- mjfadeaway, on 10/19/2009, -5/+177If all the female firefighters look anything like the woman in the photo, then I don't think we have a problem.
- Hamerhead33, on 10/19/2009, -3/+64pics or it didn't happen
- inactive, on 10/19/2009, -0/+60Before seeing the pic: OMG where?
AFTER seeing the pic: DO NOT WANT - CrazyEddie041, on 10/19/2009, -4/+60You generally don't get all that wet in a kitchen.
You know... just sayin'. - marmotjmarmot, on 10/19/2009, -1/+45"We're not sex objects"...Well, certainly not you, line the rest up an let us see after a soaking.
- kelpdip, on 10/19/2009, -0/+41Firefighting without a sportsbra seems reckless regardless.
- icndvl, on 10/19/2009, -2/+42Have any of them thought about possibly wearing another t-shirt underneath?
- grubwort, on 10/19/2009, -0/+34view pic in story and never want it to happen
- inactive, on 10/19/2009, -0/+29Probably because fire is ***** hot enough as it is.
On another interesting note, at my old highschool the principal was the main person in charge of the uniform (from what I remember, at least. It was some creepy old guy, anyway). The girls uniform? It went completely transparent when wet. The guys uniform didn't for some reason. All I want to know is where the hell they get this transparent-when-wet cloth stuff from, and who decided to make womens clothing out of it? - DjBlic, on 10/19/2009, -3/+28Holy Bajeebus! Please save us all, give them some non see through shirts *pokes eyes*
- SumoSniper, on 10/19/2009, -1/+25More hilarious is the fact that her last name is Berndt... And she's a firefighter.
- codered1322, on 10/19/2009, -1/+22Oh cool, wet t shirt female fireman.... *****
- IKORKYI, on 10/19/2009, -0/+19"we're not sex objects"
cause that was the idea when designing the shirts. - TMWO, on 10/19/2009, -1/+19pics or it didn't happen
- Tubbles, on 10/19/2009, -0/+15"...you always get wet from leaking hoses..."
only reason to read this article. - rentmitchum, on 10/19/2009, -6/+21Sounds like they're all fired up.
- SweetDaddyD, on 10/19/2009, -1/+15You mean like they do in the desert?
- ivosilva, on 10/19/2009, -1/+14Buried for misleading title.
I was SO disappointed. - RealmDown, on 10/19/2009, -2/+12***** are unimportant !? GTFO!
- mparker21311, on 10/19/2009, -0/+9At first I was like :D

- fquednau, on 10/19/2009, -0/+8I only opened the the page to see at what position this comment would be. 3rd position is ok.
- Awwzm, on 10/19/2009, -1/+8That was soooo not what I was expecting.
- joauri, on 10/19/2009, -2/+9OMG! That woman is ugly therefore her complaint is invalid! She should be in the kitchen making sandwiches with two black eyes and...
/s to the fullest extent - RealmDown, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6Remember --- "Skin to win"
- smemily, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6When you select for women that can carry heavy ***** hoses up stairs while wearing a few dozen lbs of firefighter jacket, you don't get lithe supermodels with perky boobs, sorry. You're going to get sort of amazonian women by definition.
- iguanapunk, on 10/19/2009, -1/+7In unrelated news: arsen rates have increased by 60% in the past month.
- codered1322, on 10/19/2009, -2/+8Then you wake up.
- cdude666, on 10/19/2009, -1/+6She is right, they definitely are not sex objects, nor ever will be... for anyone.
- smemily, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Yeah, I know. Nice to see that you can be putting your life on the line, hauling people out of burning buildings, and still the only thing that matters is you have a vagina and whether or not internet douches would deign to stick their penises in it.
- 510dustmite, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Agreed. My mother, a retired firefighter, can tear a phone book in half.
She rocks. - tradderjohn, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4May hats off to anyone in the RFS
Elvis rocks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_%28helicopter%2 ... - bubbadigg, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Actually, extra layers help keep the heat away and the body cool. I once worked a steel making furnace and we would wear thermal underwear (100% cotton), a long sleeve shirt (also cotton) and our fire resistant coat over that. Additionally, those that could would grow a full beard. Was it hot, yes, but not as hot as the 3,000° heat pouring out of the furnace.
Layers will keep the heat away, the same at they keep the heat in during the winter. - Idiggapony, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3Fortunately, the Rural Fire Service has already ordered a new batch of the yellow t-shirts that aren't see-through when wet: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26228291-421, ...
Me personally, I have never performed daring acts of lifesaving heroism, nor do I have breasts. But I would have thought that, when doing things like saving someone's life by carrying them through a burning building with a hundred pounds of gear on one's back, some sort of very supportive sports bra type undergarment would be in order anyway. - eric1071, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3i'd hit it......, What !!, Don't judge me !!, it's been a Dry Year !~!!!
- NOD32user, on 10/19/2009, -1/+4From what I've heard.
- Vindexus, on 10/19/2009, -13/+16I cannot believe how unimportant this whole thing is.
- windsorlad111, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3You're out of control with your celebrity name consonants.
- Shogi, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3I swear to god I thought the title said Wet T-shirt SHOW. God damn it.
- 4degrees, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3....as they buy their annual fireman calendar.
- bradleyland, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3Yeah, I'd really like to know who made that decision as well. I'm thinking we could probably get them nominate for a Nobel Peace Prize.
- Idiggapony, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3Here, by the way, are samples from that:
http://www.femalefirefighters.com.au/our_profiles - smemily, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2Newsflash, physically fit does not always equal skinny with big boobs. I'd like to see you complete some of the fitness tests these women had to pass.
For the record:
http://www.firecareerassist.com/html/firefighter_f ...
"High-rise Pack Carry/Stair Climb - The candidate is required to pick up a standard high-rise pack weighing about 75 pounds and carry it up five (5) floors using the exterior stairs of the drill tower. The candidate drops the high-rise pack on the 5th floor landing. "
and
"Forcible Entry - The candidate will use a 9-pound molded plastic sledgehammer to drive a 160 pound steel beam on the Keiser Force Machine a horizontal distance of five feet." - thinboyslim, on 10/19/2009, -1/+3Well that'll replace the whale in my nightmares
- 1x253, on 10/19/2009, -2/+4Yeah, seriously Vindexus, just because ***** aren't important to you doesn't mean they're not important to the rest of us. You're just plain selfish.
- TheShad0w, on 10/19/2009, -1/+3I understood the problem and even sided with them up till:
"It is demeaning there is no thought for women volunteers and what may happen if the shirts get wet. It shows a lack of respect for what women do in the RFS,"
Chances are its the same damn shirt used and issued to everyone for years. Its not their job to predict something may be a problem to women. They brought up the issue and so now it gets resolved. - mdmadph, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2Nope, just ability to cook, apparently.
- TeeJae09, on 10/19/2009, -1/+3That's like saying Canadians are British, which we most certainly are not.
- smemily, on 10/19/2009, -1/+2People fighting FIRES, which are HOT, you idiot.
