- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+78More likely he'll say "stay the course"
- Ruckgesicht, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23To be able to hear him talk openly and entirely frankly is a very interesting perspective I'm sure we've only begun to uncover. Very interesting.
- bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -10/+28...or "we need to invade France and Poland! They possess weapons of mass destruction!"
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I wonder if they'll catch him saying something like, "Gee, it sure was stupid to invade Russia, and I'm such an idiot for bungling the Stalingrad campaign."
- DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18Those who support safe sex support Nazism.
- Inbal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Home movies can be valuable too. Like in understanding when it is and isn't appropriate to use the word "monster".
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12So.. you're all basically saying that safe sex practices would have resulted in an even more powerful Hitler.
.... - Heembo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I know what he is saying.... er, singing really...
"All I want is peace...A little piece of Poland/A little piece of France/A little piece of Hungary/And Austria, perchance?" - CircusNinja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8no, we're saying had Hitler's parent's practiced safe sex, the world could have been spared a whole lot of suffering. No there's a durex ad for you!

Let me clarify that last note about hitler farking up sp badly for those not up on the history of WWII....
Hitler was urged by most of his staff to take a course of action different than what he actually did take. There is much speculation that if he had listened to those that reported to him - the outcome of WWII would have been much different (more gravely so)
At a minimum it would have cost many many more lives and would have been likely to draw out the war a few more years.
Since Hitler's conditioned made his thinking and personality immovable - it worked out to the benefit of all as he lost faster than what would have been expected of a person/country/empire with their skill or resources. (military mental resources; e.g. strategery :) ) - Russell102, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5and it never gets old
- charz0r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Some of us actually DO care what this monster was thinking about. This way we can better understand his actions and thus learn how to avoid creating another monster.
- Beaver6813, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Have they tried using this new technology on that yet? And i guess it has to all be matched up to the right language.
- MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I can't wait to see some videos of this on the history channel.
- tableau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do you also "do the math" with the world's Jewish populatiuon?
- smurfmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And, as a bonus, farm3r, there would be no Jews, no mentally defective, no birth defective, and eventually, no blacks, no Slavs, no homeless, no communists, no catholics and the world wouldn't be overpopulated. Whoopee!!!
- raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hitler was a monster no doubt. But why is it that so many of us maintain a sneaking respect for him?
In my view in a history of what if's I often wonder what would have happened if someone could have persuaded Hitler of the folly of his campaign against Russia - and of the insanity of his hatred of the Jews. If he could have known that a Russian campaign was doomed to failure and that it would eventually result in the destruction of Germany, what would he have done?
If he could have stuck to his original stated intentions of simply reuniting the German speaking people's of Europe, would we I wonder still have a dominant European super power today?
It's odd too that Hitler's ultimate objective was to unite Europe - and now we have the EU - who's objective too is ultimately to unite Europe. Perhaps if he could have been show that there was a different way to do it, he might have behaved differently?
Anyway, I'm sure people will hate me for thinking these hings -and I do know that really Hitler was a sociopath and a psychopath - but somewhere there there was an element of genius as well - and occasionally I still can't help wondering. - charz0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope these videos will be made available for the public. I would really like to see them.
- dimension128, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7And/or he will say,
“An evil exists that threatens every man, woman and child of this great nation. We must take steps to insure our domestic security and protect our homeland." - AiNoMuchi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It never ceases to amaze me how a story about Hitler inevitably provokes people to bring up Bush in the same breath as if to say Hitler = Bush = Hitler and that wow, killing millions of Jews and essentially wiping a race off the face of the earth is the same as trying to protect both sunni's and shiites (from each other) and from those who are bent on creating chaos just to smite America's efforts....yes...Bush's efforts to provide a path in life open and more flexiable than if it was under Saddam or strict, fanatical Islam.
Give me a break. - andylau, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5hmm so they can read people's lips from any angle from a very old film, but they can't read Mohammed Attas and zarah's lips from the apparent "last testimony" video which was very clear and filmed face on?
- RamanujanRedux, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Isn't that the usual thing on the History Channel?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hoo boy, watch people go nuts when they realize that this technology can be used in surveillance. The delusional paranoids will be climbing the walls.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3From TFA: "Every German family must have one. Every aspect of the nation's growth would be captured," [Hitler] says.
If everyone had a camcorder, camera phone, etc. like they do now, imagine the disturbing footage that we'd see from WW2. I mean, people are all up in arms about the videos of riot police and the like in the US (for good reason sometimes), imagine what would have been recorded under a real facsist regime... scary. - Ruckgesicht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ madchemst:
Study up on the Milgram experiment, you'll be surprised how far someone is willing to go if they're ordered to do so. Combine this with the Stanford Prison experiment and there is your reason for thinking society played a huge role in creating who Hitler became and the extent to which people were willing to obey his directives. - mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"...or "we need to invade France and Poland! They possess weapons of mass destruction!""
