- PATSCRU, on 10/10/2007, -6/+12I personally think the lighting is cheesy and makes everything look like a bad America's Most Wanted dramatization, but to each his own.

- kkeith02, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Great shots, some of those cars are in decent shape, they'd be worth a lot to fix up.
- rowlodge, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3so visit a junkyard an have a great time on your next vacation!
- DJFMA, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4For some reason I was reminded of the Fallout RPG's when I saw some of those... hmmm.
- pencilneck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2So the key to taking photos of junk yard cars is green and magenta gels on the strobes? Seems easy.
- baroo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2well done!
- TomRemixed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2ever heard about trying duggmirror before you post?
- GooksBirman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4in my opinion, the lighting sucks. it makes everything really bright like some 50's movie. you can't really tell how creepy these places really are when they have neon lighting. www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com
- mojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3They're speed holes.

- peterpeterpan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0painting with light has its place, but the colors are just a little far for me.
- beavioso, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Personally I don't like the lighting in these shots. It's done well, but it feels too Dick Tracy. I'd like to see the original in daylight.
- seancurran, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I've been to that Aircraft bone yard. I like these pictures better though. You should see the saw they use to cut a plane in half
- jauderho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I've seen quite a bit of his work and it's impressive. I'm not sure that I would use colored light all the time. Here are some of mine.

- Phocion55, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1There's something in pictures of the Salton Sea that always captivates me....
- corvairkid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0HIs "shoot on sight" junkyard is something I've run into several times while looking for old vehicles. After talking to most of the owners, they say they spread the rumor as more of a deterrent for people who want to steal parts (mostly hard to find trim & emblems), break glass, or just generally wreck the cars. People whose attitude is along the lines of "They're in a junkyard so they're junk and I can wreck it, right?"
The other thing I run into is people who are sitting on a potential gold mine of classic cars and yet won't part with a single one. A trick that does sometimes work is to ask the owner if he has a favorite and offer to fix it up in exchange for one or more of his other cars. I know a mechanic in my home town who's gotten his hands on a few otherwise unobtainable cars by using this method. - philmcgarr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Sweet that's my cousin Troy! Nice work cuz.

- PATSCRU, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4I personally think the lighting is cheesy and makes the shots look like a bad America's most wanted dramatization. The subjects are cool enough that they could have stood alone without the sci-fi cheese.
- disco5896, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0Wow - those should be on iStockphoto.com.
