- sagat, on 10/11/2007, -17/+766Simple, Wet leaves on ground/tracks, beware of skidding into the tram in front when braking. It's a warning for Tram Drivers.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -13/+482Please yield if you see this leaf falling, its powerful enough to slice apart two trains.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -13/+358Trains kiss under the mistletoe?
- DiggDawgg, on 10/11/2007, -7/+325Step one: Spread trams apart.
Step two: Insert leaf with caution. - RuffRidr, on 10/11/2007, -8/+253Warning, trains may "leave" in either direction.
- daveddd, on 10/11/2007, -8/+252No Canadians allowed in train wrecks?
- Makubex, on 10/11/2007, -16/+255Remember, trams must always maintain a manditory distance, equal to the size of one leaf, from eachother at all times.
- crankycookie, on 10/11/2007, -10/+229If you see a double headed arrow between two trains, you have been smoking too many leaves.
- Eivo, on 10/11/2007, -23/+233Don't FALL between the trams!
HA HA, get it? - OpticalLiam, on 10/11/2007, -9/+198Warning: Giant leaves will not stop colliding trams
- Netmindstorm, on 10/11/2007, -6/+158Warning: People that wear fig leaves go both ways
- Cronofiend, on 10/11/2007, -12/+121Caution: Leaf power up can cause a mirrored alter dimension if given to trains: Stay off the trains raccoon Mario.
- TalkingBanana, on 10/11/2007, -1/+106Warning: Drunk Sign Designers
- sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -8/+111Beware of falling leaves because they'll distract you enough to walk between 2 trains which are heading towards each other and you'll be smooshed.
- ivanisavich, on 10/11/2007, -32/+115Make sure you get to the trainstation on time, or else the train will LEAF without you!
ZING!!! - decepticrat, on 10/11/2007, -11/+88'Make like a tree and get outta here.'
/obsure? - swiftekho, on 10/11/2007, -8/+83Caution, this leaf has the power to clone trams.
- Wilson, on 10/11/2007, -3/+70As a Canadian, I approve of this law.
- WaterDragon, on 10/11/2007, -4/+66If trams are about to crash, leave them immediately!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+62warning! all leaves should avoid being run over by trams
its clearly a warning intended for the leaves to keep them safe from trams
they obviously are very friendly to the environment - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -24/+78Please be sure to leave the trams before they disconnect for the day.
- Johann4u, on 10/11/2007, -7/+58By the time I figured this out I've smashed into the tram in front of me and derailed.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+51"Transfer here for Garden of Eden."
- DatoeDakari, on 10/11/2007, -4/+47I think this comment ripped from the site may be right.
"This sign is aimed at the tram or train drivers.. It is instructing drivers to keep their distance from the tram / train ahead as the area is prone to falling leaves which make the track (or can) extremely slippery." - loqqq, on 10/11/2007, -1/+40Triangle-shaped UFOs with leaf decals should land equadistantly between two train cars.
- st0nes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+36There is one tram per year and it comes in the fall.
- vimmyXnothing, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30If Train A departs at 12:15 traveling at 55 mph and Train B departs at 2:30 traveling at 80 mph, it doesn't matter when they will collide because a giant leaf will crush them both before they get the chance.
- Odweaver, on 10/11/2007, -3/+31Warning: French Canadians on trams.
- ivanisavich, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26Dugg for use of the word "smooshed".
- Otto, on 10/11/2007, -47/+70Yes, it's warning tram drivers of potentially leafy areas of track, which may cause them to slide more on the track and slam into other trams. Seems pretty obvious to me.
- Makubex, on 10/11/2007, -6/+29I, for one, welcome our leaf decal toting overlords.
- HBNDonut, on 10/11/2007, -9/+32Damnit! Wrong reply... I've done that twice today.
Digg me down plz! - modsuperstar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+23Oddly I watched a show about street cars yesterday and this very subject was mentioned. In the fall the leaves make the tracks much more slippery, so the sign is saying to leave more space between trains because of leaves on the track.
- blackjack75, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21He's doing it with a belgian accent.
- MiamiGuy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22If two trains are about to collide, stick a leaf to the front of each train. This will cause both trains to have same polarity and thus repel each other.
- Boshow, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24Beware of tree branches while the tram is in motion.
- JueYan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_rail
Slippery rail is an adverse condition of railroads caused by fallen moist leaves that lie on and cling to the top surface of the rails of railroad tracks. The condition can cause severe premature wear on railroad equipment, delay railroad traffic and force trains to travel at reduced speeds. The condition usually occurs in Autumn months in heavily forested areas like the American Mid-Atlantic states, New England and much of the United Kingdom.[1][2]
Mechanically, train wheels can slip when they come in contact with wet and oily leaves, a phenomenon known as "wheel slip." This causes the train's sensors to signal that excessive speed is occurring, which in turn instigates the track brakes to perform an emergency stop. The excessive stopping creates flat spots on the wheels, meaning they and the rail cars they support need to be serviced. The stopping of the trains also causes delays which create a "domino effect" of delays on other trains on the line. The reduced number of passenger cars frequently means overcrowding on trains.[3]
Freight trains tend to be less susceptible to the effects of slippery rail. They are usually heavier and have more effective brake systems than passenger commuter trains.[1] - spokenrope, on 10/11/2007, -10/+28"Should that not be
"Make like a tree, and leaf" ??"
Go watch Back to the Future. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+22only megaman's leaf shield can defeat the evil tram twins? :
- roomforpanic, on 10/11/2007, -6/+22In an awkward leaf triangle, most trams will swing both ways.
- Makubex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14@winmywii
Dug up, because noone else will. - hoofarted, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15It means, "When there are leaves on the track, increase your distance between trams."
- WillyVolk, on 10/11/2007, -11/+23Trams in love create beautiful leaves?
- EvolvedAnt, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15WARNING: Do not stare at leaves on the ground, you may be standing in the middle of a collision course between 2 trains.
- decepticrat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9@ drekor
While that may possibly be said in Boondock Saints, I was quoting Back to the Future, which came out MANY years before BS, and which I quoted fairly accurately. Obviously, from some of your replies to me I was correct in assuming its obscurity.
You may pick up your consolation prize of 1 schrute buck on your way out. - TjLAXattack, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9The shortest distance between two trains is a vegetable.
- Chronomaster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9CAUTION: Trams may transfer to Parallel-Universe Canada.
- Nin10dude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9CAUTION: Sign may cause mass speculation.
- HarryManback, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10WARNING: The leaves around here are as big as trains, which makes Fall really suck.
- mpn401, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9That's about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.
