- gcnaddict, on 12/17/2008, -3/+23Buried as inaccurate. $ = dollars, not mahalo dollars.
The user got mahalo dollars, which (while they can be exchanged for real cash) forces the user to give up 25% of what he earned upon redeeming his funny money for unfunny money... so the poor kid only gets 75 bucks for all of his effort. - jfdolier, on 12/17/2008, -1/+20Dugg for Mahalo Answers. Just kidding, dugg for strippers.
- d2002, on 12/17/2008, -2/+10Ah strippers.... god bless America.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -1/+9Strippers FTW!
- Punisher2K, on 12/18/2008, -0/+7Nice ad. Buried
- phosphite, on 12/18/2008, -0/+6Strippers...one of the few recession-proof jobs!
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5Why did I waste my time reading this? Oh yeah, it had "strippers" in the description.
- aitoheiwa, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5Okay I had to go through the sign up process just to see if you were right and I was never asked for my email password. I was asked to enter my email and select a username and password, but those are NOT the same thing, so unless they changed that in the past two hours, the situation is not at all what you're making it out to be.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+4The $100 was given to the user in $1 bills and stuffed into their garter belt
- adml_shake, on 12/18/2008, -1/+5I'm sure Jason Calacanis well have a nice 15 minuet sound off about this when Leo asks him about it next time he's on TWIT.
- WoollyMittens, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2Lamest attempt at humour ever.
- j3one, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2I think part of the answer was post story to digg....
- sindex, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1well, if they wanted some attention, the biggest tip to date on Mahalo is one way to start. Hell, it's on Digg already. That's got to count for something. I can't imagine what, but SOMETHING, damn it! =)
- Kitarist, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2Now that would a nice job to have. Giving tips to strippers and get paid haha
- borez, on 12/18/2008, -2/+425% at a currency exchange is downright extortion.
- pmsyyz, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2So let's say someone answers 100 questions and receives a total of M$1000. When Mahalo cashes you out, they take 25%. Why? Well, they do run the website that you used to make that money. It does cost them money to run it. If you borrow someone's lawn mower and cut grass for cash should the lawn mower owner not get a share?
- shipwreck58, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1I like the part about strippers.
- jdawg, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2Hey Ricahard, that's for posting about this. We're having a discussion about Mahalo pumping tens of thousands of dollars into the Mahalo Answer economy right now.
http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-commu ...
From where I sit it's better for us to pump in some Mahalo Dollars--that users can cash out--then give the money to a PR firm or to buy banner ads! The best way for folks to see the power of Mahalo Answers is to ask a question with a tip on it. So, we're giving a bunch of folks a M$5 coupon to go spend money in the system.
I think that's a GREAT idea. Why would anyone be against it? - gijoe86, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1Quick! Someone forward this to Obama!
- pmsyyz, on 12/23/2008, -0/+1I guess the alternative way to do it is to take %25 of the tip when the tip is given to the user and then pay out via PayPal the full user balance. This would be more clear about what the money is for. People wouldn't think it was a moneychanging or exchange rate fee.
- FXNGLAS, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1They hit the Mahalo Lottery alright!
- biohazd, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1So the stripper method is like the Mystery Method but for women?
- richeemxx, on 12/23/2008, -0/+1Mahalo is using this as a play to make money, nothing more than that. They say they are funneling cash into the system but that is total BS.

http://budgallant.wordpress.com/2008/12/22/mahalo- ... - DwayneCamacho, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Even the addition of strippers can't outweigh the fact that Calacanis is an idiot, and mahalo is a wikipedia clone high end adsense scraper that was used to dupe VC's out of boatloads of cash.
- falser, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1Get you damn hands off ma halo 3!
- jeremyduffy, on 12/18/2008, -8/+8Mahalo is one of those ***** sites that asks you for your e-mail address and e-mail PASSWORD!!! Don't EVER give out your e-mail address password and any company that pushes people to provide it should disappear.
- WoollyMittens, on 12/18/2008, -3/+2For those who don't know, TWIT stands for "This Weak Informercial Talk".

What is Digg?
