- BeShirtHappy, on 10/28/2008, -2/+18I enjoy optical illusions! These are cool. Which is your favorite?
- ScottMcIntyre, on 10/28/2008, -2/+15Very clever! I was bamboozled by the 'good/evil' illusion ... for a minute ;-)
- AmyVernon, on 10/28/2008, -2/+13I'm dizzy now.
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -2/+12Cool optical illusions....I love Halloween.
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/29/2008, -1/+8Thank you for coming to my defense! :-) I don't take it personally... I think gravityPersists is stalking MrBabyMan and then leaves nasty, juvenile comments on any story that he diggs. Leaving one comment was sufficient (I never said they were original optical illusions... I just happen to like them and thought I would share them), however, gravityPersists left 5 nasty comments.
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/29/2008, -0/+7I don't know how my enjoying these optical illusions and wanting to share them turned so ugly.
- Julie188, on 10/29/2008, -0/+6This is a great list of optical illusions.
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/29/2008, -0/+6yw. I agree! I thought they were fun and thought others might as well.
- JerichoSam, on 10/28/2008, -2/+8Pretty cool. I still can't figure out how those two squares are the same color, though!
- jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -1/+7I wanted to say thanks for sharing this, Donna. In these troubled times, it is good to see more lighthearted articles that celebrate the simple joys of the season.
- leprechaun268, on 10/29/2008, -1/+7Really enjoyable
- Cancerkitty, on 10/29/2008, -0/+5How many times do you need to repeat the same comment? You don't like the article. You've made that very clear. Now move on.
- ivencente, on 10/29/2008, -1/+6This is wonderful. I've always been a connoisseur of illusions especially of the optical variety and this list takes the proverbial Halloween cake so to speak. I do not agree with my fellow Digger, gravityPersists. I think this would make wonderful front page. Digg needs less copy Huffington posts and more down home goodness posts. Look forward to more. Love ya Donna. By the way I just turded my pants.
- inactive, on 10/28/2008, -2/+6I sat there for 5 minutes trying to count black dots...woops.
- SmooveO, on 10/28/2008, -2/+6I think I just passed out..
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/28/2008, -1/+5I know that one got me too. My husband took a screen grab over to Paint to prove to me they are indeed the same color. :-) It's the shadow that make them appear different.
- BeShirtHappy, on 10/29/2008, -0/+4I don't understand why you felt compelled to keep making comments after the first one. You are entitled to your opinion. I thought the optical illusions were fun and wanted to share them. As simple as that.
- jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -0/+4gravityPissed, are you just having a bad day because your mom locked you out of the basement again?
Listen, there is no need to be jealous of MrBabyMan. You have the whole world to be jealous of.
But I have to warn you - the more you post comments to this digg, the greater the chances are it - or any other digg - will go popular from the attention. That is the way that algorithm works. A sentient being would realize that. Ah, and there's the rub. - jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -1/+5Wow - four comments on this digg - gravityPersists, you must really LOVE this post, and I suspect you still have a romantic crush on MrBabyman... Can't you guys kiss and make up?
- Cancerkitty, on 10/29/2008, -0/+4"Seriously, you thought the "Evolution of Scream Queens" article was diggworthy? Or did you digg simply because it was shouted to you?"
I absolutely thought it was diggworthy. Halloween is in two days, and these kind of articles are fun. Also, my wife and I just had an in-depth argument on the subject of Scream Queens (mostly revolving around Jamie Lee Curtis) two days ago, so this was very topical for me. I forwarded the article to her and she got a kick out of it as well. - Cancerkitty, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3I add people who's submissions I tend to like, and when they shout, I usually, although not always, Digg them. My friends do the same thing, generally they digg my stuff, but certainly not always. If my friends start shouting me a lot of garbage articles, I'll dump them. Check my profile, my friends list is pretty trimmed down, while my fans list is enormous. That's what this whole social networking thing is all about, after all.
In this case, and in the case of the Video Game Cakes articles, I liked the content (a lot actually), and dugg them. You don't like it, that's fine, but let's not pretend there is this massive conspiracy of digg traders out there, dominating the front page with crap. That's beyond ludicrous. In fact, I'm not sure why I'm even defending myself to you. - jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3From the site: "This is NOT one of those annoying scary pop ups, just the illusions".
You are well served to be cautious, but at least that is not the case this time. - jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -1/+4I am certain that the phrase "Kiss and make up" does not apply here, since any real connection to the esteemed MrBabyman is no doubt a masturbatory fantasy in the head of gravityPersists, For that reason I wish to apologize.
