I see what they did there. - TrueJournals, on 07/08/2009, -0/+43For more information on the picture: http://1x.com/?viewpic=25887
- theshovler, on 07/08/2009, -0/+29Inaccurate title, he/she clearly missed.
- The0, on 07/08/2009, -2/+24Holy *****! How do you even time something like that?
- CanadaMan87, on 07/08/2009, -1/+18Does anyone know the setup for this photo? What's with the little pink marble and the splash?
- bjs3171, on 07/08/2009, -2/+19hey man, nice shot.
- matrixbandit, on 07/08/2009, -0/+17Actually, the shutter is already open and waiting, it's the flash that is triggered by the sound or laser.
- touchinmyself, on 07/08/2009, -0/+16Wish it where bigger, would make a decent walpaper.
- Imortus, on 07/08/2009, -0/+10I thought that magenta blob was a marble until I read that it's actually a colored drop of water. Brilliant.
- TheEggAndI, on 07/08/2009, -0/+9what you dont see is a nearby wall with several bullet holes and a bucket of golf balls use to drop into the water for each take.
- namochan, on 07/09/2009, -0/+8Fired by a blowgun. I can tell by some of the droplets and seeing quite a few bullets in my time.
- jba68, on 07/08/2009, -0/+7BLEH
- Syric, on 07/09/2009, -0/+6I'd say they make more of a banana.
- DeadliestSnatch, on 07/08/2009, -0/+6Yes bullets do mushroom, but AFTER they impact something more substantial than a drop of water.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5thanks
- m0oSe, on 07/08/2009, -0/+5Very precisely...
- sleeplesson, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6Except I don't think most of them have a BULLET flying through the drop.
- aiten, on 07/09/2009, -0/+5Yep, there's a number of tutorials on this. Best to shoot the photo in pitch darkness, so the only exposure is as the flash fires.
- 2of8, on 07/08/2009, -2/+6Marble?
- EtherGnat, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4The 40D is capable of 6.5 frames per second at full resolution. Assuming a relatively pokey 800 ft per second for the bullet and the bullet would move 123 ft between images.
- Joshislong, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4That is an oxymoron.
- t0aDe, on 07/08/2009, -2/+6You are more precise than I. +1
- twishart, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3good shot, man
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3a colored drop of water
read TrueJournals's comment below. - Davers, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3*you're
And you're still wrong. The correct usage would be "I wish it were". "I wish it where" would be wishing it was in some location. - acparks1, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3you're welcome.
- soil, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Another pic.; looks like water and high-speed photography make a great pear:

hey man... nice shot. - loneraver, on 07/08/2009, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BHc72HQ05M
- MarcieCastillo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2you're welcome.
- PocketSalt, on 07/08/2009, -2/+4If that's a counter-attack materia, I'd like to see a photograph of what happens next.
- JordanTW90, on 07/08/2009, -0/+2thanks
- m3arvk, on 07/08/2009, -3/+5What's the pink thing?
- Delphium226, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2Pair cider.... yummy.
- tmshu1, on 07/08/2009, -1/+3Very carefully...
- Imortus, on 07/08/2009, -0/+2Wouldn't it be easier to take a rapid sequence of high speed shots and just pick the best framed one from the mix? Can the 40D do that?
- soil, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2sweet pic. right? Just b/c it's a 9mm doesn't mean it was a handgun or hand-held. For a shot like this, you'd probably want to control as many of the variables as possible, so recoil and minute hand adjustments could/should be eliminated.
Plus, we don't know how many shots were attempted before getting this desired outcome, you know? - euphoria860, on 07/09/2009, -0/+29mm...
- 2of8, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I realized that soon afterwards. I just thought that saying "Marble" would be funny because it's in the parent comment to m3arvk's question.
- hojin994, on 07/08/2009, -0/+2It's called a double entendre, correct?'
[no joke intended] - jgoodstein, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1It was a computer controlled gun according to the page linked earlier. So yes you can have the robots on your team..
- bdigital24, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2You're not very bright huh?
- Davers, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1*were
*wallpaper - AsianVoodoo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Wow I wanna meet the guy who made that shot with the gun (notice I specified gun not camera as the title might pun at). When the zombies come I want him on my team!
- t0aDe, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1You can do that for cars and people etc, but bullets are too fast unfortunately.
- soil, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1there is no spoon.
- jgoodstein, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1The webpage stated that it was a computer controlled gun, so my guess is that's how he accomplished this feat.
- banthis, on 07/28/2009, -0/+1That's some great timing.
- paloooz, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1No, "I wish it where" would be wishing it WERE in some location.
