- h4mx0r, on 06/21/2008, -5/+318I'm still waiting to see a shot of some guy who will run and jump on to the google van, so his face would be all stretched and blown up on the street view.
- wardrox, on 06/21/2008, -1/+168Did you see that cat in that window! Google have gone too far this time.
- peterjmag, on 06/21/2008, -2/+159You have just given my life a purpose. Thank you.
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -11/+115I love how the Telegraph forgot to read their article before posting it: "7) A driver is pulled over by police - and the whole word gets to see" - which word gets to see?
- bastardprince, on 06/21/2008, -4/+84can't believe they skipped the shots of the topless sun bather on the roof, but lol at the kid falling off his bike. He was probably thinking "***** its the google car, do something cool, balls........"
- Elliuotatar, on 06/21/2008, -9/+85I find it amusing that British people are afraid of google's cameras, and their miniscule chance of being caught at one embarassing moment in time on them, but they're perfectly fine with thousands of police cameras watching their every move.
- soopertoll, on 06/21/2008, -0/+65Cats in a window... We'll meet in court!!!11!
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -5/+66Nothing that you can SEE or PHOTOGRAPH from public property is PRIVATE. Year after year, people just don't get it. And you have stories like this with idiotic statements like, "You get pulled over by a cop, for all the world to see." Yeah, no *****, you're on a public street and 300 cars drove by while you were getting a ticket.
Same thing goes for blurring out people's license plates: They're on display on a public street. Not only that, you can't just look up license plates on the Internet. The paranoia over this betrays the ignorance of those who suffer from it.
The point is, there's not a single "private" moment in any of these pictures. - Olivaise, on 06/21/2008, -4/+63And isn't the Telegraph simply spreading these images even further…?
- FoxOrian, on 06/21/2008, -0/+56I'm surprised they didn't have this little number posted up there:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=&ie=UTF8&layer=c&cbl ...
The god damn car was ON FIRE. - Oranjy, on 06/21/2008, -2/+56Now I'm really confused about number 6. The cat needs privacy?!?!?!?
- yacks, on 06/21/2008, -6/+59Look ma! I'm on Google Maps!
- NicksVideo, on 06/21/2008, -2/+39You'd think with how much Street View has been expanded since its launch that sites would have new 'funny moment' images to post, and not just the same few images again and again.
- Dylson, on 06/21/2008, -4/+40Nobody picking up a prostitute?
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -4/+34I think you'll find that we're not fine with cameras everywhere!
- Incomp3tnt, on 06/21/2008, -2/+30Where's the shooting, the drug deal and the woman falling into her trunk? They've missed all the best ones!
- hocusposus, on 06/21/2008, -1/+28http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&geocode=&layer=c&i ...
boobs - aenima987, on 06/21/2008, -3/+27Topless sunbather? Pics or it didn't happen.
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -3/+26Google map links or it didnt happen.
- Realnemesis, on 06/21/2008, -4/+26and now I'm gonna find that house and get a free cat.....
- insanebrain, on 06/21/2008, -0/+18I think you need to read your own book.
- renegade334, on 06/21/2008, -2/+20Uh, that's not Street View... That's Google Earth or Google maps in sattelite mode...
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -0/+17Wow dude, you're a dick. Thanks for the link.
- spanglegluppet, on 06/21/2008, -0/+17Yes, cause a spellcheck would realise that 'word' isn't a word and correct it.
/sarcasm - inactive, on 06/21/2008, -1/+17KML's or it didn't happen.
- maexus, on 06/21/2008, -0/+16Close the god damn window. If I'm on a public area/property or street, I can look at and take pictures of your house, even in to your windows if they are open. There is no law stopping me from doing this. There is also something called a reasonable expectation of privacy, which you void if you leave your windows and curtains open. Anyone who thinks there is privacy concerns about google taking pictures on a PUBLIC street is a moron.
- 471776, on 06/21/2008, -1/+16You couldn't make out the driver or the plates anyway, so I'm not sure why people seeing that would be an issue.
