- canewediggit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+97and if any of you guys stumble on a memory card full of 2 year old photos from brasil, i'd really appreciate it back. additional bonus if you beat up the guy that stole my camera to get it.
- leftnut, on 10/11/2007, -11/+76Great, now digg is the web's new lost and found.
By the way, I left my red-hooded Spiderman windbreaker in class last week and can't find it. Anyone seen it?
All sarcasm aside, I hope it works. - mvandemar, on 10/11/2007, -11/+61Pics or it didn't...
Wait, nevermind. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+39"There is a camera serial number in there however: 620529733."
Have you tried contacting Canon to see if they will check to see if he registered his Rebel XTs serial number? They do have a registration process and may be willing to contact the owner for you.

- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27How are you going to tell the fake people from the actual owner?
- theMurdocVolta, on 10/11/2007, -4/+28I'm not entirely sure what the point of that was, so I'm just going to tell you No.
- sockpuppets, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23grammer? It's grammar, fool. Talk about self-ownage.
- neuros, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26LOST: 2GB SD card full of naked photos of my fiancee. Just uh, put them up on the webs if you find it.
Seriously.
(hunny, if you're reading this, I'm kidding) - dclowd9901, on 10/11/2007, -5/+23If you find my pictures of Sasquatch, I'd really appreciate them back. A couple of guys in a black Lincoln took them away from me almost immediately after I took them. They said that they were from Walgreens. I knew I shouldn't trust Walgreens.
- sockpuppets, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18A/S/L?
- manicallday, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14This is a really cool idea. Maybe we could come up with some type of id system that can be used across various social networks. This way we all can get into crazy adventures and solve mysteries together. We can be the electronic version of the A-Team.
- guive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14The picture is form my boyfriend! he was in Portugal ? He must have gone back to that portuguese b... he told me he was spending a few days with his parents in center of france.
I am gonna kill him - davidrools, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12As lame as that sounds...I'd wanna join.

- BlobFisk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Yup, that's where Eric put the example pictures for people to see!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Dugg this story just because it is a cool idea to try to use the site to help someone like this.
- webcure, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9They aren't mine, but I like your style BlobFisk!!
- Digitalfilm43, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10The Internet...Kind of scary what you can do.
- Vexion, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Correction correction: Series of tubes.
- pbaehr, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12Just in, CBS announces a new prime-time drama, CSI: Crowdsource.
- jayoinoz, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11not a waste of time for the owner (if they get it).
- maabus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9If anyone finds any photos of a bunch of naked chicks flashing the camera, they are probably mine. So get in touch with me and we can figure out how you can return them to me.
Oh, and good luck to everyone at blobfisk. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Dugg for support of the right thing to do!
- jennamalia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"wow, you just posted your phone number on digg, not only your phone number but your email too."
uhhh, no. someone's phone number and someone's e-mail. been internetting long? - spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7This is a perfect example of why having the edit time limit and no delete option is so stupid.
- radix33, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Uh huh... we all register our products with the manufacturer, hoping they will share that info with affiliates for product "offers".
NOT. - vuzman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Inspired by this story, I just created a text file with my contact info and put it on my memory cards. In the event that I lose them (and someone as nice as BlobFisk finds them), it will be easy to find the right owner.
- BlobFisk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Sorry, my site is taking a pounding!
Two example pictures are here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8713583@N06/530857668/
And you can email us if you know the person or it's you (!) on: photosfoundinportugal@gmail.com
Cheers!
Alex - davidrools, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6From blobfisk's sig:
"I am currently is Senior User Interface Engineer at Tideway Systems Limited."
you can draw your own conclusions. - dodadigg, on 10/11/2007, -8/+11Good luck with trying to find this guy!
- ap0c, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3DUDE!! those are Peter Sarsgaard's pictures!!!

Suck that, absolutes! - popltree2, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8correction correction correction: Not a dump truck.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Maybe We should try and pull the embedded photo information from the photo tags.
- Sil369, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Wow, that's a good idea to do... (seriously)
- vuzman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What about putting a text file with contact info on the memory card? In the event that it's lost (and someone as nice as BlobFisk finds it), it will be easy to find the right owner.
While this doesn't do much for any already lost card, it's a good way to improve the chances that a lost card is returned. - vuzman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3"Alex Horstmann is Irish, which should be quite obvious from the name."
If you said German instead of Irish, you would be correct... ;) - maybeinoregon, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5BlobFisk gets the good guy of the day award!
Brings up another point - maybe there is a demand for this kind of thing - maybe Kodak could put a tab on their site so people could upload a couple of samples of pics on the memory card or something, with contact info - - barnis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2memory card tip...buy a sharpee
- epsilona01, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Agreed. I say +1 Funny for getting his own site Dugg into oblivion. (was down as soon as I saw it hit the front page)
- ksong12, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Wow, now this is interesting. Awesome idea!
But perhaps we should get the site back first, no? - vcleniuk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Touristas...
just sayin... - seattlephantom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That's the point...he probably didn't notice. Secondly, unless it was highly important/sensitive information I would never think to go to the authorities over my lame attempt to be a professional photographer.
- nigh7dagger, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3@jayoinoz (#7028353)
Not to mention this is a great experiment. What if someone made a website where you uploaded photos from memory cards you find.
Oh, *****, I better send that off to the patent office. - crossmr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Would you like me to draw you a picture?
My point was simple, he submits the photos under an altruistic scenario which gets dugg, when in reality no one found the pictures and its just some art project he's working on and he's hoping if it gets popular someone who could perhaps sign him on to something might come across it. - guitarh3ro, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hey, I was looking for those! I knew I had misplaced them...
