- synystar, on 04/25/2008, -4/+30How can a beautician and a school teacher afford six lawyers? Pro Bono I suppose? Do they expect to win? How much is it costing them to work the case if they don't expect to be compensated? Are they just trying to make a point? If they do win how much of that goes to the Chinese people and how much to the lawyers and these two? Do they do a DNA test for each citizen to prove that they are at least mostly Chinese? How much money will be spent on the logistics of distributing the cash? This all seems so ridiculous. I have too many questions.
- wtfmate112, on 04/25/2008, -2/+12"Are they just trying to make a point?"
Yes- synystar, on 04/25/2008, -1/+4Agreed.

- yellowfish04, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3there's probably thousands of state-contracted lawyers just sitting around having nothing to do year-round....the CCP probably saw a chance for proving "the Glory of China!!" and threw their best 6 lawyers at the case

- KMartSheriff, on 04/25/2008, -2/+2Seriously. ***** China.
- onetimeuse, on 04/25/2008, -5/+1Just wanted to say, If any Chinese American agrees with this lawsuit, then GTFO, Should put them in jail for disagreeing with the news. That should be ok, since their government does that.

- NateDog, on 04/25/2008, -6/+214Generally speaking I find most people on the planet to be utterly insulting. Anyone know how can I file suit against the world? I'll be seeking a mere $6,663,410,363 and just to prove I'm not in it for the money I'm going to pledge 90% of my take to help fight baseless lawsuits.
- HydrogenY, on 04/25/2008, -3/+7Foolish person. Don't you know that the lawyers would take half, leaving you $2665364145.2 in the hole. Assuming you meant 90% of your half, that still means that your plan has screwed the world and made the lawyers rich.
- EwMo, on 04/25/2008, -0/+6"of my take" means of the money NateDog receives from the lawsuit...
- JohnSteel, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1So out of $6,663,410,363 he only gets $266,536,414.52.
- LonesomeFighter, on 04/25/2008, -0/+5i know it's hardly worth the paper work
- Monk22, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1only $266,536,414.52? not worth
- sotopheavy, on 04/25/2008, -10/+4It's kind of like that saying that McCain's wise spiritual leader said: Gays caused Louisianians to throw a gay pride parade which offended God and caused God to cause Katrina... Therefore Gays caused Katrina... LOL
- FuzzMop, on 04/25/2008, -3/+1Suing the "gays" (a term Christian's know and abuse) in the U.S. just wouldn't work. Too many people have killed them in the United States because they are so widely hated by Christians. There wouldn't be enough money made. =

- hillpehle, on 04/25/2008, -14/+98This is too much!.. Can I counter suit for each product they have illegally copied and sent to the US? Even at $0.25 per item times our population = OH MY....

