- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42No digg because this is super old and it doesn't "Tell you if your house is haunted" but this one is hilarious.
"Bloomington - Indiana University Bloomington - The Career Center - Indiana University is said to be haunted by the ghosts of aborted children. A doctor supposedly performed illegal abortions there many years ago. "
I'd like to see that. Do they slime around the halls or something? - The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33I have a feeling the hauntings aren't really heavily researched.
FTA: "Duluth - Spirit Mountain - some person died on this ski hill and one night me and my friends went sledding down the snowboard park and at the bottom there is a announcer stand and over the speakers they play music on the speakers when the place is closed and me and my friends herd the shed hissing at us and when we went down passed the shed we saw someone standing in the shed." - jocnnor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27No. The baby ghosts sit infront of PS3s and cry.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Doubt it's researched at all :)
England - Birmingham - Kangs discount store
"many people have believed to see a lollypop walking out of the shop on it's own." - migs87, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Didn't you also do alot of ACID while sledding?
- rtakach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13"Dearborn Heights - Crestwood Computer Lab - Computer number 25 is definitely haunted by an old senior who didn't not graduate because he failed computers. Now the computer acts up and any senior who sits at that computer passes with an 'A'. All the work is already done. This ghost is unlike any other ghost, he is a kind one! "
what the hell?? - Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12...by two large ghosts!
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Nooo... really? But think of all those people that have been murdered by ghosts and demons!
Oh wait, there were none. - axiomofstealth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9HAHA, I spent the last 10 years going to Spirit Mountain. Never saw that dude.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hah. Lets see who can get the stupidest submission up on the site :p
- Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"Is your place HAUNTED?"
save yourself the click. the answer is no.
it's always no.
to save time, your house is also not infested with mindcontrolling spine leeches, werewolves, lagoon creatures, frankenstein monsters, godzillas, pirates (no, the boat ones), naga, dragons, orcs, kobolds, pixies, dryads, satyrs, centaurs, cyclops, harpies, manticores, swamp things, man things, robots, aliens, zombies, vampires, klingons, succubi, incubi, demons, unicorns, changelings, troglodytes, sun eaters, titans, krakens, bigfoot, yeti or sasquatch.
please, remain calm and return to your regularly scheduled activities. - prockcore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7According to that site, the Hooters in Tucson is haunted... best haunting ever.
- WormBoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Meh, i never believed that stuff, when they show it on like ABC or whatever, scariest places. Its a load of bologna in my humble opinion..
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6hahaha it has an entry for my high school, describing temperature changes and funny noises (which both happen frequently because of the lousy climate control system they have)
- kyl3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5its weird to see stories i heard about my town as a kid actually on this list...
- xcheats, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8lmfao. That made my day. "Do they slime around the halls or something?"
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -0/+4Norfolk - Gresham Dorms - About 2 years ago a couple was murdered in the parking lot between Gresham Main and East. The killer(s) were never found and the couple's souls were never put to rest. It is said the woman can be fould walking around bleeding from gun shots, trying to find help for her dead husband. This usually happens towards the end of the month, and many nights in November, the month they were killed.
This is my school, and I can attest that these dorms are in fact quite shady, and by all accounts the laundry machines are haunted with pubic lice. - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Carleton County Jail - The Carleton County Jail is what is now the International Youth Hostile." o_O
- oyourmom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hooray for internal storage devices.
- fino35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Damn, even the ghosts stay out of Compton. Ironic considering all the murders...
- jus1haz2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why would you go there? lol
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why havent these guys picked up their 1 million bucks yet then?
The Foundation is committed to providing reliable information about paranormal claims. It both supports and conducts original research into such claims.
At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."
To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.

And had been in use through the 1800's for many brutal outlaws of the times. The gallows room has many a strange sound and a cold presence. The hole is a small sub-chambered room with intense cold and four or five small cells, one in particular, first one to the left, is very cold and has a foul odor, with a evil threatening presence, and people have been known to be pushed back up the stairs trying to leave the room as if to keep them going much faster than they are moving. "
Its true, just yesterday I payed $5 to see it all...except everything was covered with a bunch of synthetic cobwebs, carnies in cheap makeup were everywhere, and our guide was drunk.
But I have been in there when there was no fake haunted stuff going on, my sister worked there and had to close the gift shop, so she'd call me and I'd help her out. Its actually very damn scary and I won't lie when I say I've seen things in the shadows and had those vibes. *shiver* - psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My town is ghost free! How boring :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i was rippin up the spirit mountain park late one night and i saw some dude do a boardslide then vanish into thin air........
i wandered over to find nothing but a can of mountain dew - QuackAttack818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3According to this, my high school is haunted. And you know what they say, If it's on the internet, it must be true!
- joestan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I spent my fair share of time in Freeland Elementary a few years ago. I wandered the halls by myself often, never saw a thing. I was also in band, so I was in that room every day. Never saw a thing.
- DaveRocks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ahahahaha, My old middle school is on the list for being haunted. It is AMY at James Martin in Philadelphia, PA. I never really saw any ghosts or freaky stuff....I'm a little disappointed...
- NatalieMac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'll tell you what's scary...that web site.
