- dmcbride, on 05/21/2009, -3/+12For those wondering - it indeed still had its brain.
My understanding (I read about this quite some time ago) is that when beheading the chicken, it is common practice to leave as much of the neck as possible. Unfortunately they chopped so high it left a good deal of the brain stem intact.
He died from choking after some food plugged its air passage.
It's odd he lived so long - however I would think it would have been a bit more humane to put him down entirely. - serif69, on 05/21/2009, -0/+9Is it still?
- compgeek, on 05/21/2009, -0/+8The fact a chicken can live without a head for this long even if they brain is still intact is incredibly disturbing