- donkeybat64, on 04/25/2008, -1/+24we could probably find some of those illegally copied products on your hard drive.
- statstudent, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0or the air pollution that makes it across to here in LA (20% of LA air pollution is due to china). although, then i suppose countries could sue the US for our contribution to global warming.
- louiebaur, on 04/25/2008, -3/+40Good luck with that one
- StevenJV, on 04/25/2008, -0/+5Lots of countries bad mouth the USA, but we're not suing everyone... maybe we should - would be less bloody and might help the economy
- bstory, on 04/25/2008, -15/+178I say sue china for sending substandard products for our children to play with.
- donkeybat64, on 04/25/2008, -8/+21i say you shouldn't complain because ultimately it is you who decides whether to or not to purchase a product that is made in china.
- unorginalityftw, on 04/25/2008, -1/+6Ever try finding a product that isn't? It can take days. And even then you might not find one.
- roberts1111, on 04/25/2008, -3/+6you vote for the kind products that is available on the store shelf with how you spend your money... I am sure the market wasn't filled with all chinese made products right away, you initially had a choice between a much more expensive american made product or the same product for much cheaper except its made in China. The vast majority of you had to choose to buy the Chinese product in order for this to happen. If you really wanted to pay twice more for all your goods, you should of voted with your dollars the right way the first time.
Heck...You still have the option, make a petition and make your voices heard. Just don't blame China when your own ignorance that your own greed is at work, and don't talk crap about people working their asses off for dollars a day making these parts...
Why? When they are lowly paid, you laugh out loud about their insignificance in the world, when they finally attain a higher standard of living through education, you complain about them taking away your jobs.. so what you are saying is that they should not exist unless they live for the sole purpose of serving you... the almighty American right? Give me a break, the world doesn't revolve around you and you need to learn to live in reality.- DentThat, on 04/25/2008, -1/+1Beautifully spoken sir
- chaoswings, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3Please, everything is made outside of the USA. Even if something says "made in the USA" all it really means is that it was put together over here but the parts could be from china. It is impossible to avoid unless they start changing the law to include the origin of every part on the tag.
- bullhead2007, on 04/25/2008, -0/+2I used to buy only things that said Made in USA, but I don't think that's really an option for me anymore.
- rugrat54, on 04/25/2008, -9/+7I would love to see CNN go out of business. American Media hurts us more than it helps. They are a bunch of sneaky b******* for the NWO. I say every American sue every Mainstream News Station on the same day in protest.
(but no because of chinas issues with our 1st amendment laws)- Ravenhaft, on 04/25/2008, -2/+5Isn't NWO a professional wrestling group?
- rugrat54, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1No, I think their whole skit went out a couple of years ago...
- FuzzMop, on 04/25/2008, -2/+4And. I'd much rather see Fox go out of business. At least CNN has *SOME* interesting news. Fox is just full of BS that no one (except Republicans) care about...
- rugrat54, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1Granted, though they still do not offer up actual questioning of government nor truth worth knowing. Get rid of the news and people have to take responsibility of holding public servants responsible and reasearching information. Which means more people are informed and better informed than the MSM would ever do.
- Ravenhaft, on 04/25/2008, -2/+5Isn't NWO a professional wrestling group?
- bronyraurstomp, on 04/25/2008, -4/+15My friend, I deal with China, I import from China, and they make what you tell them to. If I, Mattell(for example) tell them hey factory(China), make the toys with lead on them, its ok ill buy them... You see, we ask for samples, send me a sample of what you are making me, and based on that sample ill buy what you are making or not.
Its not the makers fault, its the buyer. Why dont I see any Mattell people saying, yeah, theyve got lead, so what?- ipdom, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2Very true
- DeathMote, on 04/25/2008, -0/+7It's still possible for the factory to later change the materials in their products, mostly as a cost cutting measure. The factory likely didn't think of the repercussions of adding lead to paint. Greed is a big problem in China, and some individuals have little regard for the safety and health of others.
Harming other just to make a little more money isn't hurting just the countries China exports to. It happens within China as well. The Chinese government also has a keen interest in stopping this because incidents like this damage the reputation of the country heavily.
Still, it's the responsibility of the buyer as you said to perform adequate quality assurance on all the products they sell even after the initial sampling.- Wrangler76, on 04/25/2008, -1/+1It's also greedy to skimp on safety inspections and quality control on Mattel's and the government's part, yet no one talked about that. There wasn't even coverage on how the tiny dangerous magnets were Mattel design and not CHina's fault.
- bloosteak, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2there's a reason mattel apologized.
manufacturers are 100% responsible for their finished goods. do you guys think outsourcing is just some guy calling up china and asking for a factory to be set up?
- bloosteak, on 04/25/2008, -1/+1and I don't see how it's damaging the reputation of the country? if an american car, let's say a ford pinto has a major defect did that reflect on America as a whole?
my god. yellow peril is indeed alive and well.
- Sephaa, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1I'd sue the companies that buy from china sending substandard products for our children to play with.

- noseeme, on 04/25/2008, -10/+143Note to China: Simply having one's "feelings hurt" is not a reason to sue.
Actually, I take that back. Let CNN pay China back in 1.3 billion dollars worth of children's toys with lead paint.- Akaji, on 04/25/2008, -4/+9Those lead toys were never meant to be sent to American children - they were China's way of trying to limit their own population.
- WiseWeasel, on 04/25/2008, -2/+2's intellegence... TFTFY...
Seems rather counterproductive.- Akaji, on 04/25/2008, -1/+1Your first line makes no sense. As for your second line, China's been trying to limit its population growth for decades now in an attempt to bolster its economic growth (as it is, there are too many people in China). They made the mistake of making a law that stated that couples may only have one child; those living in the cities followed the law, but they weren't the real problem. The real problem was those living in the rural areas, where 5+ children isn't uncommon (due to the need for labor on small family-owned subsistence farms)... those people had no interest in following that law, and it wasn't very well enforced.
- elint6, on 04/25/2008, -1/+4@Akaji: Lead levels found in toys only cause retardation and not death....that's what WiseWeasel was trying to say... "limit the population'S INTELLIGENCE."

