- saleem, on 10/12/2007, -9/+270however holy you personally think the Pope is... you gotta admit-- he looks evil.
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+188My first thought when seeing the headline was, "how bad can it be?"
And then I clicked the link... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -20/+191Holly Moly ... SATAN.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -8/+161What do you tell a pope with two black eyes? Nothing God hasn't told him twice already.
Thank you, be here all the night! Don't forget to tip your waitresses! - flamingbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+91that was the part of the mass where he called all the younglings to the front and told them to turn to the dark side of the force.
- sanman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+93"Look into my eyes, young one. Surrender to the Dark Side!"
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -4/+87THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU
- upsidedork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+66No, he probably meant the Hitler Youth, of which the Pope was in fact made a member when he was young. ("Read up before writing something stupid" indeed.) Reportedly, he refused to attend meetings, possibly because they might discover that he was a Sith.
I like that the picture's caption starts with the word "Sacred," but it's very easy to misread it as "Scared." - Cannon13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+57Here's 5 minutes worth of photoshop:

- Geekbeard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40They summarized his speech on the BBC. I find it slightly hypocritical for a guy who lives in ***** palaces and regularly wears gold and has tonnes of people looking after him to complain about the western world ignoring the screams of the poor.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30lol, i smell a ytmnd
- flameboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25I just love how the article complete ignores his creepy expression in the picture.
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -10/+35Reuters isn't exactly famous for impartial photo editing.
- lahuard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Made this yesterday

- dfsiii, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23I wouldn't go calling the Catholic Church hypocritical just yet. They give billions in aid every year, not to mention all of the gifts local churches made. Their past is nothing pretty, though - that's where most of the stuff came from. Should they sell all of their history just to make a point? I don't especially think so... but just so you all know, the Catholic Church lists all of the Vatican in its insurance reports as a value of $1, because in all actuality, those items are priceless. They can't just go selling the Fisherman's ring, or any of the other papal relics.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I liked the previous pope better, his appearance was less "I eat babies for breakfast-ish". God should do something about this, we're waiting.
- OriginalLucid1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Huh? He means that Reuters has an agenda, and being nice to the Pope is not part of it.
- Darthypoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13He's referring to Reuters use of doctored photographs from Lebanon earlier this year.
- Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -11/+24Holy has 1 L, unless you of course really meant he was a Holly Mole, which is creepy in itself. I for one would bow to our new Holly Mole overlords.
- FSCer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@upsidedork
correct - I should have taken more time about this indeed
academic fraternities are often referred to as nazi youth groups or similar so you must excuse me for fighting a prejudicem.
about the Hitler-Jugend (Nazi youth group) - from what I have learned most kids didn't have a choice. Their parents are to blame in my opinion. - MordechaiCohen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Looks like he's force choking the ***** out of one of the kids.
Awesome. - contradictator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11What, lightning bolts from his hand?

Supreme Chancellor: Are you threatening me, Master Jedi? - MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Yeah, apparently he wears Prada too, what a hypocrite.
- TheOtherGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Membership in the Hitler Youth was compulsory from 1936.
Whatever you think of the Pope and given the alternative at the time (prison, execution), it is extremely unfair to hold something like that against him.. or his parents too FSCer.. - proliance, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10The Pope owns next to nothing, everything belongs to the Church. When JP II died, the only possessions he had left were his personal notes, and he asked for those to be burned. I don't know of any non-Catholic pastors that can say that. Why not complain about the Baptist church in CA. where there are two Dodge Vipers out front with license plates that read "Mr. Rev" and "Mrs. Rev."?
And for those complaining about the wealth of the Church, with an operating budget of about $1B, has less than many Universities, namely Harvard. Meanwhile, its the largest charitable organization in the world.
Complaining about money that could be used to feed the poor is very biblical however. Remember the name of the Apostle who complained that the women who poured the expensive ointment over the head of Jesus? He also said the money could be better used to feed the poor. He was Judas, and didn't fare too well in the eyes of Jesus.
But, yeah. That pic is damn scary. - knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Your daily dose of Vitamin B16.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10It's almost as bad as getting your headline ideas from fark.
- Amadeus2490, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You mean like this?

- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah! It's he's right guys, it's totally a conspiracy. And while we're on the subject, did you guys know that the Loch Ness Monster, U.F.O.s and Lee Harvey Oswald joined forces to kill JFK?
- morphos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Um, what part of "demons of the past are finally catching up with him and he is turning into something straight out of a horror movie" is correct and scientific evidence?