- HanSolo69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i don't believe in ghosts, but when i was in second grade my grandparents took me to Ohio to see where my great grand parents used to run a candy shop which has since been turned into apartments, and while we were there a bunch of the tenants came out and when they found out who we were started asking if anyone from our family had died there (they had lived above the candy shop) because a woman and small child were seen and every time they were seen something bad would happen to those who saw them (car wreck, fire, etc.) it was scary when i was 8...
- sokz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2eplawless,
I walk by the hostle/jail at least twice a day on my daily rounds and such, I've been inside and taken the haunted tour twice, it's a crock of *****. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6"I suppose. Or maybe it's the ghost of the doctor after being lynched by the mob of god-fearing men- you know, the ones who can't get pregnant?"
You mean the Christians who value life so much they bomb abortion clinics, kill doctors and then turn up their nose in judgement at muslims as being backward, barbaric etc? - zenmouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cool that the Mystery Mile in Ohioville, PA was mentioned. I used to live right off of it, and it was a damned spooky road. And to think I used to walk down it at night before I could drive...
- lbreevesii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I live just across from East Hall on the Appalachian State University campus. East Hall is on the list, as a matter of fact I know people who have had experiences there. I also know people who have had items rearranged, even rooms straightened up in hoey dorm, as well as feeling strong temperature differences and the like.
- BitSlash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Houston - Old Greenhouse Road - The ghost of an old woman who died in a car wreck appears here. If you turn off your headlights and drive around the corner to the bridge VERY slowly, a mist forms over the bridge and comes together to form the shape of a person. They say if you stick around long enough, the apparition will begin to approach the car. My friends and I have seen this ghost appear on even the clearest of nights. The ghost seems to prefer warm or cold clear nights or nights just after it has rained..."
This is just minutes from my house, and I definately remember a nasty car wreck a few years back. Can't say whether it's haunted or not, but most of the Houston ones (the ones near my house, anyway) seem to be places that are pretty creepy. They might not be researched, but I'll go and see for myself =p - mltz2plz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ditto
- Toloran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Tigard - Canterburry Cemetery - Ghostly lights and apparitions have been sighted from the highway below by passing motorists. This historic cemetery in located atop Canterburry hill in this suburban area. The lights are usually small greenish balls that move about in the trees. They don't seem to get close to people; they stay in the distance. Newer homes and apartments have been developing around the cemetery since the 1970's and residents in the area have also heard unearthly howls and screams from here. There is a large malevolent presence that comes and goes from there. And one of the condos built near the cemetery is the sight of ghostly phenomenon linked to the cemetery. "
I live near there: Some of my friends and I went there to check that out. No "large malevolent presence" but definately a few "unearthly howls and screams" although that might have just been the nearby appartments residents. - seenthefuture, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is not a prison in Anthem AZ.
Anthem - "In present day Anthem by the prison, in the 1800s a mining tunnel was made that went a mile under the earth. This tunnel collapsed and killed 10 workers in the horrible accident. The ghosts of several coyotes and deer can be seen in New River. They were killed by hunters and they will try to attack, tourists who try to touch them. Every month at the start of the month Ufos will be seen in the desert." - battleroyalex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice find
- Broelke4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Only place mentioned near me is an abandoned orphanage that burned down.
It has always looked like your typical setting for ghost sightings, and apparently it is.
But I've never heard any tales of anything happening there other than the fire and that the people who purchased it with the intent of repairing it don't have the money to fix anything. - CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh god, that made my day, too. I actually laughed for a good minute. But even if all these sound like a load of BS, it is still pretty interesting to read.
- EricJD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, I guess the Wal-Mart in my town is haunted by a 12 year old Amish ghost boy named Jeremiah.
- nothing7899, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can they get any more vague?
"Gatlinburg - Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort - This place is haunted by many spirits and/or demons. Being one of the oldest hotels in Gatlinburg many events have taken place here over time. " - Zipko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is awsome, one of the sorority houses at my college (bloomsburg, pa) is listed. It says girls have been known to be pushed down the stairs by a ghost. I've seen it happen with my own eyes, and I always thought it was because they were wasted. Glad to know they arn't just clumsy drunks.
- FizzyMintSoda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL, they have a link that sells "ghost hunting gear". The link is selling Audacity for 9.50 US. I bet the num nuts who buys that will be pissed to find out that it is open source and free.
- DogHumpsMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There are a couple listed for my home town, but strangely enough not the most famous and well documented stories aren't mentioned.
I did find the story of an old farm house that some friends and I had rented in college that was supposedly haunted, but none of us ever saw anything out of the ordinary there. Kind of a let down. Although it is entirely possible that we were just to drunk to notice though. - bdub92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Hmm........lets see..........San francisco..........Hmm .............No .......No .....Hmm .....*****!!!"
- BigEazy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"sometimes the appiration will get mad and throw school trashcans around" ..... scary stuff
- onetruetweedle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Wallingford Hall - Reports of doors slamming, people running up and down the old staircase, apparitions of soldiers walking on the rafters in the barn and cold spots. "
I used to work there. It's the spookiest place ever. - datastorageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Omg lame..I live near Clinton, MA. and have never heard this story nor is it even close to being legitimate.
Clinton - George hill - You must go up the hill to the top. Typically if you come down the hill you will be chased by some mad man with and axe. When you look back the guy typically will disappear. Or in some cases you will only hear some kids screaming and the sound of and axe. Also if you go onto the Road George Hill Rd. on the right on the side of the road you will see a Stone with a Massacre written on the stone. -
