- hgrave23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wow! That is NUTS!!!
- TomFrost, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4That's crazy! Moms everywhere are shaking in fear that their digg-addicted geeks will think this is safe! ;-)
http://www.duggmirror.com - leontes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6What would really be impressive if they did it without telling people what they are doing. Hitchhiking is a lot easier with a reason i.e., "We are doing it to do all fifty in fifty days."
What would truly be impressive if they would only let themselves specify each individual destination themselves. "we have to get to Hawaii, 'cause we want to go to Hawaii." My guess is that they'd be a lot less successful and it would far more of a challenge. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Their Moms?
Ahahahaha

- oneredpaperclip, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I dare you to go to Guam.
- neeson, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Dude. Guam's not a state. You're thinking of Puerto Rico.
- evand22, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Wait. They can't! Guam is an ISLAND!!!
- johnholmes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Dudes,
1) Hawaii, like Guam, is an island too and the boys made it there.
2) Guam, like Puerto Rico, isn't a state and therefore does not count for their challenge.
However, Scotty and Fiddy have hit a few non-state capitals ( British Columbia, D.C., Mexico etc) so they could keep on doing a tour of all the U.S. protectorates. But I think they should just take a well deserved break in Hawaii. - neeson, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Wait, protectorate? Now you're just making things up.
- johnholmes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Check 'em out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Protectorates - PabloIV, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Neither Guam or Puerto Rico are protectorates. We're possessions, and that's just not the same thing. Puerto Rico is war loot from the spanish american war, and as such we're a possession of the federal government to be administered at the will of Congress.
We (Puerto Rico) are not a state, Congress doesn't want to walk into that land mine.
A state full of spanish speaking latinos, there's not enough political will in all 50 states to make that happen. - SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Wait, wikipedia.org? Now you are making websites to try to prove you are right. Pffft.
- suziwoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU! HAHA! The gauntlet has been thrown.
- Crazedpheasant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Scotty that would be great if you could pull that off.
Just Do It!
- neeson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Okay, they've done America, what's next?
- osidenate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Time to get wasted
- oneredpaperclip, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2If by wasted you mean safe, and careful, then count me in!
- iFrank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Awesome. It's nice to see people do crazy ***** like this. Gives us all hope.
- evand22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I like hope! LOTS!
- neeson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Hey, I like hope too! Maybe we can start an internet club?

- shindogu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Who has enough time to waste to check digg all day ? Hitchhiking for 50 days is much better dan pushing F5 all the time. :-)
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jealous much?

- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If you had read their blog:
"We spent Monday around Los Angeles looking for different ways to get to Hawaii, but it was the guys from Fermata who came through and saved our dignity with only hours to spare. They organized a big party at Carpe DM, a bar in Simi Valley, just north of Los Angeles for us and arranged a percentage of the proceeds to buy us tickets to Honolulu."
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If you had read their blog:
- ianmack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Congrats guys. That's pretty damn cool. When's the documentary coming out?
- Aaronichi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So wait...is this a step UP or DOWN from Will "Upski" Wimsatt's "Bet with America"?
- justinshattuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Caboose101: A party was thrown in their honor in L.A. and the proceeds were divided out and a specific percentage was utilized to buy them tickets to Hawaii.
Scotty, Fiddy, not sure if you'll get around to reading these comments during your crazy adventures in Hawaii and off to Guam, but either way, congrats mates! Was an oppurtunity, excited you finished your goal... now let me see those resumes :) - zadadka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Congrats to The Dudes.
Watched since Day 1 and the Singing Cowboy in Times Square. - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What has to be at least as cool isn't just how many places you travelled to, but how many people you met when hitchhiking. :-)
- bglav, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Is it just me or is that website extremely confusing?
Dugg for the great idea and creativity. - ModemGhost, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3It's cool and all, but did you really just use the word "rad"? I mean, really?
- its2cheryl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Way to go you guys!! This is an amazing story. It's a great claim to fame for sure and I hope you get the recognition you deserve. It was interesting to me to see that you met so many cool people along the way that wanted to take time out of their busy lives to help you reach your goal and be part of something "different". Maybe this world is not the scary place the media tells us it is. Good luck to you both!
- Kanundra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1People still pick up hitch-hikers? Haven't they seen what happens in the movies?
- Crazedpheasant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow 50 states in 50 days... pretty impressive! Who cares if the trip was planned. Still impressive in it self. Plus it is a super way to travel cheap. Good work Scott and Matt!
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2DON'T PANIC.
- garethevans, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Always know where your towel is.
- killn00bz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0im never gonna try that cuz ill probably be killed but i think that was a great idea to hitchhike to do that.
- porkstacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow, it's "rad" -- a term I haven't heard much since the 1980s! Way rad dude, totally radical, boss, bitchin, peachy-keen, like oh my god!
- hypnotiq, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1This has to be one of the stupidest things I have seen.
"Hitch50 isn't really a project about places; it's about people. Are you one of those people?"
Get a life - DavisTheDigger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2that was really gay
- foxmajik, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Chartering a plane isn't considered hitchhiking...
- fryerseb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Amazing project!
