You're paying for companionship. Anything additional that goes on is between two consenting adults.
If I say, "Hey, I'll give you $20 if you come with me to see this ***** Watchmen movie," then during the movie you become bored and wanna put your hand in my pants, nothing at all wrong with that. - Drakoi, on 03/06/2009, -10/+95legalize it, tax it.
- Scrappy1850, on 03/06/2009, -1/+73getting rid of the red light district makes the other sections glow pink
- Falldog, on 03/06/2009, -2/+61Cook County was previously made famous for destroying all the county's street corners in an attempt to stop prostitution.
- rolf, on 03/06/2009, -1/+57The judge accepted and got a free movie out of it.
- V1ncent, on 03/06/2009, -11/+52Yeah! About time. I ordered a hot smoking Asian chick and they sent me Rosie O'Donnell!
- rolf, on 03/06/2009, -3/+41Beastiality is just plain wrong.
- MacEnvy, on 03/06/2009, -1/+39No it's not. Not by a long shot.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -2/+39Girlfriend, cheaper? What planet are you from?
- FuzzplugJones, on 03/06/2009, -1/+36Dugg for being the kind of person who would be bored at the Watchmen movie.
- holyskeleton, on 03/06/2009, -1/+33"Dart is asking a federal judge to order Craigslist to eliminate its "Erotic Services" section, where most prostitution ads are posted. He also is seeking reimbursement for tax dollars spent paying the salaries of officers who investigate and arrest those responsible for trafficking women on the Web site."
people will do anything for money these days. - WraTH017, on 03/06/2009, -1/+33People who spoiled their own lives adhering to ridiculous rules and are so bitter about it they decide to ruin it for the rest of us.
I'd personally never see a prostitute, but I don't see how seeing one is so different that going to a masseuse. Think about it... Both give you pleasure by rubbing parts of your body, for money. Think of sex without the religious ***** attached to it and suddenly, it turns out it's natural. It's not a "sacred thing"... If it was, we'd be the only species having it. Go to the zoo, watch a monkey jerk off and then come back and tell me how sacred and spiritual that was.
And now some wise words from a man much smarter than myself:
"Selling is legal. ***** is legal. Why isn't selling ***** legal?" - George Carlin - JamesWjRose, on 03/06/2009, -1/+32Making what a person does to their own mind/body a legal issue has never, nor will ever work. Morality cannot be a legal issue. It is both sad and stupid that goverment attempts to get involved with such issues. Considering the state of economy I think it would be best to legalize it.
I find it strange the often comment of prostitution is degrading to women, when in fact men are paying a large sum of money for a very simple action. Isn't it true that it is more degrading to the men?
I agree VERY much that women should not be forced to be prostitutes, however shouldn't the statement be; "no one should be forced to do anything" ? I can imagine that few girl desire to be a prostitute when they grow up... but how many men desire to be a sanitation worker? (or insert a job that you would not want to do) We all do things we would rather not do to insure we have food/shelter. However getting "moral" about specific activities is laughable. Prostitution has always existed (hence the reason it's called the World's Oldest Profession) so making it illegal will not solve the issue. To solve this issue we need a better eduction system.... that is, if there really can be a solution. - inactive, on 03/06/2009, -4/+35Anti-prostitution laws = big government nonsense. Tell me who the "victim" is in this "crime"?
- chronopublish, on 03/06/2009, -1/+30Dugg for teaching me that the plural of attorney general is attorneys general.
- Murdats, on 03/06/2009, -1/+27puritans who can't stand people enjoying themselves privately being unpunished.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -4/+27They should investigate this ahole and see what prostitutes he has in his closet.
- Nickolassc, on 03/06/2009, -2/+24Nevada has legalized prostitution. It seems to work for them ok.
More states should be like Nevada. - Scrappy1850, on 03/06/2009, -1/+20$20 for a 2 hour movie? more like $200 an hour.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -1/+19Now I feel so much safer knowing that some hooker from craigs list is not going to show up at my door and screw the hell out of me.
- tavallai, on 03/06/2009, -1/+19In other news, Craigslist's servers are suddenly seeing unprecedented traffic.
- UtahApocalyse, on 03/06/2009, -1/+18If it was legal you would have an entire different class of girls doing the job. People would not settle for nancy the methhead, acne faced, twitchy whore. When the free market can offer up prostitutes the market will only pick the cream of the crop to make them cream!
