This story is actually funnier because this moron lives in Reston which is in Fairfax County right outside of DC. This is NOT a quaint backwoods town. While we have plenty of small towns with interesting characters, this guy comes right out of a DC suburb.

I hate to say it, but after a quick read of it, the points of the book actually make a lot of sense (the book is not about the Holocaust at all by the way).

Look at the second block quote. That block quote seems to imply that it is a direct quote, while only the very top of is a direct quote...why is it written like that? The only direct quote in that passage is "I believe millions of Jews were uprooted from their homes and died in droves". Propaganda may be true, but it has to be used in order to serve a particular political purpose in order for it to be propaganda. The Holocaust was a great tragedy in human history, but I have to admit that it is heavily propagandized. The treatment the Holocaust gets in the USA is totally out of proportion when compared with other equally horrific crimes of the past, and the reason for this is probably because the Holocaust happened so recently in conjunction with the direct experience of so many Americans (many of its survivors are still alive).
We must not forget the Holocaust, but we should also honor the memory of others, such as the Japanese victims of nuclear terror (which they continue to memorialize even though we ignore it), and pay careful attention to ongoing injustices such as the brutal expansion of Israel. There's a whole lot more hard, well-documented, undeniable evidence for the "death camps" than the Soviet hearsay. There's more than enough eye-witness accounts, from both the survivors and their captors too.
WTF does the Katyn Massacre have to do with it? No one's denying that the Soviets had committed atrocities during the war. All sides have.

While people rip on holocaust deniers and revisionists, for decades it was okay to inflate the real numbers 3x, and persecute anybody who wanted to know the real numbers. It's only very recently that the 2 million number is being acknowledged... I noticed every mainstream Web site is using the 6 million number though... which contradicts the smaller number actually noted right at the entrances to the internment camps now turned into museums (go look up the pix if you don't believe me, and make sure it's a recent pic... the numbers have changed over time to reflect real statistics). People are full of it on both sides, which I feel takes away from the holocaust victims.
Even accepting the 6 million number of Jews, that leaves out the acknowledgment of the other 5 to 11 million considered holocaust victims, Poles, Soviets, gays, etc... I guess they don't count because the are not the right ethnicity.
Again, my point is that there is plenty of revision going on on both sides... I'm sure I'll get slammed as a racist or something, but whatever. All I want is for people to acknowledge that it was a tragedy without all the exaggeration. Don't slam people for using math to come-up with a real number for how many people died. And don't forget that the holocaust was not the only genocide that ever occurred in the earths history (can we say Pol Pot killed like 2 million people). -
