- blorc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+113I think it's hilarious that he actually thought he could fit through that crack without breaking the doors or at least getting stuck. I kinda wish he had become stuck instead. That would've been even funnier.
- joggan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+66The best part is being caught on camera and being made a fool on TV.
- RobBaird, on 10/10/2007, -3/+59In his defense, it's actually 2.00 if you don't have a plastic charlie card.
- lesty420, on 10/10/2007, -2/+49what happened to the good ol' days when you could hop the turnstile.
- SlackerCSB, on 10/10/2007, -3/+41Better video w/o the ad @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsglHuWfrGE
- bigmacholmes, on 10/10/2007, -4/+39Hilarious. Risk it all for a $1.70.... lol
- StillGaming, on 10/10/2007, -3/+37McDonald's happened.
- enchantedsky, on 10/10/2007, -9/+36Why is it always a Black guy who does things like this? Just reinforces certain stereotypes....
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -3/+30That guy isn't hopping anything...
- techweenie1, on 10/10/2007, -4/+27can somebody say lighten up?
- HarryBauzonia, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25It's not always a black guy.
Around here it's almost always some piece of white trash. Usually a meth user. - skyfire1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22I can't imagine how much of a moron this guy feels for stealing $1.70.
- santiago1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21 Fat maaan in a little coat.....
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21It's great how he keeps looking over his shoulder making sure noone is watching but never notices or even thinks of the security camera.
- daRoach, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Just be happy it's not Real Media.
- HarryBauzonia, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Well God forbid we should offend white trash and meth users. Especially since they're all getting college degrees and raising their kids so well.
- pygmalion, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17"[...] a middle-aged black male with a large build and shaved head [...]"
RTFA. - jkizzle, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20***** isnt a race as far as i know...
- TKDEE, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15I remember when those new gates first came out. I got off at Central Square on the redline planning on leaving through the back exit. When I got through the door I found that the exit was locked and there was no place to buy more tickets. So I got stuck in between the locked off exit and the subway gate until someone came up and let me out (set off the sensor from the other side and I ran through). I tried to get between the gates gap for a while first too, but didn't break anything just had it beep at me for a while.
- Jelfish, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Recognize that stereotypes are self-perpetuating. A story about a black man will strengthen your generalization about black men, but a story about a non-black man will likely not weaken your generalization about black men. Therefore, your collective evidence will only serve to strengthen your generalization, especially since most news is bad news. Thus, the only solution is to recognize this discrepancy and take all generalizations and stereotypes in context and with a grain of salt, and then realize that people are individuals and products of their own environment, not a skin color or race.
- SteelFrog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12There's a thick, sticky film covering the glass so that if it breaks, shards won't be sent flying all over the place.
- TomP, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13"When the man pried apart the 1-inch glass gate, it broke"
Doesn't really look like glass by the way it bends.... - jjk5, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Well the new CharlieCards are such a pain in the ass that I too have sometimes wanted to just crash through the gate.
- nobodyreal, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10You're an idiot. It's public transportation because it's available for members of the public to use, not because it's free and open. Should they just let anyone on for free? How would they pay for the energy?
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10You are evil and blocked.
- DIGGerPhelpsND, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Wow, you're fickle, but I'll comply. Watch it in sharp, crisp, clear youtube format here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cBdgj2XEuA - hockey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I thought he replied "HEY HEY HEYYYY!!!"
- techweenie1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9very stereotypical of white trash and meth users too...all groups, not just one.
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8This pisses me off. Because this is just one more thing to take into consideration when they are pricing the tickets. I am not talking about this guy in paticular just any person who vandilzes or does something stupid on the CTA. I use public transportation everyday and it is in everybodies best interest to keep it clean and do not act stupid and break things.
- SlackerCSB, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Because the guy is ummm, fat. A non-fatass would have fit through.....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+15Fat people are just funny to watch.
- meechwings, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Just ask the MBTA person who's in front of the machine. They usually have some lying around.
- SocialPoison, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10enchantedsky is an idiot...
And OMGWTFROFLMAOx2 wins the thread. - RealHyperX, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12Why is he labeled as a fat man and not a black man? It looks like all muscle to me!
- WallnutBoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Whoosh.

- IllBeBack, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Because you're a racist?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Oh sorry. Fat, Black Man Breaks Through Boston Subway Gate to Avoid $1.70 Fare. Is that more accurate for you?
- DIGGerPhelpsND, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Yeah, and the MBTA makes sure plastic cards are not advertised and impossible to find.
- Rileyper, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6digga please
- SteelFrog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Fail.
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Then who's going to pay for the trains?
- Navicerts, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Because the fact that he was black holds no relevance to the video, the fact that he was "fat" does. Why would it be worth saying "a black man"?
- Rileyper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4yes lower the quality to pixels in youtube
- ximinez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4My first guess would be the logical fallacy known as "confirmation bias".
- omarciddo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Are you out of your ***** mind, Gir? I'm Latino, but if I started using the word ***** I'd be the same as the KKK in the eyes of a black guy.