- donkeybat64, on 04/25/2008, -16/+6The western media bias is hurting the chinese people and the china's image.
Please watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZf_Ag7SmxI
we are not just sick of some station in atl we are sick and tired of everybody using china as a scapegoat for the worlds problems.
china sends protective police force into Xi Zang (Tibet) to stop domestic terriorism violence and riot, the west viewed it as Chinese army and tanks suppressed innocent monks and protesters.
But if china didnt send protective forces, the west would have argued the chinese police pretended to be terrorists to give the government a reason for religious suppression.
another example : when china decided to enforce 1 child policy, the west viewed it as China was ignoring human rights, but if china didnt enforce it, they would have said "china was killing the earth with its growing population"
Another example:
When united states entered Iraq, its called "fighting terrorism and bringing democracy to Iraq"
When china buys oil from sudan and exchange weapons for oil, it becomes "china is supporting genocide in sudan"
see what im saying?- artliquide, on 04/25/2008, -1/+3How do differing opinions justify a lawsuit?
- inobla, on 04/25/2008, -1/+5I've got no problem with the Chinese people... I just don't care for their government. If they're not half as bad as western media has made them out to be, what's with the massive internet and media restrictions imposed on their citizens?
- fitriidayu, on 04/25/2008, -1/+3its the same for any country.. what the west does is right, what the rest does is wrong.
Its the world as we know it.- betterth, on 04/25/2008, -0/+4No, the rest of the world isn't wrong.
But the Chinese government are insanely corrupt and wrong. Theres no way around it. The Chinese government is ***** up. Don't give me the "Oh you just hate them because you're western and they're not so you can't understand cultural differences"
I believe all people have the fundamental right to life, liberty, property, speech and religion. The UN and most western governments agree. China does not.
- betterth, on 04/25/2008, -0/+4No, the rest of the world isn't wrong.
- jacobj, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1The Chinese government is not above reproach and the individuals here have as much right to criticise China's rule as they do that of any government, including and especially their own. The defence of a Country's rulers using the "well you're just as bad argument" doesn't really hold any water, since each action must stand up. However, when a government (such as America's) attacks China for its immoral actions whilst it continues to support war in the Middle East, or refuses modify its international trade policies even though they cause suffering to millions, or when they work around their own rules by holding prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, then we have to accuse them of rank hypocrisy and not defend them blindly.
Having said all that, I am a staunch utilitarian and believe that each action's correctness can be judged by the total amount of good, versus the total amount of bad that it does. With a population of 1.3 billion, when China's foreign policy makes others suffer at the expense of a gain for their own population, I have to look at the detail a bit. Smaller numbers please!- KiraDnote, on 04/25/2008, -3/+0The US does not support war in the middle east or anywhere else.
- betterth, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3Just like the dichotomy between the Chinese people and it's government, the majority of Americans disagree with the war in Iraq and the middle east.
Very few people in America thumb their nose at China while supporting the war in Iraq. The ones that do are called neocons and we laugh at them anyway. - sw33tsarin, on 04/25/2008, -2/+1Kira was that sarcasm? If not, that's probably the most retarded thing I'll hear all year.
- masamunecyrus, on 04/25/2008, -2/+6Alright, I'll take a stab at this point-by-point.
"china sends protective police force into Xi Zang (Tibet) to stop domestic terriorism violence and riot, the west viewed it as Chinese army and tanks suppressed innocent monks and protesters."
At the beginning, they were just peaceful protests. And a few did get out of hand. But then there's a difference between crowd control and riot police, and a para-military police force that fires on anyone it sees necessary, and there's a difference between controlling the situation and forcing all foreigners out of the area, forcing all journalists out of the area, and not letting anyone in or out of the region except for more paramilitary forces.
"But if china didnt send protective forces, the west would have argued the chinese police pretended to be terrorists to give the government a reason for religious suppression."
We have PICTURES of Chinese police dressing up as monks. Furthermore, it's a historical fact -- not even China denies it -- during the last large-scale protests in Tibet, there are documents and testimonies proving that China posed as Tibetian monks specifically for the intent to rile up the crowd and incite violence, giving the police an excuse to use any means necessary to contain the situation. Furthermore, when you re-educate an entire region of people, both the children AND forcing people to "re-learn" a fake, propagandist history of Tibet, when you paint the Dalai Lama, a figure that the rest of the world looks up to as a mostly peaceful figure, as a demon, a monster, a rebel terrorist, and a murderer, and when you libel anyone that disagrees with said propaganda anti-Chinese and an enemy of China, it doesn't get you any points in the rest of the world. Did I mention that the government of China has paid thousands of ethnic Han to move into Tibet and start businesses? And then you're confused why Tibetians are angry, since you came to them and brought them technology, resources, and money (read: took over the country, overthrew the government, and began rapid industrialization). Tibetians are angry for similar reasons that Iraqis are angry at America!
"another example : when china decided to enforce 1 child policy, the west viewed it as China was ignoring human rights, but if china didnt enforce it, they would have said "china was killing the earth with its growing population""
I can't really argue with that, other than I'd prefer killing the earth with a growing population over enforcing a one-child policy.
"When united states entered Iraq, its called "fighting terrorism and bringing democracy to Iraq"
When china buys oil from sudan and exchange weapons for oil, it becomes "china is supporting genocide in sudan""
It -was- called "fighting terrorism and bringing democracy to Iraq." Now, the war is fantastically unpopular, our president has the lowest approval rating in history, and the Congress's approval rating is even lower. The whole world now opposes the Iraq war. But nevertheless, we exchange money for oil, not weapons. And certainly we do not supply a war-stricken country with huge shipments of arms, especially not during a political crisis and civil war with mass genocides.
Having worked with many Chinese recently, and having several Chinese friends, it's become abundantly clear that China is one of the few countries whose patriotism is as great as America's. However, while America is patriotic, criticizing the government and criticizing what we do are often encouraged. Indeed, there are many millions of people who hate our current government, and everyone will admit that there are a lot of things wrong with the country. My suggestion to the many Chinese that love their country so much -- keep doing it, that's fine. But recognize when your government is wrong, recognize when they're feeding you propaganda, and stop defending everything that an increasingly less people-representative government does. Just because the government is your government doesn't mean that you have to like it. Governments and countries are separate, so when your government is wrong, it's best to admit it.

- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -2/+1perhaps it's in part because as a result of our piss-poor media, most of us still think they're not allowed to see it. This is not a defense of Chinese state media of course.. but I'm not going to defend CNN, Fox News, or assorted local crap no matter what they're being compared against.
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -1/+5To further clarify that I'm not defending the lawsuit either.. I've actually spoken to some Chinese in China. They've heard the quote and are interpreting it outside of its cultural context. When we hear about China and hear the quote "They're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years.", we know they're talking about the government. Because we've heard them referred to in that way many times, and we're sympathetic to ordinary Chinese a lot of the time. The Chinese aren't aware that the government has been so openly criticized, so when the quote is translated accurately without that context, they think it's just as likely that Cafferty is referring to the Chinese people in general.
- sulthernao, on 04/25/2008, -6/+4Who the ***** cares what China thinks. I say go to WW3 if they threaten our freedom of speech.

- manoftheisland, on 04/25/2008, -3/+6Is china paying you? I hope so... b/c otherwise you are off your government made rocker... the point with the one child policy is ridiculous... since when does telling your citizens when they can reproduce become a positive thing? Since when does block information from your population equal a good thing? Since when does making toys that can make your own children sick make sense? Since when does moving all your homeless out of your capitol just so the media doesn't see them at the Olympics make sense? I submit that China is out of its freaking mind even mentioning that its "western media" bias when it comes to the hideous way they treat their own people... just ask south Korea, Japan, or any other free country around there... its ridiculous
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -2/+1Koreans and Japanese tend to think that we're a little quirky too actually.. but we'd say the same of them. I think a lot of Koreans in particular would argue that it is sometimes beneficial to most people if certain information is blocked. It's a funny world.