But on the subject, how in the world does anyone choose a name as cornball as "gravityPersists"? Was "water'sWet" and "lightningFlashes" already taken? I can imagine the disappointment on little gravity's face when "painHurts" and "coldFreezes" was not there for the choosing. Cheer up, little bitter genXer, I am sure you can find another good and surprisingly descriptive oxymoron for a name the next time. - nickbograd, on 10/28/2008, -2/+5Haha that one you have to count the dots on is a good one.
- jgregc, on 10/29/2008, -0/+3@gravityPissed, "because honestly, digg's quality has been declining"
It is amazing that someone who started out this thread screaming vulgarities and threatening people is suddenly so concerned with the quality of digg in general.
Everyone else here has been nothing but extremely cordial to you (with the exception, perhaps, of me), and definitely not deserving of the attacks you have been lobbing at them. You seem like a pretty smart guy, and no doubt you could have a lot to offer if you can get passed the anger issues.
Who knows, we all may even learn something here. Looking at what you Digg, I don't agree with a lot of them, but there are more than a few that I do find interesting. Why not share the positive and start from there?
I'll start with not calling you "gravityPissed" anymore. - KaiserArny, on 10/29/2008, -0/+2You've a member since Feb 2008 only and you say used to? You only have 180 diggs and 3 submissions only. What did you contribute? I made a lot of friends here on Digg and interact with them daily. For me, Digg got better since I've been a member. And guest what? I've been at it longer than you.
- dvsbastard, on 10/29/2008, -4/+3There is no illusion here... This submission is clearly spam...
(P.S. Taking existing common illusions and then ***** some of them up with a crap photoshop, and adding a really irritating howling sound does NOT make them Halloween illusions...) - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -2/+1Digg used to be a site for people that didn't waste time on ***** flash animations. Excuse me for fighting against vile like you in attempts to restore the digg I remember...
Go back to the pony forums you came from, where old jokes are the norm. - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -2/+1my favorite is the one with ***** dripping from a mouth
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -3/+1***** try me. You're threatening me with making a fool of me in front of digg? This is FURTHER proof of head-in-ass syndrome, you think you're in some position of power due to your inclusion in a damn chain letter posse who has since migrated from emails?
Go ahead, make me "popular from the attention," (ironic you just criticized my name for sounding redundant and then say this...), I guarantee that 99% of digg will agree, just not the 1% for which it matters anymore apparently. - Nidy1, on 10/29/2008, -4/+1Didn't look at it, but my screamer sense is tingling.
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -5/+3bury this, comment meant to be placed in reply to thread above and went here.
- inactive, on 10/29/2008, -3/+1Pretend? It's very clear now why BabyMan et al can make it to the front page. I'm not blaming you directly, I don't know you, but I know there are people that Digg can do without (and hopefully they stop this blind-digging madness), because honestly, digg's quality has been declining. Traffic to the site is declining. And I, myself, am checking digg less and less often because of the crap that's making it's way to popularity.
Seriously, you thought the "Evolution of Scream Queens" article was diggworthy? Or did you digg simply because it was shouted to you? - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -4/+1here are the diggers who are making this story popular, and who made the video game cake article popular as well (out of a pool of 88 total, here is 53):

Please note, I'm not suggesting all profiles are fake. In fact, I'm suggesting a "digg for a digg" tradeoff is happening, so articles are being dugg based only on inclusion into this group of people, and not on content. - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -4/+1This is beyond me liking the article. This is blatantly obvious and you are a part of it. Crap like this has been making it to the front page for a while now, and it's clear that the only way this will stop is for somebody to promote the knowledge.
Now what I want to ask you, is this. Have you ever dugg an article or submission based solely on the fact that a friend on your list shouted it to you? Have you ever expected the same in return from said friend(s)? - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -5/+1further proof: http://digg.com/movies/The_Evolution_of_Scream_Que ...
Just check any of their profiles and see what they've been digging. - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -6/+1Is your profile picture ***** Hannah Montana?
What the *****...
No, seriously, "like duh!"
What. the. *****. - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -7/+2Eat a *****, *****. Merely pointing out that it's ***** like this that is the reason stupid articles have been making it to front pages. People digg the 'top diggers' stories in return for them digging their ***** for submissions.
Then again, you're shouting this trite *****, are you not? - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -7/+1May I repeat?
WHAT THE ***** IS THIS *****?
how many unique profiles do we actually have here... - inactive, on 10/29/2008, -11/+4Please don't make front page. Please don't make front page. Please don't make front page.
I think this is a testament that digg is turning into the next form of mindless email forwardings.
Soon to follow: IF YOU DON'T DIGG THIS COMMENT UP, a man will come into your house tonight, rape you, kill you, eat your cat, ***** your sister, and you will not find true love for 7 years. -
