It seems to me that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the topic, unless by "inherent gender biases in this country" you meant "inherent gender DIFFERENCES in THE HUMAN RACE."
I am fully supportive of the of advances that have been made and continue to be made to create a level playing field for men and women professionally, socially, etc but women and men are NOT the same.
One example I can think of would be fundamental differences in hormone levels and brain/body chemistry that determine...well, just about ***** everything. You're absolutely right. There are other issues that people fail to consider. This woman, being as old as she is, has probably been around the block a few times. What would happen if the 13-year-old happened to contract an STD from her? This is something that could leave him with a life-long legacy- and certainly not a pleasant one at that.
