- Calann, on 11/14/2007, -3/+91Are you telling me that TV ads are not completely factual? I thought if I joined the Marines, I would be given a sword and get to slay dragons.
- typicalusername, on 11/14/2007, -1/+45The Army told me I'd be an Army of One, and then I got off the bus and was with 50 other people sleeping in the same room!
- SteaminTmann, on 11/14/2007, -2/+45Waaaiiittt a minute... you mean to tell me If I wear Axe Body Spray, women WON'T randomly approach and molest me?
- fantasmacanino, on 11/14/2007, -8/+43I remember going to Pisco, Peru after the earthquake a couple of months ago. I had to stay there for 5 days, and McDonald's was kind enough to donate 10'000 burgers to the victims and volunteers. I ate McDonald's for 5 straight nights, two hamburgers a night (plus french fries). I can honestly say that I never felt worse; I got depressed, I felt sick, and worst of all, I felt an urge to eat more McDonald's. Never again. If you eat that crap regularly, you're killing yourself the wrong way.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+36How true. One other thing that has always amazed me is how neat and trim the fast food workers appear in the commercials vs how they look inside the restaurant. Also how cheerful and helpful they appear to be when in reality they are as anyone who works in such a demanding fast paced, high stress job and that is looking for the day to be over. Contrary to all the hype fast food restaurants aren't the most appealing places to work.
- ColonelJessup, on 11/14/2007, -23/+56Yuck. Why anyone would have sex with you sober is beyond me........
- bovox, on 11/14/2007, -1/+33So what. It's not like your girlfriend looks anything like her Facebook profile photo either. Get over it.
- NCSUspoon, on 11/14/2007, -3/+31This article appears on digg about once every three months or so. Interesting but old.
- mstoneburner, on 11/14/2007, -3/+30I beg to differ, good sir. The Whopper is a far superior sandwich. Pistols at dawn?
- doctechnical, on 11/14/2007, -1/+26The actors in the commercials are getting paid a lot more than the employees they're portraying.
- ColonelJessup, on 11/14/2007, -9/+32Those pics made me cry.......... I feel like I have been cheated.
Oh, and you food snobs should quit with the "I don't eat fast food so I am better than you" *****. - roadtripper, on 11/14/2007, -1/+22. . . and yet it all comes out looking the same in the end.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+21You only get to do that AFTER you climb the volcano.
- krets, on 11/14/2007, -2/+22I hope you know that "organically grown" means basically nothing. There are currently very few regulations governing when a company can slap an "organic" sticker on their product.
- sundancekid503, on 11/14/2007, -3/+22We'll start grilling our buns when you start putting ice in your sodas.
- slapded, on 11/14/2007, -1/+19I love eating animals.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -5/+22You could have eaten the local delicacy, Guinea Pig. How's that burger sound now?
- EarlOfLade, on 11/14/2007, -5/+22What I have never understood with US fast food joints, is why they never grill the buns. Then buns are just some squishy mushy crap that falls through your fingers when you try to eat the damn thing.
Where I come from, they have always grilled or toasted the buns to make them harder and minimize the risk for it falling apart and on your clothes. - yacks, on 11/14/2007, -0/+16Apparently, you never ate at a In n Out.. they do in fact grill their buns there.. :) not to mention make some awesomely tasty burgers..
- badjoke, on 11/14/2007, -5/+21Here, take this.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/I - balsaq, on 11/14/2007, -0/+16There's a hype?
- SteaminTmann, on 11/14/2007, -2/+17Amen, my roommate recently decided to go all organic.
12oz 'organic' pasta = $3.50
16oz 'normal' pasta = $0.89 - ucg1, on 11/14/2007, -3/+17Anyone who cares about their health doesn't eat fast food. If that makes them an "elitist snob", it really doesn't matter. Better to be in the elite than the stupid masses.
- drmangrum, on 11/14/2007, -1/+14What's really depressing is that this is only in America. If you eat at the same chains overseas you see a HUGE difference. When I was in Kuwait, the people that worked in burger king did their best to make the food look as good as possible. When they handed you the bag, it was neatly creased and not greased stained. If you actually took the time to look at the line workers, they took pride in their appearance. Their shirt was clean and tucked in. Their pants were clean and pressed.