- corfe83, on 04/25/2008, -0/+5Donkeybat,
(disclaimer: my wife is Chinese, and I'm sure agrees with me about all of the below - I used to live with her for 6 months in China where I taught English to adults, and I've travelled there several times before and since. So I don't want any "you've never been to China, you don't understand" trolls)
I love the Chinese people. I don't like the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), that is in control of China's government. I feel they are corrupt liars, who make everyday Chinese believe that loyalty to the party and loyalty to the country are the same thing. I assert they are NOT the same thing.
Nobody kicks all independent journalists out of an entire city (most of Tibet actually) just to "protect the people". China has always disallowed even peaceful protests from happening. Do you know what happened in Tian An Men square, or do you believe the CCP's story that those people were not killed? If the CCP is correct, why are people not allowed to write books about Tian An Men square in China (without party approval)? Getting back to Tibet, why does the Chinese media still refuse to directly quote the Dalai Lama? Instead, they falsify quotes to their own people, to make it seem that he is encouraging the violence.
I've often heard Chinese complain and protest that Japan has false history books. However, in Japan, each school can choose their history books - so yes, some of them don't treat World War 2 as accurately as they should (Japan definitely was the aggressor, and Japanese students should know that). However in China, false history is taught to ALL of its children. For example, my wife was brought up believing that the Korean war was not authorized by the U.N. This is a flat-out lie. The Chinese media still teaches that it was a good thing to install Kim Il Sung as the king of that particular country - unfortunately, most Chinese aren't aware that the country is run like a prison.
Why does China not allow its citizens to discuss politics as they wish? My wife once sent a text message with "Deng Xiao Ping" in it - the message wasn't delivered, and instead she received an automatic message from the police saying she shouldn't send messages of a political nature, and to be more careful in the future. This was just a few years ago (we both now live outside of China).
Why can't people talk openly about the cultural revolution in China? For example, Zhang Yimou (IMHO one of the best Chinese director)'s movie "To Live" is still banned in China. How can you ever think that banning a movie is a good idea? If the movie is lies, you can point out the lies. What are they afraid of, unless it's true? Even if you think the movie should be banned, why are Chinese not allowed to protest to their government about this?
I agree with your criticisms about my country. I don't think we should have entered Iraq, and I don't like our policy towards Iran or many other countries. I speak out against those actions as well. Even if we can't agree on the Tibet issue, can you agree with me at least that there is a problem with state-controlled media and government censorship in China?

- mohamedmansour, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2not really... leave the width crop the height, will be the same size but shorter .... Therefore, it pretty much tells what is happening in CNN photographic media
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0If they cropped the height and didn't adjust the width, it wouldn't have fit CNN's standard aspect ratio (unless they used letterboxing, but then the cropping would be pointless, since you wouldn't get added resolution). If they didn't do any cropping, then the details would be small, because the resolution available in that space is small. Part of how they're irresponsible is that they strictly conform to standard formatting and presentation at the expense of authenticity.
- mohamedmansour, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2not really... leave the width crop the height, will be the same size but shorter .... Therefore, it pretty much tells what is happening in CNN photographic media
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -1/+3Actually, I noticed something further. The image on the right is not the original either. It is an alternate cropping. Both of the pictures would have been better if no cropping had occurred (CNN's edit was more questionable, since it removed something critical). News agencies ought to be much more sensitive before they crop their images. The photographers have a huge responsibility too of course.
- Hangly, on 04/25/2008, -1/+4That doesn't relate to the case at all.

- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -11/+58I'm ethnically Chinese and I approve of CNN's observation about the Chinese government.
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -2/+7That's sort of the crux of this. The Chinese in China had missed out on the past criticism of the Chinese government, so they don't know that "goons and thugs" is practically a synonym for the CPC. It got translated accurately without the cultural context (the state media wouldn't want to clarify this even if they understood it) so they think it's talking about the Chinese people. If it were really understood and the statement came from someone Chinese in the context of corruption and excesses, it would be received as pretty accurate.. but instead there's a lovely misunderstanding.
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+6If you noticed, the people who filed the lawsuit live in New York and other parts of the US, not China.
I hate to say this, with brazenly nationalistic Chinese patriots like this in the US in significant numbers rooting themselves into Chinese enclaves like Chinatown carrying out pro-China counter-demonstrations and harassing Chinese Tibet-sympathizers, the US might actually have a good justification to intern ethnic Chinese in the US in the case of conflict with China. (Something I would abhor; I sure don't want to be interned on account of Chinese nationalists.)
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+6If you noticed, the people who filed the lawsuit live in New York and other parts of the US, not China.
- Y0tsuya, on 04/25/2008, -0/+16According to them, you and anyone who doesn't support CCP is a Han traitor.
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+8Who says you have to be Han to be Chinese? China has many ethnicities besides the Han. Better to be an honest "Han traitor" than a racist nationalist idiot with no shame for atrocities committed by anyone of Han descent.
The "CCP" is the "Chinese Communist Party"; the communists are always railing against "imperialism". They can go eat *****, 'cause what they're doing in Tibet is imperialism at its worst.
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+8Who says you have to be Han to be Chinese? China has many ethnicities besides the Han. Better to be an honest "Han traitor" than a racist nationalist idiot with no shame for atrocities committed by anyone of Han descent.
- rdoger6424, on 04/25/2008, -2/+2Oh *****, he badmouthed the GOVERNMENT?
and people are suing HIM?
I thought he was just badmouthing Chinese people in general!- rdoger6424, on 04/25/2008, -1/+1That wasn't sarcasm btw. I didn't realize that he was calling the Chinese Gov't Goons.
- blagoaw, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Yep, that's pretty much how it looks. It would have been more appropriate for them to claim $1 for each member of the Chinese government, rather than each Chinese citizen.
- EmperorChow, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2I approve of CNN's observation about the Chinese government as well, but not about the lead paint or contaminated pet foods. Those are products produced for American Companies. It's the American companies that are at fault for those products being faulty. It's their fault for not being stringent on regulations that they impose on their chinese manufacturers.
They know that by manufacturing in China, they will get cheaper labor and lowered standards. They knew that going in. It was up to them to ensure those manufacturer are up to the standards they want for their customers. China been known to drop the ball, while that's still worthy of blames, American companies need to take responsibilities too.

