slate.com — OJ claimed that he had the right to self-help because the items were wrongfully taken from him. Yesterday, Yale Galanter, Simpson's defense lawyer, previewed his legal strategy, saying that you "can't rob something that is yours." Would Simpson really have the right to steal back something that was stolen from him?

  • AriaStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2By trying to take "his" stuff back, he committed the crimes of armed intrusion, burglary, breaking and entering, trespassing, robbery, whatever. One crime does (his stuff supposedly being stolen) does not cancel out others (his breaking and entering).

    Now if he were invited into the home, picked up the things he believes are his, and walked out, then he was there on invitation and no crime would have occurred with the way the law is written.

    But, OJ is a bumbling idiot so he shouldn't have the right to do anything.
