- Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -8/+73Actually, Snape killed Dumbledore to gain Voldemort's trust. Snape didn't want to do this, which is why they argued in the woods. Dumbledore was actually pleading for Snape to kill him, not to spare his life. In the end, instead of eliminating each other like is expected, Harry finds that Voldemort is a flaming homosexual and pursues a relationship.
The end. - mcvetyty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+58Kids????? Please... I am pretty sure more adults are interested in this news than kids, me being one of them.
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -5/+49That reminds me, I need to make up a convincing-sounding spoiler to yell at people in line.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42we can see that.
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35
Harry wakes up and the whole series was just a dream... - jetsetgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34So you have three copies then?
- Tygell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Not a single person in these comments has said that. Stop projecting your homosexual pedophilia on others.
- LJRod82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31Yeah, those books have done horrible things to people and the youth of today. You know what I saw when the last book came out? Children waiting in line with their parents, having a good time, in front of a book store. A book store! Can you believe it? There were kids in today's video game age that were waiting in line for a book. What's worse is that they all looked like they were encouraged to read said book. Good God, what is this world coming to?!?
Seriously, shut up.
BTW, well said Tygell. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33Well I learned my lesson last time; I'm going to have to simply avoid the internet entirely until I finish this book.
- geekchic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24On July 20th, millions of kids will get no sleep as they wait outside bookshops for midnight to arrive.
- markperia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21dude thats Lion King.
- blork1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Maybe as that would be akin to releasing a book on September 11th? Especially as J.K. Rowling is, obviously, English.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7/7 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20#1 Nobody cares, #2 Nobody cares, #3 You're a douche.
- Tygell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Oh my god, you're absolutely right! You put forth a thought provoking argument based entirely on verifiable facts. I've obviously been wasting my time on the HP series so far. I'm going to go to the bookstore right now and burn the heathen place down.
Idiot. - EclecticShadow, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25I'm off to edit wikipedia.
- displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19too bad it's not going to be released on 7.7.07, that's wonderfully magical
- OwdenBowden, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20If you strike me down Voldermort, I shall return more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
- ravenly, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24I will be one of those people. I can't wait!
- endtime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"Whoaa....look at me...I'm COOL because I don't like Harry Potter...and Halo was *amazing*...and I don't wear deodorant..."
Seriously...shut the ***** up. - nicpedersen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Hermoine gets naked i hear. Thats gonna be a hot read
- cutechimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11And you may consider Saturday as the 7th day of the week, too. I wonder why they have to push it two weeks back. It would have been a really nice marketing gimmick, as if they need one.
- Ellsass, on 11/05/2008, -0/+107/21/07 is the 10th anniversary of the first book's publishing.
- SloppyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10There are these things that have.... Pages in them.. on the pages are words.. They're called books.. and contrary to popular belief, they're better than movies. Daniel Radcliffe has nothing to do with the release of the book.. shut it.
- Oldschoolhack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I can see it now...
Voldemort and Harry 1 on 1.... then....
*Flash*
Hiro with his sword raised and Voldemorts head on the floor. Save the muggles, save the world! - MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+10Your excitement is so genuine I'm not even going to digg you down for a useless comment.
- dankoleary, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Snape Kills Dumbledore..... again.
I'm sorry. - Drahkar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9All I can point is this. Say what you want about this book series. J.K. Rowling has obtained through it more money than any of you will likely ever see.
So you may mock the books, that doesn't change the fact that they sold well and she's rich. 'Elitism' never sells books and I doubt any of you will ever reach the financial level she has sitting in Internet forums making fun of things. - saska, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I took my then-4-year-old to the midnight release of Book 6 and he had a riotous good time. I'm afraid I'm going to have to hide this news from him for as long as possible to avoid answering the question "How many days until the Harry Potter party?" each morning. Of course, he hasn't read the books -- those are for me.
- endtime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Are you calling him a young lesbian? Weird insult...
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I'll read it, but I won't go out at midnight to get it...
- Umberhulk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9blah blah blah ..... scar.
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Attractiveness is purely subjective. What one finds beautiful, another will find hideous. You may want to learn the difference between fact and opinion. As a straight male, I don't have much of an opinion on Radcliffe's attractiveness, and I also don't give two flying ***** one way or another what you think about it. All I know for sure is that you have a massive chip on your shoulder, and it makes you come off like a real dick.
- JimXugle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Obviously incorrect yet plausible spoiler to shout at kids in line:
Voldemort and Harry kill each other, the war wages on, Ron turns out to be gay, Hermione gets knocked up, Hogwarts burns down, muggle fire department responds, magical world revealed to muggles, mass panic ensues. The End. - drmangrum, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I don't even read the books and i know he's going after the chinese chick. Ron gets Hermoine. Lucky bastard.
- EclecticShadow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8That will be the day we will make our move!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - Puttockc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6surprise, Voldomort did not kill harry's father, he is harry's father!
the other guy is his adopted father
harry goes crazy and kills his friends
Cheers - FullMetalMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Harry's going to die trying to kill Voldemort, and then as Voldemort declares victory Harry will come-back to life and kill him.
- Changa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6
Dumbledore lives! - drmangrum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Is that the first day of sale or all time. if it's all time, it makes sense, first book has been out 10 years. Kinda like how the Bible is best selling book of all time, damn thing has been in print for over 1000 years.
- nicpedersen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Snape is obviously good
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Better story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6320733.stm
- displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10I'm excited
- jetsetgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Harry goes pedo. How old is Ginny anyway?
- Zabbawack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Harry hooks up w/ Jenny
- sk8asd123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They're fun. Plain and simple.
- displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I bet that's what the execs over at WB where thinking, but I think that no matter what order the movie and book appear in, one would drive sales for the other.
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Consider them as "gateway" books. THey aren't the most original fiction you'll ever find, but show far more imagination and heart than the majority of ***** put out for kids these days. Once hooked, kids (and adults likewise) will look for other good stuff to read while awaiting the next one, and thus get turned on to more and more great stuff.
As a child, I was as fanatical about John Bellairs as many kids are over Rowling. Looking back, those books were pretty formulaic and repetitive, but the simple fact that they were able to engage my young mind and provide me with the hunger for more books makes them an invaluable part of my growth as a human being. There's no use in being stuck up about it, let kids find the inspiration they need in whatever form captures their imagination. After all, who the hell are you to judge? You like what you like, others mileage will vary. - LostOnion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6This one is going to be called "Harry Potter and the Nocturnal Emission".
- thejwac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Harry's birthday is not July 21, it is July 31 1980.
- Quidam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Can't believe the series is almost over... :(