- Scheissen, on 04/25/2008, -12/+7If a CNN host said this about Africans then you'd see African-Americans wanting to sue CNN. And then you liberals would stand up for them cause they got their feelings hurt. Love the hypocrisy.
- fadeout, on 04/25/2008, -0/+5Your name is oh so appropriate for your comment..
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+8CNN's remarks were about China's governing powers, not folks of Chinese ethnicity. Just as the Chinese are the biggest victims of China's immorality and disregard for human rights, Africans are the biggest victims of African dictatorships. They too are goons and thugs.
- 1town, on 04/25/2008, -14/+5I don't think it's fair to give 1$ a person, seeing as all chinese people look alike.

- Mollives, on 04/25/2008, -10/+18I love all the Americans in this comments section getting all annoyed that anyone could dare make a frivolous lawsuit; which is exactly what happens thousands of times a day in their country.
- FUR10N, on 04/25/2008, -3/+11It's ok when we do it to ourselves, but not when other countries do it to us
- shazbotben, on 04/25/2008, -4/+27I love how you assume we're all okay with it happening thousands of times a day in our country.
- antonycao, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0that is how rediculous your country is. People are not okay with it, yet it exists for dozens of years.
- WikiEasy, on 04/25/2008, -3/+1It ain't about getting annoyed about a frivolous lawsuit. It's more about the massive hypocricy. Here's a government that's never showered once in their lives, complaining about someone else not taking one shower.
- KMartSheriff, on 04/25/2008, -2/+1ISN'T. Not ain't. What are you, a hick?
- bloosteak, on 04/25/2008, -5/+1isn't america the MASTER of hypocrisy? How can you seriously comment on china with a straight face? Honestly it is saddening.
- statstudent, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1nearly all frivolous lawsuits are thrown out immediately and then 90% of the remaining cases are lost... this one will be tossed out shortly.
but what we need is a law that says if a lawsuit is tossed out before going to trial because it is such a bad premise, the instigators (plaintiffs) must pay a few thousand dollars for defense lawyer fees. that would prevent a lot of this kind of crap.
- VegasJack, on 04/25/2008, -3/+10lol, the funny thing is that America even lets these ridiculous lawsuits go to court

You have every right to be pissed about the irresponsible way the Western media behaves. We're usually pissed at them too for the same reason.
That said, there are better ways to protest than attacking supermarkets, hacking websites, bullying people, and screaming insults at everyone who disagrees with you. Grow the ***** up and protest in a calm, directed and organized way. - da_bradler, on 04/25/2008, -23/+16Wow Americans have absolutely no respect for China even though China is the primary nation from preventing your nation from being absolutely bankrupt.
Americans need to understand exactly how far under Chinas thumb you actually are. China has trillions of US dollars stock piled, all they would have to do to collapse your economy and make your currency worth practically nothing is spend it.
Seriously you guys are China's bitch, they have been loaning all the imaginary you guys could eat for the last 20 years. Maybe you should show a little respect for your superiors- xenxes, on 04/25/2008, -1/+13And in turn collapse their own economy because oh, I don't know, they're dependent on exports to fuel domestic growth? Mutual destruction, kinda like nuclear war of the next generation.
- jellygraph, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1Oh great, now China wants to take on the US in the "I am superiour to everyone else" olympics. We let americans _believe_ they are superior, just so the rest if us can get on with making money, etc... If we also have to do that with China, eventually it will become obvious we are just lying to their faces to make them feel better about themselves. This is getting stupid.
