- EvilDr.X, on 02/05/2008, -1/+42I know my landlord certainly doesn't.
- Azriel7, on 02/05/2008, -0/+37Perhaps, but I would rather be rich and miserable than poor and miserable.
- XNihil0Zer0, on 02/05/2008, -1/+36If I had a bum ticker, I wouldnt play the lotto, he's lucky he didn't drop dead from the shock of winning.
- VibhuC812, on 02/05/2008, -16/+47You assume God even exists.
- chase001, on 02/05/2008, -31/+61God is cruel.
- harriman714, on 02/05/2008, -0/+30at least he won't have to worry about his wife's financial stability after he passes on
- INDOAZZ, on 02/05/2008, -0/+30The (Will) just got real popular.
- isewise, on 02/05/2008, -6/+34For whoever came up with the quote: "Money doesn't buy happiness.", I have this to say: "You must have been shopping at the wrong store."
You can quote me on that. - WPFever, on 02/05/2008, -1/+27No he isn't, he is dying...
- jphicks, on 02/05/2008, -13/+38One time I made a lot a money. I looked at the check and felt empty because I thought it would make me happy. It didn't. I'm not sure we all realize how much the real wealth in life is loving and being loved.
- LoadStar, on 02/05/2008, -3/+22Or, if you're less cynical, you could see this as a blessing from God. He now has money to be able to afford medical bills to try and get a heart transplant (or repair the defect, if possible.) And if a transplant or repair aren't possible, then he is blessed to be able to provide for his wife after he dies... or to generously donate to charity, to make a lasting legacy upon this earth.
- skippy562, on 02/05/2008, -3/+22ITS LIKE RAAAAAINN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
ITS A FREEEE... - Lixie, on 02/05/2008, -2/+20Let's see. 38 million minus 45% prize tax leaves 20.9 million. Then when he gives to his heirs it's will minus inheritance tax which is 40%. That leaves a grand total of 12.54 million dollars left after all the taxes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
- WeirdEdsel, on 02/05/2008, -1/+17I would kill myself if this happened to me.
- jdc760, on 02/05/2008, -1/+17When you put a dollar sign in front of a number you don't have to write "dollars" after the number.
- down4twenty, on 02/05/2008, -0/+14"Treatment for an aneurysm depends on its size, location and your overall health."
meaning, if its where doctors cant get to, or if its too large, or the person cannot survive a procedure, then its not treatable. - solistus, on 02/05/2008, -0/+13Money doesn't buy happiness, but it sure does buy food and shelter. If you think money is irrelevant to happiness, you probably already have enough of it.
- Llanowar, on 02/05/2008, -0/+13He is leaving his wife comfortable at least. She won't have any financial issues with the funeral, and she can search a nice place to live and be in peace.
- jeffiek, on 02/05/2008, -2/+14They didn't give much detail in the article, but a few seconds on google indicates this is treatable:

Anyone got more? - Soave, on 02/05/2008, -5/+171) State disbelief in God.
2) Get dugg. - fkr3, on 02/05/2008, -0/+12He's still dying.
- GeneralFailure0, on 02/05/2008, -0/+11It's very sad that he's dying, but I should think he ought to view this as an opportunity. As his life possibly nears it's conclusion, he is suddenly given this money which will allow him to assure that his wife will be taken care of after he is gone and still have some left over to do some good with.
- gooberguy, on 02/05/2008, -1/+12not really, bill gates spends a ***** of money helping people out, and look at the world, you probably couldn't tell the differance

- doubleoh7, on 02/05/2008, -2/+10Quotes like "He further said there aren't any shops in the cemetery are there" make me wonder why he was playing the lottery at all while on his death bed. Was he playing -not- to win?
- tidu, on 02/05/2008, -2/+9Wrestlemania DID rule.
- undersky, on 02/05/2008, -0/+7wrong on the inheritance tax. when you have that kind of money, tons of wealth management companies will come to you (e.g. UBS) and help you to set up layers of trust fund, offshore accounts, even citizenships in some small Caribbean country.
- smithil, on 02/05/2008, -0/+6I know that i was really worried for Ida.
- scribblet, on 02/05/2008, -2/+8As sad as this is, it's still not irony.

- TubzyX, on 02/05/2008, -0/+6because he has 38 million dollers now?
- saintdesy, on 02/05/2008, -0/+6It's not the money that would give you happiness. It is all the stuff you buy with the money!
- a1532b, on 02/05/2008, -2/+7He didn't say anything even close to that...
- DarkPrince11, on 02/05/2008, -6/+11Everyone is dying.
