back.
Assholes like this aren't unlikely. I had a roommate in m Freshman year of college whom I denied room-for-sex privileges because I had to be up early for class, had a lot of work to get done, and needed sleep. (up to 4AM I would get kept up on these occasions). What happened? The bastard had sex in his bed, while I was trying to fall asleep. Needless to say, he never did that particular stunt again.
- angrycat, on 08/14/2008, -2/+178This is precisely why I name my wifi router "SORRY FOR THE LOUD SEX"
- ironeus, on 08/14/2008, -1/+18I hope it's encrypted with a strong key.

- SniperZero, on 08/15/2008, -17/+66Sigh this is why the courts are failing. Wasting time in stupid ***** up cases like this. Seriously if you choose to live in an apartment your going have to deal with noises. How about thinking before you move into a fkn apartment.
- Tomamama, on 08/15/2008, -1/+42A "***** apartment" indeed.
- drunkmonkey01, on 08/15/2008, -2/+47Did you read the article? I was thinking the same thing as you when I read the title, but it turns out to be a bit misleading...
"Residents of Norris's publicly owned home had been complaining since 2006 about thumping music, banging headboards and screamed obscenities, Taggart said."
I mean come on, I know there's gonna be noise in apartments but to continually annoy the crap out of everyone around you is just a dick move.- dmsean, on 08/15/2008, -0/+6exactly. You can have all the noisy sex you want. but that does not include banging on the walls and loud music.....
- xeo4ke, on 08/15/2008, -1/+5Sorry, but I'm siding with the "noisy" people. I live above a neighbor who has made complaints about us since we've moved in 2 years ago.
We make really no noise. Perhaps watch a movie and yes sometimes those have those moments where even you have to turn it down for a second. Or have sex yes. Can get loud.
But seriously, the lady that lives below us is just a lonely fat bitch and has nothing better to do but complain every time someone makes a peep.
There is no reason for the courts to step in on this. Don't like it. Move. I'm sure the other neighbors are enjoying themselves. - HtomSirveaux, on 08/16/2008, -0/+3Does the 'lonely, fat bitch' have a 6-year-old? Do you guys sun-bathe nude or yelling expletives at the top of your lungs like the article described? Loud sex when you KNOW other people can hear it is very rude and pretentious. After reading the details, I'd have to side with the courts. Living in an apartment works both ways.
You must respect other people's right to do what they please, but also not cross the line yourself.
Honestly I wouldn't go to the courts, though. I'd have some fun of my own like jamming gum in their mail box, downloading all the Rammstein, Barry Manilow, Daft Punk, Moody Blues, Nine Inch Nails, and gay porn I could with multiple sub-woofers faced down or taped to the ceiling/wall, depending on what neighbor they are, on full blast in the afternoon when you know they are sleeping when wifey has taken the kid for a walk, etc.
- howdareyou, on 08/15/2008, -2/+7What if you're not in an apartment but live in ***** City?
Gob: 52% of the country is single. That's a market that's been dominated by apartment rentals. Let's take some of that market. I call it "Single City."
Gob: It's, like, "Hey, you want to go down to the whirlpool?" "Yeah, I don't have a husband." I call it "Swing City."
Stan Sitwell: Let's get into some new areas, if you don't mind.
Gob: How do we filter out the teases? We don't let them in.
Gob: This goes for the guys, too. Because sometimes the guys are tapped out. But check your lease, man. Because you're living in [bleep] City.
Stan Sitwell: You're fired. - sailadayaway, on 08/15/2008, -1/+9Actually, I think the courts did fail. Barring the boyfriend probably won't make any difference in her behavior, perhaps the court should have been throwing HER out of the apartment...
- quisph, on 08/15/2008, -1/+6I'm sure you won't mind when I move next door to you and play The Macarena on a constant loop, day in and day out, for months at a time. If you do mind, maybe you should have thought of that before you moved into a house with neighbors.
No one is saying that they expect complete silence from their neighbors. But that doesn't mean that any and all noises, at any and all hours, are reasonable.
But it's a good thing we have people like you, who have obviously heard all of the facts of the case, to come here and let the rest of us know about how teh cortz r failin zomg!!- DuffyDirect, on 08/15/2008, -1/+3its public housing -- you're only allowed to live their by the grace of the taxpayer -- play by the rules or get out!
- gyrfalcon, on 08/15/2008, -3/+10It's just like Britain to do something completely asinine in an attempt to solve a simple problem...
Are they breaking a law? Then fine the crap out of them... If a neighbors dog is barking or they're playing loud music you call the cops and they get a warning or fine, possibly even a misdemeanor and jail time.
You don't BAN someone from visiting someone else unless you live in some @#$!@# up society that doesn't value personal liberty.

