- RenaChan, on 01/24/2009, -1/+22I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain. - D3koy, on 01/24/2009, -1/+8I used to live near Cape Fear...then I moved to California. It wasn't very hard
- SaintStryfe, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4Lack of bacon is the only thing truly to fear.
- NoEasyWayOut, on 01/25/2009, -0/+3Thank you Jim Cunningham!
- kosmoX, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3I-40 West.
- kosmoX, on 01/24/2009, -3/+6I've lived in Cape Fear for 20 years. It's at the end of I-40, opposite Barstow, CA. It really isn't that difficult to leave.
/kidding (I did RTFA) - canchin, on 01/25/2009, -0/+2The best ways to avoid fear are:
Don't watch or listen to or read the news, especially from conglomerates like the Contrived News Network and their sick ilk.
Don't pay attention to or get involved with any political cult.
Don't be involved with any religious cult since they exist purely to generate hate and fear.
Get up every morning with the idea that the world is perfect - just not finished - and that over the next million or so years everything will evolve to a higher level.
Thing are as they are because that is the low level of evolution that humanity has reached - we've got such a long way to go. There isn't anything to be afraid of because there is nothing wrong - it is the best it can be because that is the level we are at. All that can be wrong is your own personal viewpoint - adjust that, and avoid the negatives being tossed out, and you'll be fine. - magneteye, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1Cape Fear, one of my favorite De Niro roles.
"I ain't no white trash piece of *****. I'm better than you all! I can out-learn you. I can out-read you. I can out-think you. And I can out-philosophize you. And I'm gonna outlast you. You think a couple whacks to my guts is gonna get me down? It's gonna take a hell of a lot more than that, Counselor, to prove you're better than me! "
"Counselor, could you be there?" - inactive, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1Buried for all the ***** ads this website needs to ***** all over itself.
- laxmaniac3773, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1its very difficult to leave! with the myriad of traffic lights and some of the nations worst drivers you are lucky to get out alive
- ktm9rick, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1First thing that popped in my head when i read the title.
- iharbinger, on 01/24/2009, -1/+2dune ftw
- inactive, on 01/25/2009, -0/+1Fear is the obstacle and a motivation. A wise man knows how to to make obstacles into motivation and achieve success.
- Tollan, on 01/25/2009, -0/+0"If there was no fear every single person in this world would be hugely successful."
Clearly that is complete *****. - inactive, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1I figured most of that out by myself. Too bad, i could really use some more pointers for my speech...
- theyerb, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1Some good points, especially "You've got to get right up in fear's face and smell it's stinky breath." In other words, feel the fear and do it anyways. I had a terrible fear of public speech from high school until sophomore year of college. I finally joined Toastmasters, and after getting up in front of people a thousand times to speak, I'm starting to really enjoy it!
- Rhontos, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1First damn thing that came to my mind when I saw the title, and you beat me to it.
- Ttech2, on 01/25/2009, -1/+1Wouldn't this [digg] be the news though?
- Lactar, on 01/26/2009, -0/+0That was really bugging me, thanks!
- canchin, on 01/26/2009, -0/+0No. Digg is simply a collection of headlines that allows one to go through and choose what one wants to read.
Digg doesn't comment on, color, modify, edit for sensationalist effect, anything, and there are no vacuous talking heads trying to further their own career by going through Roget's Thesaurus on every word written to try and find a word that creates fear or panic or distress to use in place of another word that does not so easily lend itself to the much-needed-by-mainstream-media creation of fear, panic or distress. - SadMartigan, on 01/24/2009, -2/+2Abogaaado
- observemedia, on 01/24/2009, -4/+3There is alot of bad advice about fear in that article.. You should not immerse yourself in the fear of your past, but allow yourself to create a future where fear does not hamper you.
- aftern9ne, on 01/24/2009, -5/+4There's nothing to fear but fear itself, and fat chicks.
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -4/+2Basically
1.Know your fear
2.????
3.Profit!!!! - s4g4n, on 01/24/2009, -5/+2I'm out of bacon, ffffffffffffffffffffu
- ChrisDaneOwens, on 01/24/2009, -5/+0lol wut
