- AdamTReineke, on 10/10/2007, -4/+66The submitter didn't mention the video. If you don't scroll down, you'll miss it like I almost did. The pictures don't communicate the speed these planes were traveling at.
- Bricks, on 10/10/2007, -2/+53If I were the third pilot watching from so close, I'd probably have a heart attack. Tragic : /
- airwalkery2k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+52Whenever I go to air shows, images like this haunt me in the back of my mind, and I hope I never see them in person.

- DarkPilot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28MalDON, you're thinking of NASCAR.
When I go to an airshow, I expect to see some kick ass flying. I definitely do NOT go to see planes crash. - Anrkist, on 10/10/2007, -8/+34"You're going left...." "No, YOU'RE GOING LEFT!" "I'm not going left, I thought you were supposed to!" "No... lets just think about this for a second..."
- Typhoon2009, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20Damn. RIP.
- jackmaht, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17God, that's horrible. I would have ***** myself if I were the 3rd pilot, front row view of the whole mess. :(
- maz2331, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18That's why I don't go anywhere NEAR air shows. I was at one in 1988 where three planes collided, and one crashed right into the crowd. There were 66 killed, and hundreds injured.
- kierand, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16any bigger pictures?
what is it with news sites and tiny, tiny pictures? - PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/10/2007, -4/+18Video: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/09/01/airshow.crash.ap/index.html
EDIT: Apparently I'm too dumb to scroll down. It's in the submitted page. - KizardLing, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14When I went through the military technical school for video production and documentation, we were shown two videos of one helicopter crash while it was landing on a ship. In the first video, you saw the whole thing from beginning to end, as the pilot lost control, got tangled up, hit the deck, and then went into the water. In the second video, the videographer dropped his camera and freaked out. We were told to be like the first guy; the second guy helped nobody, as he couldn't help the pilot but he could have helped the accident investigators and the safety folks.
Things like that video and this make me glad I never had to experience it in person. - t0ny, on 10/10/2007, -8/+20Whats with all the airshow wreaks this year?
- bizsumpark182, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13No it didn't.
- RSersen, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14DO A BARREL ROLL
- skinrock, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12You ever stop to think that if you can't post your own article linking to that stupid ass linkinn site and have it get popular, that maybe no one cares for "your" version?
- scronide, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11This is why you don't fly planes right at each other for entertainment value.
- prolog, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Unlike car racing, when planes crash at airshows there's a very real chance of someone watching getting hurt.
- Synthos, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15And the "truthers" keep asking why there are only bits of the plane left... for the Pentagon and Pennsylvania crashes.
If that's what two planes hitting each other does... imagine a plane hitting the side of a building or the ground. - Amplix, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Good grief, I feel horrible that I laughed out loud to that comment. :(
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10From the video and the pictures, it looks like maybe you can see the pilot (in yellow) disintegrate. I'm not sure if that is what that is, but look at the second picture. I could be way off. Either way it's horrific to watch, but at least it must have been quick :(
- arcooke, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Pilots aren't "its".
- thekronz, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Did that third pilot crash too? That'd be so ***** up to watch.
- Demq, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9damn how unlucky... so much space to fly and still they collide
- Sterango, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12"We all feed
On tragedy
Like blood to a vampire
Vicariously I
Live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I."
I wonder what makes people digg up a picture of what is essentially 3 people getting killed and thinking that other people should really see it.
OMG LOOK PEOPLE ARE DYING IT IZ TEH AWESOMEZ OMG." - noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Have you considered that people who take life as seriously as you generally die first?
- scronide, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8But _damn_ it sold papers.
- arjie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6If you look at the video you can see that the third plane went behind the others from the point of view of the still photographer. I thought the third collided at first too.
- scronide, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I don't remember that scene.
- Flare, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5RIP E. Chance Woods
- dacheetah, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6No, in the next picure where it has dispersed further it's clearly not human, unless the person also has yellow blood. Probably engine oil, or possibly coolant or fuel, any of which could be that shade of yellow.
- DeadFox1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Watch this vid and you tell me. (not for the faint of heart.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRGcFXHgE3w - JaYBrooks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Loads of bird strikes there.... That one where they ran the wing into another parked air plane must of caused an issue...I'd hate to be that pilot... Took it a little wide I guess.
- arcooke, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5That's not a yellow jumpsuit.. it's smoke. Look at the rest of the pictures. In photos 2-4, there is yellow smoke coming from the plane on the right after impact.
- scronide, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Well, they were clearly aiming for a near-miss... so it's not exactly a freak accident.
- strangewill, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Not only that, he had a front row seat watching two friends die... :(
- afidler, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5so...pretend it didn't happen?
and leave maynard james keenan out of this - FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Holy crap, did one of them survive?
- apollomurga, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5well with plane crashes there's probably a good chance that person will die
- samssf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The third plane was actually pretty far away - take a look at the vid.
- Cryptopsy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4So out of all the flying debris, you can spot an arm? K.....
- samssf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Only two planes collided. There's something really weird about the pics and video. Picture 3/4 does not seem to correlate with 0:42 in the video... I just spent 10 minutes trying to calculate where the two viewers were in relation to the planes, etc...
- mntalkase, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4It's sad... but yes, these are amazing shots.
- eselet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Just beacuse you wear something yellow, it does'nt mean you disintegrate into a yellow cloud.
- jserio, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Incredible! Any additional info on this?
- dewie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Here's a site with a few more pics of the crash.
http://fisherwy.blogspot.com/2007/09/aerobatics-planes-crashed-on-radom-air.html - arcooke, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I sorta hope you just happened to be between those planes at the time of impact.
- p00073, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5They've died a quick and painless death, doing what they love.
And they will be remembered by many for that.
RIP - strangewill, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Hey they still found wings. ;)