- crackedlogic, on 08/15/2008, -3/+1I read it. Churler is right, the court shouldn't be able to tell what company you are allowed to keep. If they wanted to punish the resident, then fines are the way to do it.

- Kenzan, on 08/15/2008, -0/+11Shouting at the top of your lungs, "SHOVE THE ***** CANTALOUPE DEEPER YOU SICK BASTARD!!!" doesn't really qualify that as "knowing how to *****."
- whoomp123, on 08/15/2008, -5/+2i would imagine that a landlord or any property owner has the right to ban anyone from entering their property.
- buddyfarr, on 08/15/2008, -1/+1depends on where they are at, (state, etc.), some laws in some states say that once the property is rented it becomes the property of the renter and the owner cannot stop them from having over whomever they wish. Just like in michigan it takes about 3 months to evict someone, well it used to a while back.

I am glad to see the neighbors practice as they preach.- homercles337, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7What are you talking about? Why are there so many reading comprehension challenged people in here? Mike Taggart is the Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman. What does the city council spokesman have to do with the neighbors practicing as they preach? And you got 19 diggs for this?
- HtomSirveaux, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1I and other people might agree that having loud, cursing sex in the middle of the day when you KNOW that children are around isn't normal or decent either. It's actually quite ***** up, I'd say, and I'd want that bitch evicted.

- hokie47, on 08/15/2008, -1/+9As long as it does not keep me up, the occasional women moaning sounds next door are hot. Sometimes my wife and I will compete against the neighbors.
- Platanoranger, on 08/15/2008, -1/+1I lived with my ex in the basement apartment of private house. The neighbor above was the homeowners daughter and husband. My ex had a voracious apetite for sex. 10 months after moving in the neighbors had a baby. Coincidence? I think not.
- Niightwitch, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2So you think the sounds you and your ex made were so hot that it caused the upstairs neighbors to ***** and have a child....do you have problems with ego much?
- HtomSirveaux, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1I'd hate to live below/above either of you.

- alwilson, on 08/15/2008, -5/+22Sometimes I blast porn over my speakers so that the neighbors will think I'm having sex. Maybe that's what these people are doing?
- TheR3dMenace, on 08/15/2008, -0/+9Best comment ive read all day
- Mr_Lyle, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1That sounded really clever when I first read it...until I realized that if I actually heard loud sex noises coming from someone's apartment, my first thought would be 'someone's watching porn' rather than 'someone's *****'...Let's be honest, I'd say the big majority of chicks out there don't make a *****' sound during sex other than the occasional low moans and heavy panting/medium moans while having an orgasm. Certainly nothing loud enough to keep any of the neighbors up. I realize there the occasional screamers out there, but they're the exception and not the rule. If I was hearing really loud sex noises coming from my neighbor's apartment, next day I'd tell them to turn the ***** porn volume down.
- alwilson, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1You are really over-thinking this.
- pEEpiNgtoM, on 08/15/2008, -7/+1I dont know why they banned me from my gf apartment, its complete bs

- ronaldinho, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1I don't know. Get your own house and you won't have to bother with the neighbors and government screaming for your head. When you live in public housing, you don't have as much freedom AND the government can step in
- chrisdjohnson, on 08/15/2008, -1/+1They need to stop complaining and start trying to figure out how to get a web cam in there.

Well there's the problem - no defensible property rights. This is a good reason why there shouldn't be 'publicly owned' homes.- Ravatar, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3They're invading the rights of others: such as the right to peace and quiet (especially at night). Hence they deserve to have their own rights restricted until they learn to respect others.
- synik, on 08/15/2008, -1/+2There should still be publically owned homes. The tenant always has the option of moving into a privately owned home.
- Ravatar, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1I think you miss the point of publically owned homes.
- synik, on 08/16/2008, -1/+1no, you miss the point. My country has a mix of public and private housing. It works alright.
- Ravatar, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1no, you miss the point.
Those in public housing rarely have the option of moving to a privately owned home (in the US at least). - hollering, on 08/18/2008, -1/+1You both missed my point.
