payphone-project.com — Click on a state name or enter a zip code to see a list of US Postal Service collection stations (blue mailboxes) in that area. Every listing contains location information (most with maps) and scheduled pick-up times for that mailbox.

The only time I've ever used a USPS mailbox is when mailing a postcard while on vacation.

plus, for a lot of outgoing large packages, i prefer to drop them in the box on the way to work instead of leaving them sit in my box for anyone to steal

They removed every single mailbox in the entire county and surrounding counties after 9/11.
I complained to the post master and he said they were removed because it wasn't economical to drive around and pick up from them.
*****. Like the one at the grocery store. The postman drives up to the grocery store every day, parks out front and walks in to deliver their mail, along with the mail to the other stores in the little shopping strip.
He has to walk past the outdoor mailbox every day.
I think the real reason they removed them is because of unfounded FEAR and maybe because of vandals, but most likely just from ***** fear.
Now everyone in the area has to drive (burn gas and make pollution) and make a giant clusterf*ck in the post office parking lot.
Boy, thats great eh? One truck that went past the mailboxes anyway versus hundreds of cars that must now drive to the post office, burn gas and make pollution.
