- Alkal1ne, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53So is diggnation a trademark yet?
- addisonj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52so... you have no bed, no desk, no monitor, and live in a sterile white, tile floor clean room scattered with full tower cases?.................... without women?
And i though my bedroom sucked... - ngageguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45@gatorsrule21
Funny, I looked at the larger scan and it is there plain as day. I didn't know they came on blue shirts though. - ngageguy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+42Just looked at Jinx, and they are only listed in black and different sizes. Was this "-shopped"?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34At least he has padded wallpaper.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30Profesional photographers "notice" when everyone's told to wear baby blue and someone standing in the middle of the picture wears black ...
- LastDays, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25yeah, cant say i've seen the baby blue shirt yet. those crazy IBM guys..always makin' shirts.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28So, torbar, how was the article about Google?
- falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Who cares thats free advertising! :D
- CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I also wonder if the placement of the two centrally 'located characters' were "cast" to subliminally appear to look like Alex and Kevin. After all, you get the Spike Haired Blond guy with glasses on the left and a Dark Haired guy on the right. Both are carrying mugs which represent Beers. Just a thought...

Have you heard of the 'internet'? - themulf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Do not do too many, we will need some one to man the confetti cannons!
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21@ngageguy
most likely photoshopped, because if it was black, it would be completely distracting, when they shot the ad, they probably just said for everyone to wear pajamas and the like, and didn't notice that he was the only one wearing a black shirt, and lightened it up. - Duncan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I want a blue diggnation shirt.. it looks way more stealth geek than a black tee
- DAaaMan64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11T-Shirt "spotted", my ass that sucker is center piece, know one who knew what it meant would miss that. :)
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13How do you guys know that Diggnation didn't specifically buy the ad spot? They were talking about doing advertising last week..
- TheSolomon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I just grabbed a copy of Information Week. It really says diggnation. Page 37. Also, the guy in the middle has a chocolate frosted doughnut with sprinkles. Yum. :-)
(Consequently, digg's spell checker only has "donut" in its word list, even though 'donut' is actually a variation on 'doughnut.' Hmmm.) - richpav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Maybe their servers would work better if they like, plugged them in and stuff.
It was good of them to represent gender, age and racial diversity in the ad, but they overlooked the physically challenged. Probably because it would have ended up looking too much like a hospital. - wirah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Simple answer.
digg related articles are interesting. - straylightrise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9when he joined digg(tm), he thinks he is an integral part of digg(tm)
- pgm_01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Somebody has very nicely put it up on Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jefffarrar/222576262/
I think it is fake. The printing on the shirt should have more noise like the rest of the image. - subzeroash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Who has an InformationWeek?
Can someone verify that the guy who owns the site didn't just photoshop it himself to get on digg?
Seems odd that IBM would make their own custom diggnation shirt... - herro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7no?
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Since when is it your trademark?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7diggywiggit,
Did you look at the mag?
If you did you would know that in fact, this is real. The user "TheSolomon" Has confirmed this, and Anyone else who has this issue of InformationWeek can confirm it... - kwilliam71, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5So I eat my words... it's not photoshopped. See full digital version of the publication here - page 37.
http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/cmp/infoweek082806/index.php - CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hmmmm....In day 23, they mention an 'army of zombies'....isn't that what Die-Hard Digg Fans are?....I know that I sometimes feel that way
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I need to get a diggnation shirt.
- PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wow...fascinating! I'm literally doing backflips over this!
- knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8since any information from external links are stored on digg servers...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Not been out lately Cliff? Those are generic haircuts these days. 10 years from now they'll be the mullet of the 2000's.
- blaket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Oh yea, let's pour coffee over the servers. That's a good idea!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5*no
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's cute. Have 1/450,000 of $60,000,000 vaporcash.
- Esprit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My coworker gets InformationWeek, so I stopped by his office, flipped to page 37 and there it was. The 'a' in nation sort of looks like an 'o' but the t-shirt is relatively small compared to the page size.
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thats pretty rad. It matches the digg blue. I would buy one if offered.
- AustinGoodchild, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I know why they have done this. Purposely giving this model the digination tee they knew they would get on digg and get dugg. As effect of this it would bring lots of intrest and views to the ad, and best of all, ITS FREE! So, my theory is that IBM did they on purpose to bring lots of intrest and views to the ad.
- dmclone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's real. I just got the magazine. The shirt is baby blue and he's holding a red cup.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Found the original ad. It's on http://torbar.net/?p=11 . It is also in the issue of InformationWeek
- sjalloul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Someb body must be running a shop in India or China making these replica DIGGNATION *****, that all I can think off!
- 4myjoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think they are trying to be clever and connect the workload and comments about getting version 3 up and running with the need for their product. But they did think enough to change the (Kevin look-a-like's) t-shirt in color and title (diggnotion) so that they could clear legal.
- DAaaMan64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn, thanks....
- tuxuser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2allw hite reminds of the mac
- macman06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What if it is them.. and they didnt tell us?
Conspiracy... - mrshiny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The whole ad is available online:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/i/iwantani/pdf/system_i_advertising_pajama.pdf - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg has every right to protect their trademark. People who register domains or whatever featuring a trademark should spend the 5 minutes learning about them to protect themselves primarily from their ignorance, but also from the takedown.
- pgm_01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I also take it back. Go IBM!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why sue? that's free advertising
- FeRReT41too, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Couldn't see the pic to many viewers. But hey proliferation is the goal, no?
