- inactive, on 05/27/2009, -3/+82How terrible is it to be a widow on your wedding day.
- ZombieSociety, on 05/27/2009, -5/+63Because it's not addictive like marij--
...because it can't kill you like marij--
...because it has numerous beneficial qualities unlike mari--
...because you don't drink and then kill someone with a car like mari--
...because they can tax it. - inactive, on 05/27/2009, -0/+43After going to a lot of weddings, I can't believe this doesn't happen more often.
- inactive, on 05/27/2009, -4/+38His face turned black? That does not sound like alcohol poisoning. Perhaps he was poisoned in another fashion... after all.. it takes some serious venom and trickery to get a man to marry these days. I think he was poisoned by his wifes vagina.
- badwithcomputer, on 05/27/2009, -2/+31rest in peace. condolences to the family.
sad that "till death to us part" lasted so briefly for this couple. - pimpofpixels, on 05/27/2009, -0/+29Note to self: don't do that.
- Adelhas, on 05/27/2009, -3/+29Lucky guy. Only had to deal with the good part of marriage.
- rjpedigo, on 05/27/2009, -0/+23So what your saying is there is an open position for a job at an insurance company?
- KingGorilla, on 05/27/2009, -2/+24or is there...
Weekend at Bernie's 3: Honeymoon with Bernie! - KingGorilla, on 05/27/2009, -0/+21Excuse me fellas. Am I to understand that Carlos Santana has made a champagne?
- Vladamar, on 05/27/2009, -6/+25Way to add the 2!
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Groom_Drinks_Too_Much_At ... - rmmcclay, on 05/27/2009, -0/+16I'm not Taiwanese but I was married in Taiwan. My in-laws protected me by giving me glasses of tea that looked like whiskey as we went around the 200 or so guests gan-bei-ing (literally "dry cup", toasting) at the traditional reception.
What a tragedy for all involved.
- PacketScan, on 05/27/2009, -2/+17Should have been smoking the reefer
- snurfle, on 05/27/2009, -0/+14Dude.
Too Soon.
Wait till tomorrow. - Abdax, on 05/27/2009, -1/+14Well I've heard that once you get married, your life is over...
- rsmith32, on 05/27/2009, -0/+12Should have stuck to Santana DVX sparkling wine. It makes you want to have sex, among other things.
- ZombieSociety, on 05/27/2009, -2/+12Terribly sad for the bride, but it's hard to have sympathy for anyone who drinks themselves to death. AT ONCE.
- altgeeky1, on 05/27/2009, -0/+9I suppose this is a more sensational headline than "drunk man chokes on food".
Which is why his face turned black.
Now out will come the "why do we allow this to be legal?" comments from the neo-prohibition crowd... - sonnysavage, on 05/27/2009, -0/+9He might be better off...
- KatherineVolk, on 05/27/2009, -1/+10I can't believe it's not butter!
- badenglishihave, on 05/27/2009, -0/+9That's right, *****.
- darkciti2, on 05/27/2009, -2/+10Well, duh. There wouldn't be a honeymoon.
- CoD4, on 05/27/2009, -0/+8At least it wasn't raining
- badenglishihave, on 05/27/2009, -0/+8Chuck Norris *can* believe it's not butter.
- Janinco, on 05/27/2009, -2/+9How awful!
- Cepster, on 05/27/2009, -0/+7and isn't it ironic, don't you think?
- WantToPlay, on 05/27/2009, -3/+10OMG!
- BrokenVisage, on 05/27/2009, -0/+6Why are you being thumbed down? Obviously the submitter knew this article was already posted.. bury the submission.
- 0scarrrr, on 05/27/2009, -0/+6Says his face turned black. I thought it was the opposite.
- shanidachine, on 05/27/2009, -0/+6dude must have been preeetty *****...
- bixby1, on 05/27/2009, -3/+8The Champagne wasn't Korbel.
- MaxIsBored, on 05/27/2009, -0/+5Well, at least he doesn't have to deal with the wedding expenses.
- Ascus, on 05/27/2009, -0/+5Yes, wait until tomorrow so I can apply today.
- mjk340, on 05/27/2009, -0/+5Could be related to a genetic deficiency common in Asians that keeps their livers from metabolizing alcohol.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_flush_reactio ... - JinxCrow, on 05/27/2009, -2/+7"Drink In Moderation" Fail.
- shortricekid, on 05/27/2009, -4/+9at least he died happy.
- HughesAP, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4A little too ironic, and yeah I really do think
- lfroker, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4Its his own fault, what a ***** idiot.
- Hellahulla, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4Well, at least it was a promise adhered to, unlike most marriages these days.
- ASSASSYN360, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4Drink in moderation.
- Orchid64, on 05/27/2009, -3/+7Articles like this are very important for Digg. It gives all the dateless wonders who comment a chance to make smart ass remarks about marriage and how he is lucky to have dodged a bullet. Keep telling yourself something you'll never have sucks so you'll feel better about it.
- wing05, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4Heh.
No alcohol addiction for me, but a digg addiction.
I really should put more time between waking up and logging on and replying.
I'd wondered just what would happen if I drank more than a couple of drinks in a short period of time. I'd guess this guy's face going flush and maybe blood vessels under the skin bursting and thus his face going black was a result. Internal bleeding to death?
On a related note, I've been told to take a zantac before drinking if I wanted to mitigate the "Asian flush" effect and actually discover what a buzz feels like. Unfortunately/fortunately, I've not had the opportunity to figure on wanting to get a buzz and the foresight to take the pill. - inactive, on 05/27/2009, -0/+4Groom got off lucky if you ask me.
...
NO ONE DID!!1 - kelmaster1, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3Ya, face turns black? Doesn't it go pale?
- inactive, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3only married people have sex.
- inactive, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3He's doing it wrong he's supposed to get her drunk.
- DephexTwin, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3Good point. You don't want to sound desperate. Make it seem like you just happened to apply for the job by waiting at least a day.
- Hellahulla, on 05/27/2009, -1/+4Emotionally it's a *****, but legally does it stand. Did they consummate the marriage ... does it even matter in Taiwanese law? This could bring up some complications.
- LordVance, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3Where *does* it matter? As far as I understand it, not consummating a marriage is grounds for an annulment in some churches, but consummating it is not a requirement for the marriage to be legal.
- gpcprog, on 05/27/2009, -0/+3As an old jokes goes "the guy got saved at very last moment!"
