And by the way, all common sense has disappeared from the government-controlled educational system years ago.
- Ebonsteel, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Okay ... I would have to assume that the position of "Supervisor of Teachers" should be held by someone possessing at least moderate intelligence. And yet he fires the teacher for practicing "wizardry" when he made a toothpick disappear?
Hey kids - watch while all common sense disappears from Florida! (Not like there was much to begin with). - brstilson, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1There is one word that explains everything in this article: Florida.
- doughpro, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Wasn't Harry Potter a big hit with the kids?
Hey Rushe Middle School, watch me pull a lawsuit out of my hat! How ridiculous. - coonass, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0The school officials responsible sound like my mother-in-law on a tear about "Satanists" back in the 1980s. Since then, she's stopped worshipping leisure-suited redneck perverts and is now bending the knee before the Rottweiler of God (if her new Roman Catholic friends only knew how virulently anti-Catholic she and her hubby were back in the days... ah, the jokes about stupid-ass cat-lickers never stopped).
- Demevon, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0How will the south rise again when they can't even overcome a bit of "witchcraft"?
- tntitans21399, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0Do we need to throw him in te lake and if he floats he is a witch and we kill him and if he doesn't float then leave him be.
This is a funny story. How did the childs parents not just laugh when they told them their teacher was a witch. - FaceOfED, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0This has to be heralded as one of the great acts of stupidity (so far) of the 21'st century, and for so many reasons
First point: ... for slight of hand! Are they serious? For slight of hand. I wish I was this guy's lawyer. I figure the legal fee's alone should be worth about $2M.
Second point:but for the Harry Potter series of books, they wouldn't have even thought of the word wizardry. And perhaps if they would have entertained a more colloquial phrase, like witchcraft, perhaps they would have stopped at the thought of "... protected under the Constitution of the United States..."
And this is the state of our education systems? Doh!