Buts lets stay the ***** away from Switzerland cause they *really* have WMD's (read: Iran/N Korea) - fsnuffer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The chances of your logic trail happening are slight at best. Someone would have had to bail out the European pacifist liberals at some point. All I know is if I did the math, I would not have lost three uncles in combat and my Aunt would still have vision in her left eye because of the V2 rocket that hit her hospital while nursing wounded British soldiers. I don't have the total numbers but the ones you gave do not even approach 6 million in 6 years.
- Darthmalt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5While we didn't exactly "create Hitler the allies and at the end of WW1 by making Germany pay reparations and leaving them in poverty (common practice at the time) Created a Germany desperate for someone to lead them into a more prosperous era which helped Hitler rise to power. Then once he was in power and began making aggressive moves like claiming the need for lebensraum the league of nations (precursor to the UN that the US refused to join) Followed a policy of appeasement which only encouraged Hitler.
So while we didn't create Hitler we can certainly look at the circumstances surrounding his rise to power and spot several mistakes we can avoid in the future.
P.S. Does anyone else find it funny that the Digg spellcheck has Hitler in its dictionary - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So you have never heard of lip reading?
- zumlah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very interesting....i would like to see these "translated movies/ clips".
- clyde2801, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do we get to see Hitler on Ice????
- actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8I can't wait to to see something about Hitler on the History Channel.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would be very interested to see this. I hope that someone will be able to link a video of it after it is aired.
- phlux, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7@nixon
Funny that you say that (and in reference to the replies below about the History Channel as well)
Did you see the thing about Hitler having an STD (syphilus?) which was in the later stages at the onset of the American entry into WWII - thus resulting in his lack of flexability in thought and action...
The point is that if Hitler had a deep rooted sexually transmitted disease as his excuse for farking up so badly - I can only imagine that all the claims of Bush's alcoholism playing into his lunacy are nearer the reality than most suspect... - pirashkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If Hitler's first name was Adolf, should his successor be called Rudolf?
- schroduggity, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I call it the Nazi channel.
for instance. I was watching a show on the history of car's, even that show had to show some clips of Nazi's goose stepping around when they were talking about vw and the beetle.
my theory is they have ton's of footage from wwII like the article stated, home movies were chiche back then in germany. - Twango, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just because someone claims that this software exists doesn't make it more than a delusion.
They can't even accurately translate text from easy languages. How can they extract accurate text from meat flapping in grainy old B&W film?
Don't buy it, don't believe it. - RamanujanRedux, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7I can't wait until the political parties exploit how Hitler's tastes are similar to their opposition.
- swoopdog, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7@jarland
shut up - madchemst, on 10/12/2007, -10/+9Typical Liberal response. How exactly did "society" create Hitler? He was born, he had frighteningly powerful charisma and he hated Jews and many others. There are many theories as to why but it's not society's responsibility to "prevent the creation" of such people. I'm disgusted that in suggesting he was "created" by society, you somehow remove some of his responsibility for his actions.
- gnomon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Say what you will about Hitler, but at least he didn't lie under oath like Clinton. Am I right?
- Platina, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1maybe he is still alive, hehe.
Hope not, tough. - VolatileWhimsy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Well I don't want to listen to it or anything, he freaks me out...
- tableau, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"...or "we need to invade France and Poland! They possess weapons of mass destruction!""
Hehe, that's hilarious. Please keep the humor coming. You might want to read a few history books to get a sense of perspective though. - CircusNinja, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Yes, I think this would be rather interesting to see, but also rather chilling. As the article says: hearing them discuss the "Final solution" so candidly is frightning
- farm3r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I am interested, has anybody done the maths? Lets assume that the Germans had won they had total control and there was no more war since 1940. All the worst things that happened to the populations of the involved countries hasnt happened yet. And then Vietnam never happened (500.000?), Iraq (300.000?) about 70 dictatorships in th 60s didnt happen, the palestinians did not suffer genocide and we eat sour kraut rather than McDonalds that doesnt make you that fat... I know he was bad but maybe we should do the calculation... At the end both regiemes brought 1984, just the American did it 60 years later....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5...yes, we could uncover a lot of things, such as whether or not he liked the movie last night... they're home movies, no his "other activities." When someone comes home from work/war do you think they're gonna tell about it? Also, "meetings" were not recorded, for obivous reasons...
- madchemst, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3***** Hitler. Like I give a ***** what he was conflicted about. In my wettest dream, he died an excruciatingly painful death.
