- addzero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+76Ha, I thought the last one was a joke. "Oh no, that stand almost fell on him!"
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+56That guy behind the tree did, in fact, get shot. He just handled it very well.
- spanner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+46yep, especially the car that rolls OVER the guy
- 4Prophecy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45Much more refreshing than all those death videos. :)
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44"The lucky part was that the rocket didn't launch into his face."
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/1543/obviousfe4.jpg - ldavid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43The Frank Sinatra song just adds another element to whole video!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+39My guardian angel clearly is an *****.
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -2/+39Aside from the annoying parts where it sizes the video just to say "replay"
- gameguy43, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39we need separation of church and digg. i believe the noodly appendage is cooking over me. my people will not take this outrage.
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26nice choice of music.
- MadNuke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23And unlucky people just have lazy guardian Angels?
- PatrickFisher, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23All of these guys have a horseshoe the size of Texas up their asses.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Yeah I remember that, it was a few bullets in the chest as I recall. White boy version of fifty-cent or something...
- smittyfree, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Frank Sinatra makes any video that much more awesome.
- squison, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Lucky they have someone watching over them?
- MadNuke, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Is it just me, or is the title ironic?
If someone is watching over them, how is it LUCK? - bluemist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11"I still don't know how that inline skater got out of the way of the bus..."
Luck? - Domiko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Living FTW.
- troon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Maybe, just maybe, he purposely selected a spot behind a stout tree.
- QuidnuncQuixot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Try looking up "colloquialism". I'll give you a hint: when people want to approach a problem from a few different angles, they aren't likely to ACTUALLY remove the skin from a feline.
- dudinatrix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I don't know who's luckier. Them for surviving all that, or me for never having been in a situation like that in the first place.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11or "People That Have Improbability Working For Them"
..for the scientific-minded half of Digg. - CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8One of the best put together youtubes I've ever seen. The music and the clips were right on.
- harmlessinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@toekneebullard - The lawyer shooting:
Full news report:

THe CNN report:

And the follow up on the lawyer from last year:

"I was doing fine until Jesus pushed me in front of that car!" - TheDrunkMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://media1.yourdailymedia.com/files/EZ5T0BnAynhy.wmv
The report on the actual incident. - Sblader5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7kinda funny most of those are rally racing
- Murphious, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7... *guys
It's not that hard. - cvweiss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The film crew and reporter weren't there to provoke the accident. They were there to do a report on how that particular corner was prone to such accidents. They just happened to be there when an accident occurred.
- brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That was pretty funny though, it was like something you would see in a comedic movie... a guy trying to dodge bullets by hiding behind a tree...
- numlok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Although these are fun to watch, I noticed that in a good number of these clips (namely the car crash ones), you could just as easily argue how un-lucky the drivers of THOSE vehicles were.
The others seemed a bit, "Yeah buddy, you were THIS close to becoming a Darwin award".
-edit: MrSunshine illustrates my point fairly well. - toekneebullard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The guy being shot at, who was hiding behind the tree, wasn't lucky...he was shot like, 7 times. I can't find the story on google, but it was in the news several months ago. The guy just walked up and started shooting him. He lived...but being shot that many times isn't exactly what I'd call "lucky."
- psychotron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm pretty sure that natural selection will take care of that skater soon enough. What a dumb *****.
- harmlessinc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@xotopia - No it wasn't:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/10/27/cnn25.curry.tan/index.html - brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That last guy with the rocket is such an idiot, so many people have died from those accidents, that is the reason why you need a licence to build rockets, and also why private fireworks are banned in most countries.
- CrackedTech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I watched that on the news just about 10 mins after it happened and it wasn't blanks. After the guy walks away like nothing happened the lawyer walks out into the crowd and you can clearly see him bleeding from the head where he was grazed by a bullet.
- Disease, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Because nothing beats the thrill of being 2 inches away from running a guy over while taking a turn in a super modified rally car.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7@drjborg
*****, if that tree weren't there he would have been smashed. He didn't even try to get out of the way the guy just started running down the road..
Not saying that I have better reactions or anything but he 'didn't know what he was doing' - TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Zalex was the guy who put the video together ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5You've gotta love how the car does a flip over the flag-bearer
- dyvbond, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I love it...424 diggs and 257 views on youtube =/
But, besides that good video...the resizing was a bit annoying though - bigrodey77, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6The music is priceless.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@dudinatrix:
I know it was a rhetorical question, but I have to answer with "they are luckier than you". Most people in their situations would have died. Most people like us who aren't faced with near death are better off, but those who face death and survive are luckier. - raabco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"People That Have Someone Watching Over Them"
yeah, us diggers. - kevxross, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Oh man. That guy that was behind the tree that the car slammed into.. oh man. If I were him I'd chop that tree down and I'd make a toothpick out of it. And that would be my favorite toothpick ever.
- bocaJWho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2More I was just thinking these were a lot of people, given that they all were in situations where they nearly died.
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was a news report on a very dangerous intersection. I'm sure the fact a news crew was there taping didn't help the driver of the red car. Reporter was lucky.. driver of red car, not so much so.
- zer0vector, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not luck, just statistics. For every one of these people who lives there are 10 who don't after getting hit by cars and falling off balconies. Videos of these people just aren't as widely circulated.
- bliz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sweet lady luck smiles
