- Popdmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"Blue Period (1901–1904), consisting of somber, blue paintings influenced by a trip through Spain and the recent suicide of his friend Carlos Casagemas, often featuring depictions of acrobats, harlequins, prostitutes, beggars and other artists. "
Picasso's work now featured in a myspace profile near you... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@Shamonue
Maybe because Picasso's birthday was the 25th, and today's the 26th? Just taking a shot in the dark there. - FastZ, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Picasso was an artistic genius. Happy B-day!

Ya when I read the title I went straight to google to check it out :-( - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Picasso's work now featured in a myspace profile near you..."
It could only improve the look of things. - orielbean, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I believe the exact quote was "Pablo Picasso was never called an *****". But sweet reference at any rate! And women could not resist his stare.
- Dotnetsky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Picasso has had more influence on the way I write code as a programmer than anybody. He taught us it's OK to be crazy, to think differently (lateral thinking) to see things from a different angle and perspective, and be great lovers, among other neat things.
- LustHog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Just saw Picasso work this weekend at a museum in Los Angeles...nothing compares to it.
- zengame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On-Line Picasso Project has great gallery.

- jasz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you, dear sir, need to learn about art.
Comparing Picasso with a street artist is like comparing Mozart with a cellphone ringtone composer (if there is such thing)
PS. The street artist depicted above may be very talented, but not to the extent of the creative works of art that Picasso made. - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So she can draw commercial art on the sidewalk with chalk. Whoop-dee freakin' do. Art is a subjective matter at best. If you don't like Picasso's work that's fine, but comparing him to a street drawing is pretty paltry in my opinion.
- CGreen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He is vastly overrated.
http://www.artrenewal.org/index.html - eric0213, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I always liked his quote "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."
I gained new respect for him when I saw his early work that was traditional. He didn't paint abstract that way because he couldn't paint well (lifelike), he really was an artist. - auxide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1For people not getting it, its from a song;
"Pablo Picasso" by The Modern Lovers
:) - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So you like Baroque and more Classical artworks, that's fine. But to each his own, and art is subjective. You want to feel truly insulted? Look for an image of Duchamp's "Fountain". Then ponder the message it sends, "What is art, and who has the right to call one thing 'art' and another thing 'junk".
- bede, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"He is vastly overrated."
I think you mis-spelled "incomparable genius" ;-) - vvvv, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2That was some of the worst art I've ever seen. Can that guy even paint a straight line? I'll take Frank Frazetta any day over this joker. Or check out Jennifer Jean Lee's breathtaking World of Warcraft chalk art:

That's true art, not this scribbly "Picasso" nonsense. - Cmdr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Pablo Picasso was not an *****
- auxide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1edit; woops

- sarno, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Hmmm just realized I was born the day he died.
- Cab00se, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Last time I checked...he's dead, and therefore he can't have a birthday!
