- Bakie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6He is not making us digg it or giving us an incentive, we are just digging it because we think its a good resource (well i did anyway).
- aojon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Damn.. wish they had this stuff when I was in school, would have made life so much easier for me as a kid. Then again, if I weren't so stubborn back then, Adderall would have helped me even more with my concentration and procrastination issues. Kids these days have it made, and your site will definitely help kids get the extra edge they need without copying or cheating on tests and actually learn the material. Kudos to you on this project!
- andreww, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Nothing like extra resources to score well on AP tests.
With college costs going sky high, we need our kids to skip as many university modules as possible. - k-dogg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Saved you hours of meaningless work?
Hate to be the lone voice of reason here, but I wonder how all your teachers feel about this site?
All the work they do to try to ensure that you do the best you can on the test-- my AP teachers in high school worked their asses off-- only so that you can work off some online cheat-sheets. Nice.
You may get the score you want.. you may even get the job you want.. but you're not better off for NOT having done the work yourself. If you think work ethic is meaningless and that you'll continue to be able to corner-cut your way into higher paying jobs, don't kid yourselves.
The ends do not justify the means.
Flame away. - IronCannibal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Course-Notes saved my ass. I only studied for the U.S. history exam for a day (the day before even though my teacher told me not to) and I got a 4
- k-dogg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@CLKeenan:
Do you endorse kids reading Cliff's Notes (rather than the original text) as well?
Cliff's Notes are referred to as Study Guides. Some teachers (not ones I'd endorse, myself) even recommend them.
I don't object to study guides, per se.
But study guides don't enable kids to "only have to study for a day"...
And study guides-- or getting 5s on AP exams-- do NOT replace college.
The financial equation you refer to in one of your posts may add up mathematically.
But I think you'll be missing out on a lot more than you realize... the ROI on a good, well-rounded college education should include far more than first-year post-graduate salary.. - CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thats something we're working on- we just added chemistry a week ago and we're still working on more content for it. Check back soon :)
- CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That is so true- I can graduate a year early even though I'm taking a semester off of classes to work for GE Corporate as part of their Information Management Leadership co-op program. If I were to graduate early, it would be a difference of around $70,000. Either I pay $20,000 to go to school or I make $50,000 (conservative estimate).
- k-dogg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sure the site does some good.. but listen to these comments:
"saved me at least 100 hours of meaningless work"
"[got an A and] i never once opened my book"
"saved me hours of time to do stupid outlines for apush"
"I only studied for the U.S. history exam for a day"
Tutoring, mentoring, virtual study groups-- I'm sure this site aspires to do all these good things, and achieves them in some measure.
But look at what else it's doing.. reinforcing this notion that work is "meaningless", "stupid"... that getting an A without cracking the book open is the goal.
Hey look-- to you kids who are doing the right things with this site, enriching your own education and helping others, I commend you.
But speaking as someone who hires people into highly-paid technical positions on a regular basis, I'm not terribly impressed with some of the sentiment about work ethic and integrity that's on display here. - k-dogg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@newshotstudio
I realize that not everyone using the site is looking to cheat.
Research is research. The internet is a tool. I recognize that.
But how do you respond to these kids saying "This site is great. I only had to study for a day.."?
You know how my AP American History teacher worked around the fact that we didnt' have enough time to cover everything?
She held a 3 hour class every Saturday during the semester. - CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Glad it could help you out :)
- CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the support NewshotStudio :)
- kenvsryu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It helped me with my STD test.
- afruff23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1AP chem is not one of the harder ones. No offense, but this site is basically useless for certain subjects such as biology (if you have access to campbellbiology.com)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If you do attend a university of even high school you should use mynoteit (@ http://mynoteit.com ) you can store all your school info (including notes, scanned notes, audio notes, etc) in one place. There are so many great resources for students on the web nowadays it's unbelievable.
- CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Try again buddy- theres an entire group of people who love this site on facebook who are saying the same thing
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2683335253
Clearly you never took an AP class. - lemonaden, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This site really did save me. I was one of 2 people to get an A in my APUSH class, and i never once opened my book!! Dude you rule~!
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Too bad the resources for AP Chemistry are slim, especially considering it's one of the hardest classes AP offers. :(
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1exactly the same with me actually
the questions on the practice quiz section are exactly those my teacher uses for test/ quizzes, often in the same order. I, as well as half the class, would always have the answers..furthermore my teacher made us write notes on each ch, which we would all copy, more or less, from this site. I got a B last semester and I'm at an A this semester. This site saved me at least 100 hours of meaningless work.
AP US History is a drag. - pianogirl2422, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not just study guides either. Like CLKeenan said, there are people (like me) who answer questions, help you improve your essays, give you advice. Heck, I tutored someone this entire year with physics, helping him solve problems, working on his methods, teaching him the equations. We give help, not answers, and that's why the site works.
~is done venting. - dekalog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Course-Notes saved my ass. I only studied for the U.S. history exam for a day (the day before even though my teacher told me not to) and I got a 4
- droolingmnky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This site a big help, it saved my butt.
- neumadr, on 11/28/2007, -0/+0great free resource :)
- DCB360, on 04/11/2008, -1/+1I signed up for Digg just because I appreciated this site that much. I searched for A.P. help, but I couldn't find anything as useful. Most of the time I just got College Board websites.
Too bad I didn't see a Physics help section. The American section is great though. Only 10 days until that test.
@k-dogg- I have seen cheaters before and this site won't help them. I enjoy learning, but our class didn't have enough time to go deep into things. We did WW2 in one day. Tomorrow we are doing Vietnam for only that day. - CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yah tell me about it :(
- moxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yep, thats my plan...I figure why not knock out a couple thousand dollars with a little extra work now...
This is probably the most useful website on digg (for me), there is about week until the AP US exam!...I needed something like this bad...(review books get extremely boring...)
Thanks digg! - CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sure, there are other resources available out there but one thing that the website offers in addition to the study guides is the forum that can provide students help with their homework
- CLKeenan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I disagree. Many teachers tell their students about this website and link to it from their homepages. These are anything but cheat sheets. Since when did study guides become cheat sheets?
- G35B, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Why couldn't I have been born a few years later and been able to make full use of resources like this... Wonder if kids will end up dumber though, having the info so free to access and not much memory or learning involved in some things.
- Bosox958, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1My Teacher actually gives us this site at the beginning of the year, and then takes material from their practice quizzes for his tests. Lazy bastard...
- MaxS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1nice resource, wish I found this years ago
- trippydog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Looks like this will be a very useful resource for students. I'll certainly recommend it to anyone I know in High School.
- illusionize, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1this website saves my ass, like at least every week
- MR77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If I was still in school this would have been a life saver!
- Woodyoz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0saved me hours of time to do stupid outlines for apush, nice one!

- euphemizeme, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1THIS IS CLEARLY SPAM. Look at how many users had their "butts saved" by this website. Really?
I don't care how useful this resource is. It's getting buried because you tried to trick me and I can't be tricked again. - wolfzbane, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Wolfzbane was here. Digg me down bitches!
