- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+104if you're bored enough to read a post like this on a sunday afternoon you're probably sitting in front of the computer too much. this guy started eating less and moving around more and he lost weight. it's not always fun, but losing weight isn't exactly rocket science.
- Rossjj, on 10/10/2007, -1/+89Wow you ate healthily and did some exercise, I can't believe you lost weight!
- cindylauper, on 10/10/2007, -1/+79Lose weight in front of the computer, I wanna do that...oh he exercised and dieted...never mind.
- mishabear, on 10/10/2007, -1/+75and exercise
- ahpro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40I lose more than £14.60 through the internet in just a month!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+42This is retarded, the fastest way to lose weight is crack.
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24Incorrect. The fastest way to lose weight is to cut off your arms and legs.
- ltkerr0r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20"Throw in some playing with the soccerball on in-between days,Workout every other day. My workout includes 20 min stationary cycle, walking to and from the gym, and the following weight machines: dual action chest press, seated leg curl, rotary calf, fly, abs, arm curl, leg extension, triceps, prone leg curl, leg press, glutes"
Sitting in front of a computer alright. Did he strap a laptop to his chest or something? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16They just need to invent a self powered pedal thing that u can plug into your computer. so if you want to use it you gotta work a bit.
- maklershed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14This is similar to how I make money sitting in front of my computer. I go to work for 8 hours and then I come home and use the computer a little bit and voila .. every two weeks a check comes!
- Typhoon2009, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14People bitch about losing weight all the time... it's about as difficult as first grade math, you just need the motivation to keep running each day. Or biking, or whatever cardio you pick.
Now getting stronger / more buff, THAT I find way more difficult, time consuming, and lengthy than not eating like a pig and moving on a treadmill for 45 minutes. - toastgodsupreme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8How I lost 30 lbs and toned up...
BASIC MILITARY TRAINING (USAF).
No ***** joke. I went from 181 to 152 during BMT. After I got out, NONE of my civilian pants fit me, and I also had to purchase new BDU's a size smaller than mine, and damn if I didn't look and feel better.
How do you do it? EASY.
1. Alternate between Cardio one day, and physical strengthening the other day. 30min-1hr is all that's needed.
2. STOP EATING GARBAGE. Most of our meals, due to how they were prepared and how much time we were given to eat, probably averaged us around 400-500 cal a meal. 3 meals a day.
3. 1hr after eating lunch is when you excersise. I don't know why, but for me, this made all the difference. I guess it kept my metabolism going throughout the day.
That's it. - Jeffler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10sarcasm
- xShad0w, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7thanks for my new workout plan
- Dhalgren, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7What the hell is with the canola oil and sugar water? Is he wearing an Edgar suit?
- OutThisLife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7When I opened to read the buried comment I said to myself "It's going to say loser".
- WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They have them. But will you buy something like that?
- WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Rules 1 & 2!!!
- londubh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5So unless he switches hands I suspect one wrist is more massively muscled than the other.
- appletalk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6If you're able to read a magazine you're probably doing it too lightly
- berb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You're an idiot.
- heyitsgarrett, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Well I WAS about to masturbate until your comment. Thanks, jerk.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7dumbass took "shots" of canola oil and drank sugar water.....great diet.
- smeagel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It can be summed up that way. While it's unfair that some people have to do work harder than others, it's simply a function of burning more calories than you consume. Some people have metabolisms that give them a pretty strong head start, but no matter what, you simply have to burn more than you consume. The obese people out there don't have the willpower (not to imply naturally skinny people have more willpower, it just doesn't take any for them) to do what it takes to lose the weight. It takes a lot of work, but pretty straight forward work.
- blacknred0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4probably was part of the procedure, but he didn't want to say it
- bobcrotch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5When will people realize that all you have to do to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more? It's a simple ***** equation, use up more calories than you intake and you'll lose weight.
Obviously eating different types of food is healthier, but if you were still only eating fast food and using up the calories you would lose weight. - Canadacdn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Fight Diabeetus!
- Stevethegreat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4He had Aids .... I mean aides.
- glimp7, on 10/10/2007, -3/+715 pounds down, another 30 to go, from it looks like.
- BayAreaKing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4What does canola oil do to help?
- smarba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Granted the title may be slightly inaccurate, but hey, if this is what motivated him to start moving and eating better, then more power to him. That's really the most important thing, and I know at least some of us diggers could probably have a field day with all the web stuff he did. Dugg.
- d03boy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3As for it not being fun, I completely disagree. I just got done biking for an hour and I feel the best that I've felt all day... and I really, really hate Sundays. While I biked I read TIME magazine and caught up on some issues. I listened to some music which I haven't heard in a while. It's really an experience that you can't take for granted.
- thebusiness, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah wouldn't want to gain weight in muscle, that sounds scary!
- dmightx, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3Yeah but hey, he probably did something that he thought was impossible. He did something most Americans will never do Instead of looking at it that way lets look at the bright side. I rather see things like this in the hopes that it will inspire people to do things like this. .
- gbro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dam, I was gonna invent that!
- BuckFush, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I lost 40lbs when I stopped smoking pot. But it wasn't worth it.
- adcat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2you just started?
- otomo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Being skinny doesn't mean you are healthy. Take it from a fellow skinny dude. As an aside, anyone have a good weight gain regimen? Regular weight lifting doesn't do much for muscle mass on me. I haven't tried mass amounts of protein in the diet yet though.
- reyalp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Your diet controls your metabolism, except for the 2% of the population with thyroid problems. So don't give me that crap about metabolism and body type. I was one of those "oh it's my metabolism/genetics/destiny" people who made up excuses why I was fat, until I eventually just got off my ass and did something about it. I lost 30 pounds of pure fat and put on 10 pounds of muscle in 6 months. So save the crying for your momma and hit the pavement running. - narcosis219, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Buried for inaccuracy... The guy did exercise. He didn't just sit there.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2His lift routine sucked complete ass.
Awesome of him for noticing the flaws in his health, going out there and doing something about it. Most people don't have the balls to even walk out of the door. - cgeezy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Poor training choices and some ***** up "Shangri-la" fad diet. Read a little more nutrition and weight training literature and try again. I guess something is better than nothing, though.
- jsdratm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Or meth... Ride the Snake!!!!
- toastgodsupreme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, that's what I meant. Everything they served was relatively low calorie. And the stuff that didn't taste totally horrible, was stuff like the vegetable gumbo stuff, which was actually better for you than a lot of the nasty stuff they would serve (I really doubt it was real meat in the burgers they made).
Oh, and you ate LOTS of rice too. Heh. Almost every meal if you could get it. And once I found out where they had the soy sauce, oh, it was so on.
Plus they had us drinking about 8-12 canteens of water a day. - Birdoftruth, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5yea it is something to be proud of.
- adrianmonk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can do it right now. You're burning calories by sitting there, just not very fast. All you have to do is not eat a lot.
- h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Effectiveness is improved when thrusting your hips around wildly.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is it not a bit tasteless to have a link to the 'saw a woman in half' trick at the bottom of that wikipedia article? :P
- smaxl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2jerking it... is that the answer?
- dmightx, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Hmm I think someone has mentioned this before.
