1. Vote Ron Paul
2. Stop using MySpace
3. IE is for losers - gormenghast, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2329. P.S. : IQ is an outdated way of determining relative intelligence. buried. the ideas arent even that novel.
- Grogtron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Maybe recognize an article with no apparent scientific basis or citation as fluff at best and utter ***** at worst?
- dustblaaze, on 10/13/2007, -1/+151. Game on
Turn on your PC. Modern games are great for making your mind work at amazing speeds. It gives your brain a chance to think strategically, and keeps it working.
Dugg down for inaccurate, I do this all day and I dont feel any smarter. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Nope, sorry, your still a loser (rich maybe) but yeah, still a loser, enjoy your antivirus and anit spyware apps taking up your time and eating your cpu cycles ahhh refreshing
- evilesttoast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I make more than you and I use Firefox
Me>You - Tiak, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15IQ tests measure how good you are at IQ tests, nothing more, nothing less... The methods of thinking promote by these "cheats" may just be more intuitive to intelligent people. than others, and thusly correlated with performance, becoming more able to enter into the mindsets promoted here legitimately boosts what one scores, which really, is the only thing IQ tests are suppose to measure....
- Tiak, on 10/13/2007, -0/+8By admitting to using IE, you just lost at digg.
Case closed. - reporterjason, on 10/27/2007, -0/+8You need to say that in a funky robot voice, WIP :D
- fiveyearswinter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Watching "Friends" raises your IQ by a point. Right...
- fuyoh, on 10/13/2007, -0/+7Mahhjong !
This game really help you keep active your brain and boost your IQ too. - andrewcsayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Stand on a milk crate?
- RobotBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Pretty big claims for an article with no citations. Some of the suggestions might, others might not. But the argument's lost when the only way to judge any of them is by the authority of some guy on the internet. I also loved the ending jab against "experts". You know, what with their evidence, training, book learnin' and what not.
- FLaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6int IQ = IQ + 10;
?? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6another useless brain article. stop digging these
- saggygrandma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I actually agree with that to a certain point, when your not getting any you spend way to much time thinking about girls instead of more constructive things.
- argeaux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+41. Turn off the TV
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -3/+726. Go Herbal.
Legalize it. - neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"f you can "cheat a few extra points" on an IQ test, then it's not an accurate reflection of your IQ."
A real IQ test is always a good measure of your IQ (well, in normal testing situations) but the real question is if IQ is a good measure of your intelligence. - DocHoliday22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There was a good documentary on BBC TV that explained that you can increase your IQ by about 10 - 25 points max by learning how they work. This doesn't necessarily mean you are cheating but "learning". The guy used a basic example of shapes in an IQ test. In order to do the IQ test you need to be able to differentiate between shapes, something we learnt when we were younger. The same principles are applied here, you just learning how they work.
- Ecrivaine33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Now I have another reason to love documentaries. They boost your IQ!
- resplence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3But from 96 on it's a whole new story.
- imikedaman, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3He was joking.
- DracoFlameus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Well u made at least one thing clear... "mensa" has much to do with arrogant bragging without limits. Congratulations, u are the best and the rest of us worthless creatures are laughable nonsense. You would be better off, if we were all dead. You are right. Why don't we just shut up and listen to our great wise leader. Oh we are soo unworthy. Sorry for breathing ur precious air.
- Rodman930, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's not cheating. It's putting your mind in optimal condition. These "tips" probably help with taking any other kind of test too.
- hulez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In Other news. How to reduce your IQ by 50 points. Reply to me and I'll tell you how!
- MacMixMaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You can't use a variable before it has been defined and initialized. My IQ > your IQ.
- vkuuumar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6What is a few extra points in your IQ going to do?
- TomRitchford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is dead stupid. There are no citations or any other way to tell if he's just making it up or not. Some of this stuff is folk wisdom, some of it might well be wrong, some might be right, there's no way to tell.
- phenolholic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i disagree with IQ being static. drugs (and not just pot, i'm referring to hard drugs) seriously lowers your IQ. however, i bet hallucinogens actually increase your IQ.
- wiihateeveryone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I hope English isn't your first language.
- Bakkster, on 10/27/2007, -1/+3My 'IQ' is between 140 and 170, and I agree that IQ is *****. Just because you can't recognize patterns, have a large vocabulary, etc doesn't mean you're not as intelligent, it just means you can't recognize patterns, etc.
- KloroFormd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was referring to the part of the article that basically said "Don't eat lots of carbs, that releases insulin" then the next point says "Chew gum, that releases insulin."
Just seems to contradict itself. - Goobernutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Get a Mac! Ha ha. Just kidding. I'm waiting for the daily Digg Mac vs PC "debate", and I'm getting bit antsy.
- AlienX3.5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16. Deep Breath
If I hadn't read the description I would have thought it meant something completely different. - Sino, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1Maybe our president should read this...
- scottykempf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Missed it....by that much.
- picsectionpleez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn- you gotta do all that ***** for just 10 measly points? I think I'd rather just have an extra cup of coffee....
- neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1IQ is far from outdated. It's the leading way of looking at and measuring intelligence. That doesn't mean that it is the best way but it is very current. You can always talk about Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences (really nice theory - I like it - but there isn't a lot of empirical support for it) but IQ is THE dominant way of measuring intelligence.
I realize how impect our intelligence tests are but they are hugely reliable and pretty valid as well. - DontGiveADamn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You've got it backwards.
- FLaw, on 10/14/2007, -2/+3
MOV IQ, EBP-14
ADD EBP-14, A

PUSH setup.0040DA94 /IQ + 10
PUSH EBX

Happy *****? - neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I was going to say something like that. I give IQ tests pretty much every week (I just gave one to a kid today). Most of the suggestions in the article are stupid for "boosting your IQ." They aren't necessarily bad things to do but they certainly won't boost your IQ by any significant amount. The best way to boost your IQ is to read voraciously, starting at a very young age. Then you also need to push yourself in school by taking hard classes and staying in school for as long as you can. Practicing memory strategies can help but the absolute best way is to read the dictionary. Playing with Lego blocks and doing puzzles can help a little but there is only so much you can do. We really are limited to some degree by what we've inherited, although being healthy can help.
I have to admit though that the list was written by someone who at least has taken an IQ test before (some of the suggestions are similar to some of the subtests on the WAIS, for example). - pauleric, on 10/27/2007, -2/+33 digits, you say? Since 100 is (by definition) average, a bunch of us can't break the 2 digit barrier. And I think that means something, I just can't figure out what exactly.
- brian1625, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1Some TV actually increases it. Shows aren't as passive as they used to be
- TSSaloic, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1If you insult someone on their intelligence, at least use proper English or a spell checker.
- skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ron Jeremy must have a IQ of 300.
- inobla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No *****, much more like -10 for watching friends 30 minutes a day.
- skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ub, I dunt know bout dat.
