Wasn't this busted on mythbusters?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britney_Gallivan - bfaulk04, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7but... I already knew 90% of those without reading...?
- doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Obligatory Digg Dick-waving: Yeah, I knew all but 4 of those, and the ones I didn't know weren't particularly remarkable. And as Shad0wSP notes, one of them has been debunked.
"There is a city called Rome on every continent."
Could someone show me a Google Earth map for Rome, Antarctica? Is that where Santa's Evil Twin lives?
And it's been a long time since High School chemisty, but shouldn't water be closer to 80% oxygen by weight? What am I missing? Damn you, Periodic Table! - sideshowjohn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@bfaulk
is that really a fact? - nelswick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Nine pennies weigh exactly one ounce."
Not true. They changed up the composition in 1982 and now 1 penny = 2.5 grams X 9 = 22.5 grams while there are 28.35 grams in an ounce.
"Ninety eight per cent of the weight of water is made up from oxygen."
Also incorrect. A mole of water contains 2 grams of hydrogen and 16 grams of oxygen. 16 / 18 = 88.9 % - Renton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oxygen= 16.00g
Hydrogen= 1.01g
H2O= 18.02g
16.00/18.02 x 100= 88.79% - doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe that's the idea behind making a "naked egg", dissolving the shell in vineger.

» Months that begin on a Sunday will always have a “Friday the 13th.”
» Nine pennies weigh exactly one ounce.
» Ninety eight per cent of the weight of water is made up from oxygen.
» No animal, once frozen solid (i.e., water solidifies and turns to ice) survives when thawed, because the ice crystals formed inside cells would break open the cell membranes. However there are certain frogs that can survive the experience of being frozen. These frogs make special proteins, which prevent the formation of ice (or at least keep the crystals from becoming very large), so that they actually never freeze even though their body temperature is below zero Celsius. The water in them remains liquid: a phenomenon known as ’supercooling.’ If you disturb one of these frogs (just touching them even), the water in them quickly freezes solid and they die.

Does anyone know were patscru can go to ask such a question, like a technical, flash, or other forum instead of posting pointless crap on Digg? Whoops, answered my own question. - PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3does anyone know where noob can get some help on how to make something similar to her audio player in flash?