A coworker of mine was stationed in Okinawa for a few years. He said the McDonalds there were like going to a real reputable restaurant. They had snazzy lighting and interior decoration. The menu was vastly expanded to not be grease-coated cow parts. Once again, the employees took pride in their work and their appearance.
I think the biggest problem is that we've disrespected those that work in the fast food industry to the point that only those that really don't deserve respect actually work there. They have no reason to take pride in their work because the customer just doesn't care. That's a shame. - helcat, on 11/14/2007, -22/+35Yuck!!! Why anyone would eat that sober is beyond me.
- jab26, on 11/14/2007, -1/+14i was at subway a few days ago and someone ordered their new philly cheesesteak. taking a look at the sandwich, she said "this doesn't look like the picture...how do we get it to look like the picture?" the guy making her sandwich just says "the picture is fake" while continuing to make her sandwich.
- insllvn, on 11/14/2007, -1/+13Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
- notque, on 11/14/2007, -11/+22Don't eat fast food. Am better off for it.
- BrewBeau, on 11/14/2007, -1/+11It doesn't take a food snob to realize that fast food is terrible. Not because it's "fast food" but because the industry has set it's standard of food quality so low. There are a lot of fast food places that use quality ingredients, but sadly, there aren't enough and they get put out of business by the megacompanies.
- krets, on 11/14/2007, -0/+10Yes.
- QuickeningYak, on 11/14/2007, -0/+10Agreed, because eating a steady diet of grease-encrusted ***** is the sign of a real man.
[Yes... sarcasm.] - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+10"Oh, and you food snobs should quit with the "I don't eat fast food so I am better than you" *****."
...then don't be stupid and eat fast food. WTF. - drmangrum, on 11/14/2007, -4/+13I have to ask. What's the right way to kill yourself?
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+105 Guys? Is that some kind of gay orgy.
- wiirdo, on 11/14/2007, -1/+10When you submit an article, Digg lists past articles that may be similar. Do submitters simply ignore and post it anyway?
- ucg1, on 11/13/2007, -0/+9There's something wrong here if people who call fast food "horrible" are being called "food snobs." The bar is being set really really low.
- Larakin, on 11/13/2007, -1/+9I have the same reaction here as when someone says Smoking will kill you, who doesn't already know this? and who thinks it will actually make a difference.
- pilot3033, on 11/14/2007, -1/+9yes...yes you can
- Zera, on 11/14/2007, -4/+12Dammit, now I'm going to have to go to BK for Lunch. These Digg articles about fast food sure sell alot of fast food.
I mean even the author was probably thinking, Hey, I can do some ***** article about fast food, and then I'd HAVE to eat it! You know, to drive my blogspam some traffic. - BrewBeau, on 11/14/2007, -0/+8Yeah, like someone sitting about on their couch, not sure what they want to do with their life, is ever going to see the inside of a fighter jet cockpit.
- NJank, on 11/14/2007, -0/+8correction: "I'll still be sipping on my icy cold, watered-down beverage"
- forcedfx, on 11/14/2007, -2/+10I can't believe it's not butter!
- badjoke, on 11/13/2007, -3/+11There's a reply function, guys.
- MerryMortician, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7i was in the Marines for 8 years. I WAS given a sword. and.. um.. if you squint hard enough.. they COULD pass as dragons!
- knde, on 11/14/2007, -3/+10The beverage is already cold! I hated that the ALWAYS put ice in all my drinks when I lived in America. They didn't even ask, they just assumed I wanted ice. I only use ice when a drink hasn't been refrigerated already, but I guess that's ust us "weirdos" over the pond :-)
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+8I'm glad it's all organic. Can you imagine an inorganic steak??....Yuck.
- ehalasey, on 11/13/2007, -3/+9Defensive much? Every single one of them is saying, ". . . and I'm better off for it," not, ". . . so I am better than you." But, you know, they all had you in mind when saying it just to piss you off, I'm sure . . .
- naturemade, on 11/14/2007, -2/+8Honest to God can't remember the last time I ate fast food and I am 23 years old. I work and go to school full time and I still manage to find the time to eat healthy. The difference in the way I feel since I gave up fast food years ago is indescribable.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6Never eat at an IHOP in a poor neighborhood. Ever.
