- mardraum, on 01/11/2009, -1/+34too bad this won't work, but I'd be laughing my ***** ass off if the inflated "market value" figures the police use to beef up their stats came back to bite them in the ass from this.
or maybe cops are just dumb enough to pay four figures for an ounce. you never know. - doublefelix, on 01/10/2009, -2/+33Is there someone I can sue for the current dry spell?
- spiralspirit, on 01/11/2009, -0/+27"The plants were destroyed by burning them after we dried dried them, cut them into tiny pieces, and rolled them into tubes of paper"

- whorelock, on 01/11/2009, -1/+19Legalize it and California can keep the 5 days it wants to reduce the school year by.
- inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+17The sheriff's office could not return the plants because obviously they smoked them all.
- DAILYCROW, on 01/10/2009, -5/+17THEY BUILT GATED COMMUNITIES AROUND THE MOUNTAIN BASES HERE. CAN I SUE FOR RIGHT TO PASSAGE?

- Averness, on 01/11/2009, -1/+11Wow aren't you an ass? What if cops busted your print shop and confiscated all your computers and printers, then when your case was dismissed and they were ordered to return your property, they said it had been destroyed? Would it be ridiculous for you to sue them for the value of what was stolen? How ridiculous is it for you to post such a boneheaded comment? And to actually answer your question...A: your mom, for raising you to be an *****.
- Frankyfan3, on 01/11/2009, -3/+13If you have not seen this film and you still support prohibition I implore you to consider the evidence presented here:
Three and a half years in the making the film follows gang members, former DEA agents, CIA officers, narcotics officers, judges, politicians, prisoners and celebrities. Most notably the film befriends Freeway Ricky Ross; the man many accuse for starting the Crack epidemic, who after being arrested discovered that his cocaine source had been working for the CIA.
AMERICAN DRUG WAR shows how money, power and greed have corrupted not just dope fiends but an entire government. More importantly, it shows what can be done about it.
This is not some 'pro-drug' stoner film, but a collection of expert testimonials from the ground troops on the front lines of the drug war, the ones who are fighting it and the ones who are living it.

I thought it was mandatory to be at least a little high to peruse Digg. Why else would there be so many pictures of cats using bad grammar? - coyote1284, on 01/11/2009, -0/+9I'm right here. Use your inside typeface.
- alapoet, on 01/10/2009, -0/+8YES.
- inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+8Most freedom-loving people come to digg, and I think most freedom-loving people want the freedom to do whatever they want to their bodies. Especially when alcohol's legal, and pot's not.

“So I said, ‘prove it,’” he said, adding that in 2007 Stewart wasn’t required to prove he had been the caretaker of his “clients.”
Riese said Stewart provided him with nearly a dozen of the Prop 215 certificates for the new case.
"prove it"? since when is it the defendants job to "prove it".
***** cops man. Forget legalizing pot for while, we need major law enforcement reform first. Law enforcement has lost so much credibility and respect I am surprised we don't have looting and riots every single day. - inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6Are you familiar with the phrase "Low Hanging Fruit?"
- jennaprovencio, on 01/12/2009, -0/+6Well thank you for that wonderful demonstration of close-headed *****-ness. It's the ignorant and cold-hearted people like you who should never see the light of day.
Digg this if you think ignorance should be illegal... not pot. - inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6Yes, let's never challenge anything the government does. I mean we're here to serve them, right?
- ChildeRoland420, on 01/11/2009, -1/+7Growing pot is legal in Cali. Why should he go to jail for it?
- smurf22, on 01/11/2009, -2/+7I hope he wins, if the law say's you can legally grow it then let him. While he may not have needed 93 plants he needs a rotation so he can always keep his supply up. FYI most cannabis card holders can't smoke their weed so they have to eat it in various foods. While 3.5g might get 8 people "high" it might give one or two people the same effect.
- Coinspinner, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5I stopped smoking, so now everyone has it where I live :-/
- catalystmotive, on 01/11/2009, -1/+6FIGHT THE POWER!
- mykool, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5 Digg is about getting out news that would otherwise not get out, do you think this will be on the CBS evening news? The drug war is a very important issue, the laws surrounding the prohibition of "street drugs" are the most unconstitutional on the books. The reasons the government use for having these laws have all be proven false. By taking drugs off the streets and putting them in the drug store where they belong ( legalization ) we would have a much better chance at regulating them, making it easier to have age limits and taxation.
Yet the main stream media does not report on this. All they report on are bust and any new pro-prohibition developments. That is why Digg has so many pot related articles. - coyote1284, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5He should also take a note from the RIAA and sue for the potential plants that would have grown from the confiscated plants.
- j0hn, on 01/11/2009, -2/+7Dugg because the article said "moot".
- crazlunatic, on 01/11/2009, -2/+7power to him!
- Coinspinner, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4....and very real budget problems around.
- coyote1284, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3Guess I'll count my mental state as perma-stone...
- Amshel, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Yet another example of the federal government ignoring the 10th amendment and violating states' rights to dictate what is and is not legal in their borders.
- Livert, on 01/11/2009, -6/+10***** the grammar police
- ap4p, on 01/11/2009, -1/+5Damn its so dry around here too. *****.
- wassim2k, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4Is the dog in the thumbnail the pot grower in question?
- AriaStar, on 01/11/2009, -0/+4LEGALIZE IT!! If we can smoke cancer-causing cigarettes and drink ourselves stupid on liver-killing alcohol, why the ***** can't we adults smoke some cancer-reversing pot if we want to?!
He should win. The plants shouldn't have been destroyed before a ruling (destroyed by being smoked, probably). Unfortunately this state can't pay. We're bankrupt in a few more weeks. - Coinspinner, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3He is using the formula that the Drug Task force uses. Ya know, they take a joint price and multiply that by the 40-tons they just found to come up with like some 10-digit figure to impress us who pay their salary.
So this guy says they owe him quite a bit of money using that formula, LMAO. - inactive, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3why are you directing us to your poorly designed blog with content that has nothing to do with this article?
- AllHereTruth, on 01/11/2009, -2/+5i lold...i lold hard...i lold hard irl...
svedka ftw - theadvinci, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3Send my best to his balls.
- CaptainDDL, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3BALLS OF STEEL
- coyote1284, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3I have to half agree with syntax, you gotta be pretty ***** stupid to think you can successfuly sue for lost wages from illegal income. By law, he should be in jail, by ideal, I have no issue with pot.
- Betrayer, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3“If you’re not doing a commercial operation, then what is the profit of a plant that you can’t legally sell?” he asked.
Priceless, it is almost irreplaceable, patients are unable to purchase this medication just anywhere, it could be cause for pain and suffering for the 20+ legal patients.
they should get the same "fair value" that they charge illegal drug growers (the whole plant being weighed not just buds) with the entire crop being valued at its highest rate....plus pain and suffering for the loss of medication
- CatsAreGods, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2New definition of "Chutzpah"!
- Harboggles, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2If this guy wins the law suit that is an admission from government that the selling of marijuana is a legitimate business like any other.
- Mooseka, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2haha well played sir
- WalterSobchak88, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2stir the ***** my friend
- Spartacusprime, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2Fail.
- Frankyfan3, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2I've seen most of those other movies, and can recommend them all.
I thought the director's personal story and relation of the effects of legal alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical drugs, along with former CIA agent Robert Steele's first hand accounts were especially moving and persuasive arguments.
I appreciate the background on Michael Ruppert, I didn't really know who he was until I saw the film. -
