- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I never had any problems solving this in my head, first I looked at it, then I looked at what I had around me, then I calculated in my head what order to peel the stickers off and then what surface to put them on so I could get them back off easy enough. Do one color at a time and your done!
- rnelsonee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I decided to learn a year ago. With the internet and all, it's nowhere near as hard as you might think, so go ahead and look it up. The first method I used was inefficient, and basically involved memorizing steps. Here's the link - although you memorize stuff, it's nice - no notation like "U' F R'" - it's all graphical.

(I would recommend solving the 'top edges' first to make a cross, as his corner methods in the first step won't screw them up once you have them placed -- so make a 'plus sign' with all orange pieces first (this should be pretty easy - no memorization), and then you can skip his whole second page).
I then learned methods used by speed solvers, and now understand how the moves work. This page: http://peter.stillhq.com/jasmine/rubikscubesolution.html is good at learning a bit more about how the moves work. Look up "F2L" to get really good at it understanding the cube, and it actually involves no memorization, since you'll know intuitively where things go.
It's not going to get you any girls or anything, but it gives you something to do when you're bored. I even solved the cube today a couple of times waiting for other things. - Nugolot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5overused again

- JMedoy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I know several methods for solving a cube blindfolded and this seems exceedingly complicated. Maybe for a bigger (4x4 or 5x5) cube it would be good but i prefer to just memorize edges and corners with orientations and then permute them.

This is the best site I have found for learning how to do the cube.
I use a modified Ortega's method. I only memorize three routines and can usually do a cube in around 3 minutes or so. - RT55J, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Just peel off the stickers.
