- octophobic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Shark / human relations have never been more tense.

- ellvis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12teaches him for being friendly and swimming to close!
- Coven, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14The article states that sandbar sharks are not normally associated with attacks on humans. You can be damn sure that this one will be if it is returned to the wild. Wouldn't you be pissed too?
- YuriSakazaki, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12***** NASA
- Seifey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9With his feet, I'd imagine.
- Aereo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I am thoroughly convinced that the man in the center of the photo is not wearing pants. Now that's some badass shark wrestling.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9They were biologists. RTFA. It was too friendly, so they think it might be sick and are treating it.
- unbreakable, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Sorry for comment hijack.
Everyone is bashing the biologists for abusing a peaceful/friendly shark just bcos he was too close to the shore. But that's not the case.
Read this follow up (someone posted this link below and was hidden by the stupid Digg comment system):

The biologists took the shark because they knew it was in distress. The shark died a few days later. - bobcatred, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6http://www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/article_12112.shtml
For the record, the biologists caught it because they thought it was in distress, not to please the crowd. - PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6So they didn't get sued for not doing that if the shark decided to attack someone.
- SurrJRS, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Because authorities had closed off the water to bathers.
- sleastack, on 10/10/2007, -11/+16So thats how it works? I can go into the ocean and grab whatever I want if it don't belong to someone else? FUkin Humans..
- robotvsmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5is it just me...or is that the smallest looking 7 foot shark?
- Gathalimay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Because. . .uh. . .splashing with it is animal cruelty. . . . ?
Yeah I can't think of anything better -_-
They can fine you for putting your life in danger. Just like seat belts. If you are alone in your car without a seat belt, they can fine you for not keeping yourself safe. Yeah I don't get that. . .I guess I could understand if your passengers didn't have seat belts but if the driver doesn't care enough about his own life then why? can anyone explain?
EDIT: although. . . if your body went flying out of the car you could cause other accidents. However, that still doesn't explain this. - slipkn0tz23, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_Awards
Read that article while you think about never commenting again. - bobcatred, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They captured it because they thought something was wrong with it, and they were right. She died in the aquarium. Apparently it had been harpooned and had swallowed a couple of fish hooks which caused internal damage.
http://www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/article_12112.shtml - djAnakin, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Mrs. Arelsberg....
Who?
Mrs. Broererur...
Who is it?
Flowers.
Flowers for whom?
Plumber, Ma'am.
I don't need a plumber. You're that clever shark, aren't you?
Candy gram.
Candy gram: my foot! You get outta here before I call the police. You're the shark and you know it.
I..I'm only a dolphin, Ma'am.
A dolphin? Well OK.
RAWR!!!! - kywy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5For your information the Shark finally died. That's the price to pay to keep the tourist happy......
- ruds, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Is anyone here a marine biologist?"
- wisam, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4You can see paramedics keeping bystanders away with two photographers slightly closer to the action.
The question is, how did the photographer of that pic actually get into the water? - Koldkompress, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I will ***** you up with a crumpet, then scald your eyes with tea, Bitch.
- sirdaz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5No, sorry. I couldn't let this one pass. Steve Irwin was in a league of his own.
- kindrobot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"oh, I can see right up them shorts..I got a whole buncha rosy teeth to chew you with..dah-nuh dah-nuh"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SOIgZGDcr4 - dewfish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2dugg for "landshark".
- davidsmero, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Kind of messed up to take a non-threatening animal from habitat for no reason. I can imagine it would cause a lot of stress for the shark. Isn't it the same for me to catch a shark and throw it in my pool because I want to?
Sorry if I don't make any sense, I just smoked a bowl. - MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Whats the big deal? This was a normal practice run -- This kind of thing happened all the time during the cold war.
The shark was just testing to make sure he could swim around people and the men were just practicing taking sharks out of the water. - mrswirl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately your reference is just a little too obscure for most of the people on this site.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Why did that make me laugh?
- MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think the word you are looking for is hooks?...
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4"Police fined several people who ventured into the water to splash around with it." WTF? If you're stupid enough to do this, why do you get fined? Makes no sense.
- mrswirl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well! That was quite an angry shark! But I managed to escape with only a few bruises and a shattered left testicle. Next week we'll look for more of these beautiful creatures, so we can learn more about them by pissing them off immensely. Thanks for watching.
- dudu84, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For those who said that "the shark died because of the rescue", I can tell you that after the shark died they found 2 objects in his stomach (I don“t know the word, the thing that you use to hook the fishes) that had provoked him and internal hemorragy and he had lost his ability to swim.
We heard all the details here in Spain... - Vikkiey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Maybe the shark just never got the chance to answer the question to the best of his ability.
Maybe he was like Ariel the Mermaid, and just wanted to know what it was like to walk on land.
Its 'Vaguely Possible'
I, personally, feel bad for the shark. - Monstarr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Me thinks the shark was a terrorist.
- Tippis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2RTA: they had a reason. It's not natural for this particular kind of shark to come that close to the shore, and it's particularly not natural for it to just merrily swim around, rather than buggering off to be left in peace, when people are pestering it.
- jellygraph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2poor shark
- break99, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Thanks for the clarification. I too could have bash the biologists. Misleading article at best.
- truman48, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I saw mommy and daddy wrestling once, except mommy used handcuffs and not a net
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"I could see straight into the eye of the great fish!" "Mammal."
- 0ceanic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i still think that shark did the dumbest thing of any shark, and he died for it.
