- wassamatta, on 04/24/2009, -3/+221.21 gigawatts? 1.21 gigawatts? Great Scott!

- RichMUrrills, on 04/23/2009, -8/+19"Faraday cage - like a see-through Dalek"
Nice to see the Daily Fail going for the scientific description of the Faraday Cage there.....
/facepalm - DonCreech, on 04/24/2009, -0/+8This is how superheroes are created. Probably a lot of supervillains, too.
- Tesladownunder, on 04/24/2009, -0/+8The 2500 pixel original is here.
http://tesladownunder.com/ModernThinker.htm - digrboi, on 04/24/2009, -1/+9...this has sparked my interest
- Megatronz, on 04/24/2009, -0/+7lol Dalek reference.
- Totalsam, on 04/24/2009, -3/+10Shocking. Simply shocking.
- DavidTurnbull, on 04/24/2009, -1/+7It is rather shocking that something could spark such madness.
- Tesladownunder, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6The original pics and lots more are on www.tesladownunder.com with all the construction details.
- LoneWolf01, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6That wasn't it.
- HiVoltRock, on 04/23/2009, -2/+7Even with safeguards in place that takes some balls
- L33tmaster, on 04/24/2009, -1/+6I'm just amped to see something this shocking. A great spark of genius, but if things had gone wrong, the result would've been re-volting.
- bluepill2, on 04/24/2009, -1/+5Someone teach this man Photoshop!!
- Tesladownunder, on 04/24/2009, -0/+4Picture makes your hair stand on end? Ummm.. possibly. But the high voltage doesn't as it is radio frequency from a Tesla coil, not DC like a van der Graaff gen.
Really completely painless, but the sparks were burning my shoe and I had to wriggle my toes so got a little foot motion blur in the 15 second exposure in some of the later photos.
First time you do this is a bit creepy... have I covered completely everything or am I going to get a zap that will throw me to the ground in agony? After a few times though with no problems you can go back to using ordinary balls... - Frozo, on 04/24/2009, -0/+4There is a time and a place for a Doctor Who reference.
- alpineswirl, on 04/24/2009, -0/+4I wish I could see more details, I swear the enlarge button only adds a handful of pixels to the height and width.
- phenom2k7, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Is his shoe melting in the first picture?
- paksman, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3he got conductor balls of steel.
- ElbowGeek, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Are you sure that's not Phil Spectre's latest hair do?
- serif69, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Because you're just as amped as I am about puns.
- ZeroCubed, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3nah, he did a pretty good job with the puns.
- eadnams, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Well done, very cool, I love the research you did for the conductors.
- pak314, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2They use a high frequency voltage source. With high frequency there is something called the "skin effect" when most of the current passes through the surface of the object. Thus not much will pass through the heart.
- bitterbug, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Because Resistance is futile. Watt else can you do?
- abrasion, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Crazy ***** but it paid off, pretty neat snap.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -3/+4wow! looks impressive!
- copypastry, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1That guy is thinking WAY too hard.
- GB570, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1I don't think I would want to do that..
- miketest, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1The picture with his shoe in it looks like a waterfall. :-p
- r0g3r, on 04/24/2009, -3/+4It's actually a picture of emperor Palpatine getting ready to fry someone with his foot.
- amabaie, on 04/23/2009, -2/+3Like at the Ontario Science Center...only a lot more so!
- sindex, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2"He was also only protected from painful death by electrocution by a layer of cheap builders' foil."
That and really low amperage. - asgardshill, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2Yeah, that's pretty much nuts right there. (Or was that the wizard Tasering thread?)
- deadasdisco, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2that is ***** awesome.
- inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Technically, it's any time and place as long as you know how to operate a TARDIS.
- kaosethema, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1tesla did it!!
- OptionalPirate, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1The change in you is goddamn electric!
- drakelord, on 04/24/2009, -0/+125 mA is enough to kill you.
- inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Tesla and You.
- eadnams, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1The creator was the one that used that image, its on his site:
http://tesladownunder.com/ModernThinker.htm
"I have used a Faraday cage before (the popular Dalek cage) but I wanted something more direct. " - ZeroCubed, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1"I could have done that"
"Yeah, but WOULD you?"
art+balls = win - MeccaYdna, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1...at virtually-unlimited voltage. The thing is there's always a limit based on whatever's supplying the power, most of the time it's less than you need to get fibrillated.
- MeccaYdna, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1It's the amps that get you!
- billski, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1jigawatts*
- surf3com, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Simply Amazing!!!!
- db0255, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Let's make sure we're all on the same page here.
He has 500,000 VOLTS of electricity shooting through him.
This doesn't give any inkling to the amount of shock that he is ACTUALLY getting because that has to do with AMPS.
Still looks BAD ASS. - thebasshacker, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Please tell I'm not the only person to notice the naked chick on the right. Seriously people, there are bare F cups on the right waiting to be clicked on.
