- gregsmamma, on 10/10/2007, -7/+33oh crazy christians! what will they think of next?
- inblue, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27reminds me of when bart goes over to rod and todd flanders house and plays Billy Graham's Blasters:
Rod: "Keep firing! Convert the heathens!"
Bart: "Got him!"
Rod: "No, you just winged him and made him a Unitarian."
Todd: "Look out, Bart. A gentle Baha'i!"
Bart: "All right! Full conversion!" - mjesq, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26now that's quality parenting
- toxicityj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22the power of Christ compels you, bitch
- 89vision, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24How very Christian of him.
- gamche, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20Uhh two things One aren't we not supposed to enforce our beliefs on others and Two did anyone notice how at the end of the article it mentioned how he was against militant Islam I'm guessing from what he did he's down with militant Christian.
- sideshowjohn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16nothing says jesus loves you like a welt from a paintball gun
- juicebag, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18Doesn't Christmas have Pagan origins too?
- sigginike90, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14"I was just trying to prevent the kids from becoming evil from taking part in Halloween, SO i just equipped my family with paint ball guns to SHOOT the kids! That's not evil at all"
- Axfire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10What kind of paintball gun would Jesus use?
- sideshowjohn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Baptism 2.0?
- dyslexicsUNTIED, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10why is this news...now?
- kunradish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Dude where i live last Halloween some guy got hit in the head with a frozen turkey pretty much half the town turned into a warzone
- kronix2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The 25th of December was the date of a pagan festival, yes. It was usurped by the early Christians, the successors of which are ignorant of its origins.
Easter also has roots in paganism, IIRC. - AnteChronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6But how can you kill . . . that which has no life?
- kronix2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6To me, being "Christian" means following Jesus' teachings and emulating his actions. If we're using that definition, fundamentalist Christians aren't very "Christian".
By the way, if somebody has a problem with Halloween because it's supposedly a pagan celebration of the occult, somebody should tell them that Christmas and Easter were originally pagan festivals. - kronix2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Museums which inform citizens that dinosaurs and cavemen coexisted 10,000 years ago?
Oh wait... - AnteChronos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Actually, that'd be pretty big news, since there's no history of atheists having a problem with Halloween, while there are *lots* of previous instances of Christians having issues with Halloween.
- AttacheCrime, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5At least I know what I'm doing for Xmas.
- Toshibi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Probably because an atheist wouldn't go on a Halloween Paintball spree....
- SoundJudgment, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5So we actually celebrate Halloween on August 31st?? All these years I had it all wrong.
- jsmith39, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yet if I 'tag' his church because I disagree with his beliefs I'm guilty of a hate crime.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It's a shame this guy figured out how to procreate.
- chicoer2001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Paintball pastor’s wife speaks out (iafrica African News)
Boys need to play with toy weapons to learn how to be aggressive and adventurous, according to Lenora Hammond, wife of paintball-evangelist Peter Hammond. - VitriolAndAngst, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Oh, he was shooting people for Jesus. That makes it OK then.
I'm sure that as soon as the officer realized that a little paint pain here, would prevent an eternity of burning in Hell, he understood completely. "Some describe it as "an evil day of Satan", and say participation sends a message to children that witchcraft, demonism, Satanism, and the occult are fun, entertaining and harmless." Yes, and some people thought voting for George Bush would be harmless too. The same people who think we can bomb evil out of existence. - VitriolAndAngst, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yes, that would make it just a random act of stupidity.
You have to look at WHY people are motivated to do stupid things.
Of course, Darwin awards make it here with regularity too. But Hypocrites are always welcome. - kronix2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3'Hammond is known for his opposition to homosexuality, pornography, communism, militant Islam, and to what he says is "humanism" in state schools.'
Imagine how screwed up his kids must be.
He says he's against militant Islam. Militant Islamists are also against homosexuality, pornography, Communism, and "humanism" (or secularism) in schools. He has a great deal in common with his enemy. - mightyslick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4This upsets me being a fan of paintball. All too often stupid people do things like this and give the public reasons to not like the sport.
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Christmas = Winter Solstice-mas
- GirthAgain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"Hammond stated that his son, who is 10 years old, first shot at kids who threw trash in the street as a Halloween prank."
Stupidity begets stupidity. - Spuy767, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Very christlike of him. I heard that Jesus egged the houses of the Romans who crucified him after he was ressurected by that Troll Shaman.
- kunradish, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6every thing now a days have pagan origins
- juicebag, on 10/10/2007, -6/+8The most peaceful religion, right?
- VitriolAndAngst, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2All Christian Holidays and MOST traditions were adopted from Pagans.
- cpk121, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Mirror: http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/Christian_Evangelist_Went_on_Anti_Halloween_Spree_with_Paintball_Gun/
- fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Has anyone claimed Christianity is the most peaceful religion? I've never heard that.
- ArchonSG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Which goes to show, its not having guns that is the problem. The problem lies with moronic people owning guns and religious moronic people are the bottom of the barrel.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2And Halloween has Christian origins. Our holidays are all kind of weird when you look past the surface.
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"If people choose to not move Christmas back to August for practical reasons, that's not the same thing as being ignorant."
Christians won't move Christmas back to August because they don't believe Jesus was born in August. - RollFizzlebeef, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3It makes perfect sense to be pro-gun and pro-Jesus. Can't you just imagine Our Savior wrapped in machine gun rounds like Rambo and mowing down sinners?
- jefuchs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"occult holiday celebrating human sacrifice, witches and goblins".
Let's see. Celebrating a man tortured and murdered on a cross, then ritually eating his flesh and drinking his blood... I can see where he had the moral high ground. - LastVisibleDog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Christmas falls just after the winter solstice - a time when once again the daylight portion of the day starts to become longer. "pagan's" did not create the solstice - not to mention "pagan" is not a religion - it is a single word created by Christians to describe people that are not followers of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Basically all you are saying in some religion other than Judaism, Christianity, or Islam had a holiday at a similar time. Easter is another day tied to the seasons (the Sunday after the first full moon on or after the day of the vernal equinox). Holidays need to be tied to seasonal invents (before calendars were widely available) so people would know when these holidays take place.
- jsmith39, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't know, I can see Christ swinging an automag with a level4 antichop and 20oz bottle of compressed air.
Convert Bitches! - Rawpulse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Second coming. Reload. RELOAD!
- jsmith39, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, no no! There is no reason to limit the times you shoot him to the times he fired. Keep it religious. 7x7xY (where Y equals the number of paintballs his family fired) seems more fair and in line with his belief structure to me.
- RollFizzlebeef, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Considering all the judging (even lest they be judged) and hatred so-called Christians spew around the world every day, I'm pretty sure they should put on the daddy pants and expect a little blowback. Jesus was enough of a martyr, mmkay?
- tbg58, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Anti-Halloween paintballing is stupid, to be sure.
But posting a two-year old story as if it's current news doesn't earn any bright points, either.
http://exchristian.net/2/2005/12/paintball-spree-was-anti-occult-says.html - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Now if an atheist went on a paintball shooting spree in a mall on Christmas Eve, I'd watch the replay in black and white with circus music playing. That's good stuff.
- eth3l, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2This is a dumb story and a headline meant only to fire up the anti-christian sentiment.
