Priceless. - doctabu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28One more thing...
You can jump on it. - cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Cool find & nice to read that Steve can be a nice guy and tips well.
- andrewr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Steve Jobs seems like a completely down to earth, friendly type of guy, not some "jackass."
- Genthree, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19This guy sounds rather well-spoken for a trampoline installer. I hope he's found a better job since then.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22That's nothing, I installed Bill Gates toilet. He commented on how the toilet could be improved ("We could add a mouse and a LCD display, all you have to do is wait a couple of seconds for Windows CE to boot, then click 'flush'! The old handle could be a reset switch."). He even took a whiz in it to test it out. Then he signed my copy of Windows ME ("Some day that could be a collector's item."). I asked him about Vista but he just flushed the toilet repeatedly, staring at the swirling water, looking like he was about to say something. Then he said he'd credit my Passport account for the job and sent me on my way.
- jdimstrbean, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16only if you have pictures...
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Have you even met Steve Jobs in person? I bet you wouldn't say that again if you actually had a conversation with him and he is different than the usual CEO.
- AggieTales, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9no you're just being a jackass and everyone is making sure you realize that
- quoigonfishin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Because God wants you to buy a Mac :)
- Prod1gy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13My friend's dad went over to his house and unclogged a toilet....is that digg worthy?
- FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Oh, and I'd like to install a trampoline for Pamela Anderson. :-P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9@bioret - you sound quite like a jackass. I'm pretty sure he was referring to the "old" device the author had, not the fact that his signing it would make it some precious thing. Come on, cut him a break.
@ other guy with dad - the 80's was quite a long time ago. I'm sure you'll find he probably has changed a lot. - Clbck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8This is under offbeat news.
- therernospoons, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6My favorite quote: "I know it is, and this will make it all that much better... muhahahahahahahaah!"
- dmoney06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6pwnage might do it as well.
and 4g stands for 4th generation, not 4 gb. - Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5More importantly, why did you feel the need to comment on it?
- D4r7h3v1l, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12My dad spent a week with him in the eighties and he says that Jobs is a jackass.
- doctabu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9To be fair, I just got done working for a Macintosh magazine, and they've met him.
He's a jackass usually.
A smart jackass. - flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5he could be a jackass, but he is one smart jackass that can sure run a company.
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@ohhhL3ThaL:
Do you have Turrets? - gooru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"reserve the signature for posterity"
You mean "eBay"? :) - FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I love what you get if you click on the "Steve Jobs" link near the top of that article.
"September 24, 2004
The plan for tomorrow -
Tomorrow, I am going over to Steve Jobs' house. Yeah, that Steve Jobs--you know, the 74th richest person in America. Nothing big... just going over to set up a trampoline."
Lone Comment - "steal his money."
It's funnier in person. :-P
http://www.garden2.net/share/archives/000355.html - whobutsb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I swear I had this same dream like 3 nights ago, but instead of installing a trampoline, I was installing his wireless router.
- Trevino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Off topic much?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Actually i have thought about getting a mac. I just find this god like devotion to a ceo a bit strange, disturbing and when it pollutes digg very annoying"
what does you having a mac have anything to do with you being a jackass? Take your personal bitter hatred and blacken some other forum. - ejm508, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, they're shown as jackasses in very different ways. While Jobs is shown as being liable to fly off the handle at any moment, Gates is more subtly manipulative
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3anyone that thinks Steve Jobs ISN'T a jackass hasn't seen The Pirates of Silicon Valley. It's a friggin great movie and both Jobs and Gates are basically presented as jerks, but Jobs is the bigger jerk.
- siglesias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2his house sounds divine
f'n fruit trees and zen gardens? hell yeah - quoigonfishin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Was it an iToilet?
http://www.electric-chicken.co.uk/itoilet.html - ejm508, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Steve Jobs was a real jackass back in the 80's, but I've heard he's become more mellow since then
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes I think Steve was joking about how old the IPod was.
- BenBenMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow .. what an insanely great article...
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Be careful. He might tell you where to stick the antenna.
- nato64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14g meaning 4th generation
most people on digg (especially us apple fanboys) would call you some derogatory explicative, but i'll refrain - phatvolvo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you mean 'expletive'.
'explicative' means 'serving to explain; explanatory'. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1he was referring to the fact that is a 2g ipod (that's 4 years old now)
- ridgelawrence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pamela Anderson is gross.... Now Jessica Alba.....
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've heard he can make his employees jump.
- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1and Ultra fabulous
- cliffzdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Divine? Righto, Fezz...
- starguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My homebrew lineman's handset is signed by John Drapier is far cooler than his autographed Ipod....
http://shellprompt.no-ip.info/drive0/www/rave.peachcountry.com/ - canadiense, on 10/27/2007, -1/+1Steve Jobs isn't just "another CEO" ... Steve Ballmer is just another CEO. Steve Jobs was at the creative forefront of a revolution that changed the world. He deserves near God-like status IMHO. Sure, somebody else would have taken his place if it wasn't Steve Jobs, but who? Would the computing world be the same today if Jobs hadn't been where he was at the time? Me thinks so.
- FearlessNinja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's a small ass world.
- Neilyos, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I think what he meant by that comment was that it was an older model, one for the collectors. Much like my 2G 10GB model which I spent over $400 on before everybody else I know knew what an iPod was...
- nato64, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7I read this over a year ago, but good story.
- cliffzdude, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6I find it odd how people can love a Fortune 500 corporation so much they'd blow the CEO.
- tomi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2uh, wtf?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Actually i have thought about getting a mac. I just find this god like devotion to a ceo a bit strange, disturbing and when it pollutes digg very annoying
- friend18, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6Steve Jobs owns. There is no other way to describe him exept OWNAGE