- MtheoryX, on 06/21/2008, -2/+17Digg is not your personal search engine...

Now hush it, lazy. - WCL23, on 06/21/2008, -4/+18"The internet giant is reluctant to discuss future plans, but its camera cars have been spotted in Italy and Spain this year, and experts believe it is only a matter of time before Street View arrives in Britain."
Um, it already has? I personally saw a black van with "GOOGLE" written all over it and a 360 degree camera setup mounted above it in Cardiff the other day. I'm assuming that was one the Google StreetView cars? Particularly as it was driving up and down every side road in a row. Unless the driver was accidentally taking a dozen wrong turns in a row? - LoveAndSeagulls, on 06/21/2008, -0/+14http://www.divinecaroline.com/article/32719/49405- ...
- TheDiceMan, on 06/21/2008, -1/+15'and the woman falling into her trunk'
Where is this holy grail you speak of? - gannondork, on 06/21/2008, -0/+11Every time I try that some stupid bear beats me to the girls.
http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/1313/pedobear17 ... - BarriedaleNick, on 06/21/2008, -0/+11I saw one last week in Dulwich,South London, had a google logo and a camera on a pole. Had to resist the temptation to run alongside it making obscene guestures...
- CrunkeD, on 06/21/2008, -2/+12HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, cats in a window xD . who'd have thought it.
- MtheoryX, on 06/21/2008, -0/+10Like kids falling down on bikes, right? That ***** is so unusual.
- Ghorkvos, on 06/21/2008, -1/+11I think its an attempt to prevent future lolcats by avoiding any pictures of cats.
- megamod, on 06/21/2008, -0/+10i can't believe they haven't gotten anyone having sex in public...that would be a nice one too.
- jgzman, on 06/21/2008, -0/+10rainbow runner?
- wickensworth, on 06/21/2008, -0/+9you don't understand, the cats were naked
- MtheoryX, on 06/21/2008, -1/+10My apologies; I don't know what possessed me to be an asshat like that.
YW for link. - nascentia, on 06/21/2008, -6/+15You know, this article actually makes a good case that Street View could be challenged in the US, especially the photo of the guy walking past the Adult Store.
I only know the journalism side, but I know that if a broadcast team caught that same image, they could and would be successfully sued for that very implication, because of US privacy laws. It's illegal to use footage or photos like that - that's why when you see a story on, say, all the fat people here in the US, you only see neck-down shots, or waist-down of people walking down a street. - g33b33, on 06/21/2008, -0/+9pilot fish?
- kevro, on 06/21/2008, -3/+12OMG a cat in a house window......the shame.
People need to stop complaining public streets are public. - surfacewound, on 06/21/2008, -2/+10I fail to see how any of this is private. Every person in all of the images were clearly out in public; it's not like someone was in their house changing clothes with the window open.
And if that were the case, though I could certainly understand them wanting Google to take that down, it wouldn't be illegal as long as the picture was taken on public (or your own private) property. - StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+7Forgot to close blinds,
Medium sized family,
Gave casual wave.
There, I haikuized it for you. - Ghorkvos, on 06/21/2008, -0/+7That could be some sort of ploy to lure you in and fool you through the element of surprise.
- TheLoneHoot, on 06/21/2008, -0/+7So fat people can walk around in public for all the world to see, but if they show up on TV in those same places they might be mistakenly construed as being, what, FAT?! I don't dispute that some sort of rule must exist because I see the same neck down shots you mention, but frankly it just doesn't make sense.
"Your honor it is our position that my client was simply walking down a public street and the defendant's TV crew blatently caused them to look fat."
"Counselor, clearly you understand that your client is in fact fat."
"Well your honor, of course my client is morbidly obese and was on a public street waddling to an all you can eat Chinese buffet, but it still wasn't fair for the TV crew to tape them in a public place because everybody knows the camera adds 400 pounds. That might give the impression that my client is fat." - jimmiss, on 06/21/2008, -1/+8Well... we're waiting!