- sgvbomberman, on 03/06/2009, -1/+16there goes the end of whats left of my sex life.
- Rain12913, on 03/06/2009, -3/+17You make your girlfriend's friend's boyfriend pay for your girlfriend? That's classy...
- Murdats, on 03/06/2009, -1/+14no, and he will hunt you down and beat you if you do.
- Pxtl, on 03/06/2009, -1/+14I'll bet the whole reason the "Erotic Services" section was created was because they were sick of having all the prostitutes flooding the regular women-looking-for-men sections. This way, they can clearly separate the hookers away from the hookers-who-don't-tell-the-john-they're-hookers-until-he-shows-up.
- DOCNM, on 03/06/2009, -1/+14I was also dumbstruck by that passage. Because of craigslist, police officers now have to actually go after those abuse cases! Bad, bad, bad craiglist, making police officers work.
- torressr3, on 03/06/2009, -1/+14original is knowing how to hide your sources
and guess what i just stole this quote - mabba18, on 03/06/2009, -0/+12If prostitution was legal and regulated, it would remove a good portion of the dangers (violence, drug abuse, human trafficking, etc) and women forced into it would be able to turn to police when in trouble. It would attract a better class of person so that those in it for the wrong reasons would not be able to make any money.
- feelmypimphand, on 03/06/2009, -1/+13$20 dolla make you holla
- davdev, on 03/06/2009, -0/+11Little known fact; it is also legal in Rhode Island provided it all takes place indoors. So Street Walking and ***** in cars is illegal, but calling a girl to your hotel room, or going to a "massage palour" is completely legal.
- anubis2night, on 03/06/2009, -1/+12It's nice to know that our tax dollars are helping the Police crack down on real crime, oh wait their not, most times you can't get a cop to do more than fill out a report if there's a theft, vandalism or threat of violence but you get some erotic ad's, a person speeding or a Starbucks and the cops will be right there.
- latrosicarius, on 03/06/2009, -1/+11basically, if the erotic services section is deleted, they will just post elsewhere.
- shagmin, on 03/06/2009, -0/+10>"Selling is legal. ***** is legal. Why isn't selling ***** legal?" - George Carlin
Just to add to the paradox. Selling ***** in front of a camera is legal. - davdev, on 03/06/2009, -2/+12Uhm 80% of this planet works at sad job they would rather not be doing. How is this any different than Trash Collector or half the crap you see on Dirty Jobs? At least prostitution can pay well, provided you are not a crack head with a scumbag pimp.
I have no problem with pimping being illegal, but if two people want to buy and sell sex, who really cares?
Note: The 80% number was just a figure I pulled out of my ass to demonstrate a point, don't go asking for sources - Andrwmorph, on 03/06/2009, -0/+10Which would be reduced if the industry wasn't illegal.
- jshaft, on 03/06/2009, -4/+13No it isn't.
- Scrappy1850, on 03/06/2009, -1/+10go ahead... i stole it from someone else. i dont even remember who.
- xxMarka, on 03/06/2009, -0/+9legalize it, don't tax it
- TheAbsintheHare, on 03/06/2009, -0/+9It helps the women that happen to be in a situation where they choose such a profession. Make it legal and you decrease the chance they get abused or exploited. Don't be such an ass just because someone's victimless choices don't fit into your moral ideals.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj187/Nickolass ... - t0x2c, on 03/06/2009, -0/+8To be honest, the commercials made it look action packed. I haven't seen it yet, but the comics are a mystery, not an action flick.
- Andrew0568, on 03/06/2009, -1/+9it's the "seeking lactating woman" ones that have caused me never to go on Craigslist again
- Killerfilm, on 03/06/2009, -2/+9$1200?!??!
Everyone knows suckysucky = $5 - Scrappy1850, on 03/06/2009, -1/+8cant stand the heat...
- JiveRabbit, on 03/06/2009, -0/+7Care if i use that quote later?
- Gguillorn, on 03/06/2009, -0/+7That's a pretty kickass sandwich, I'm jealous.
- perfectsilence, on 03/06/2009, -0/+7I meant it does not benefit women if sex is easily and cheaply available to men.
- InfiniteNothing, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6Think of it as voluntary welfare
- Andrwmorph, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6Like with narcotics, most of the problems associated with prostitution are due to the illegality of it.
