- Silentshadow900, on 10/12/2007, -4/+52THEY'RE FREE.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+45Expected Net loss for Taco Bell, $5.06
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45It may have smelled gross because the occupants of the vehicle have bad hygene, but I doubt that the sealed sauce packets would have had any odor to them.
- bleonard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36I've got a few hundred random packets from ff restaurants in my fridge. they never go bad. Plus you never know when you'll want Fire sauce with a witty comment written on the package.
- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28I think this was my friend. Every time he goes in, he takes about 2 handfuls of the fire sauce with him.
- GorGenator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Wow... the article is lame because your a racist. Thats something I haven't heard before, nice to know that. Get your head out of your ass.
- mikef98765, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14wow i sure hope they dont use these packets... I'd say that you'd have to be stupid to do that but... most of the taco bell employees i know ...
- TriZz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They said it was approx 25,000 packets total over a span of 3 years.
3 years = 1095 days
25,000 / 1095 = approx. 23 packets a day
With that, it would assume that they ate at Taco Bell everyday for 3 years. Masks won't help - just locate the fattest mother ***** in town, then point and laugh at his penchant for packet pocketry. - Firemanjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13That's funny! I can't imagine what the poor cashier was thinking when a masked people where walking in with trash bags.....
- creep303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13What throws me off the most is that they were masked.
I mean, why did they mask themselves? Out of fear of getting arrested for condiment theft? - rushiku, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Didn't the 'Salsa Escape' Mythbusters air about 3 years ago?
"Dude, *puff puff*, why are we stealing these again?"
"To break out of jail, duh, pass that"
"'ere, we're going to jail?"
"Well, thanks *puff puff* yah dude, for stealing all the sauce *kaff*"
"So, stop bogarting, we're stealing the sauce to break out of jail, and we're going to jail because we're stealing sauce?"
"Exactly, dude! 'ere"
"Maybe if we take the sauce back, *puff puff* they won't throw us in jail..."
"Dude, c'mon, how would we break out...wait a second, dude! you're a genius! We'll be heroes" - carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13At the local taco bell, we're not allowed to grab our own sauce, the workers have to do it for you.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Ah college.. One time some friends and I purchased 97 cases of Coca-Cola (sale +coupons -limit = $1/case) and lined a dorm room with the cans. We just figured if we got thirsty we'd just grab one off the wall. Picture a wall of coke cans stretching 8 feet to the ceiling..
You can probably guess how this story ended. - negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Did it end with a trip to the dentist?
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Bringing all those packets back at once is probably more cruel than taking them in the first place. Hilarious.
- othersomethings, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The police quotes make me think the employees were rather alarmed by 10-15 masked individuals in their store.
- eklass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10you're only 1 ebay listing from finding out
- spudge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I can't imagine how much taco bell you'd have to consume to even acquire that many sauce packets!
- gdmfsob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Maybe you forgot there was 10-15 of them?
- Tunak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9ganja involved??? I THINK SO!!
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6 That's not a big deal... I have about three tupperwares full. I use them to clean my silver.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Is this really against the law? I mean, they offer those sauce packets for free and don't specify a limit of quantity. :O
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"you're only 1 ebay listing from finding out"
Well, that and about 500 trips to Taco Bell. - Klitzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is why I love Digg.com
- merm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6That sauce is made of completely processed ingredients. Vinegar + processed hot peppers isn't exactly going to rot or get moldy.
- ElectroBot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well where's the picture?
- speel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm glad I got that ***** outa my trunk.
- sm4llphry, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11haven't you ever gotten sauce packets with sauce from a broken packet on them? Besides you can't tell me that NO packet out of SIX garbage bags broke. I doubt they were individually inspected upon return.
- a3r0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4With one man crushed under the weight of all those cans falling over?
- RudeAtTheMorgue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well, these thugs should be arrested for packeteering.
- scottmoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bastards... that is why there weren't any fire sauce packets last time I ate at the "Bell"! Whats worse is now that's all they will have.... a bunch of tainted sauce packets...
- bolteddown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I haven't gotten to use the "Block/Report this User" function in a while... time to break that streak.
- dstan108, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I wish I was in college again... where else can 15 guys have the time, patience and perseverance to do something like that... As far as harmless pranks go, its pretty respectable I think
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I live in the UK and we don't have Taco Bell. I have tried it in the States though and love it.
Taco Bell should branch over to the UK I say, i'd buy it when drunk. - josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah... I love the taste of Taco Bell Sauce... It's just like mom used to make...
Aye DiosMio... - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I hope Taco Bell didn't use the returned packets... who knows what they may have done with/to them. Sure, the odds are small, but TB would be responsible if even 1 of those packets had something harmful injected/inserted.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2oh man this is making me crave taco bell fire sauce now, same effect happened to me when with wendys chili last year when the news came that they put human fingers in their chili. oh well i probably wont get any of the special sauce at my taco bell
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Drunk Taco Bell is the best. There's a reason they're open after bar close. No fast food burger comes close to the satisfaction Taco Bell provides after a case of beer.
- kob0724, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Look out Al Capone! I think you might have been out done.
- sanman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Personally, I really love the taste of Taco Bell sauce. Does anyone know of any recipes online that have a similar taste? I would love to find a way to make it myself.
- anareric, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's HOT
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thats a lot of money. If anyone would even buy them.
- pinico, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think this is only half of the story, mainly because i don't want to think that someone is idiotic enough to return three your old sauce to a restaurant that can't use it. Now, if they would have shat three years worht of sauce right there in the Taco Bell on cue, i wouldn't question their motives.
- ihatepeterh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i heard they just got a big shipment of fire sauce, actually. they're not out anymore.
- ihatepeterh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+125000 packets... and that's what they saved up. i've never gone to taco bell and not used at least 12 packets of fire sauce... assuming they're anything like me (and i'm probably like 99% of taco bell's clientelle) that means that over a three year span they actually took/were given 36000-ish packets of sauce. that's ***** wild.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I use three packets of fire sauce per taco, and order the combo containing three regular soft tacos Fresco style.
- MyDigitalSin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ rushiku
I've also seen (i haven't done it myself though) that hot sauce can be used to clean pennies...restore dirty crappy ones to shiny... it just strips off the dirt and the ffirst few layers of it. - DRCross, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Duh @sanman why dont you just take some like these guys did! ;) Why would you ever try and make you own when you can so obviously steal as many as you like!
- acteon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1During my freshman year, we stole over 40,000 packets from Taco Bell, in less than 1 year, and used the packets to fill our RA's jeep. An image can be found at collegehumor.com
