- CaptainAmerica1, on 04/25/2008, -30/+403Well, I'm insulted that China was insulted. I think I'll sue China for $5 billion.
- NateDog, on 04/25/2008, -6/+214Generally speaking I find most people on the planet to be utterly insulting. Anyone know how can I file suit against the world? I'll be seeking a mere $6,663,410,363 and just to prove I'm not in it for the money I'm going to pledge 90% of my take to help fight baseless lawsuits.
- bstory, on 04/25/2008, -15/+178I say sue china for sending substandard products for our children to play with.
- mali1, on 04/25/2008, -2/+153Heh, I guess the Chinese are more American than we thought they were.
- noseeme, on 04/25/2008, -10/+143Note to China: Simply having one's "feelings hurt" is not a reason to sue.
Actually, I take that back. Let CNN pay China back in 1.3 billion dollars worth of children's toys with lead paint. - Akaji, on 04/25/2008, -9/+125Every cell in my body is offended. That's, what, $10 trillion or so?
- GhostyBoy, on 04/25/2008, -10/+98Oh what the *****. Just because you don't like freedom of speech there doesn't mean we have to pay you to exercise it here.
- hillpehle, on 04/25/2008, -14/+98This is too much!.. Can I counter suit for each product they have illegally copied and sent to the US? Even at $0.25 per item times our population = OH MY....
- svtspeed, on 04/25/2008, -3/+69I wonder if they take IOU's? Oh wait...
- ravan46, on 04/25/2008, -10/+65$1 per person. So the majority of the country could take a day off without losing pay.
- MurphyWatson, on 04/25/2008, -2/+54Man are they gonna pissed when they find out what our first amendment is.
- SilentSpyder, on 04/25/2008, -10/+59This better not turn into anything. Cafferty is the only one on CNN that tells it like it is.
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -11/+58I'm ethnically Chinese and I approve of CNN's observation about the Chinese government.
- Turambar, on 04/25/2008, -3/+46Awesome! we can buy all our debt back now!
- GhostyBoy, on 04/25/2008, -3/+43FTA - "We hope CNN will take this seriously, because what CNN said and did has not only hurt China's feelings, but also CNN's own image."
I can't believe they actually said that. China is a ***** country. It doesn't have feelings. What is the whole continent ***** crying now? This is so ***** stupid I can hardly believe it. - WiseWeasel, on 04/25/2008, -2/+40And you could be wrong about the legos...
- louiebaur, on 04/25/2008, -3/+40Good luck with that one
- synystar, on 04/25/2008, -4/+30How can a beautician and a school teacher afford six lawyers? Pro Bono I suppose? Do they expect to win? How much is it costing them to work the case if they don't expect to be compensated? Are they just trying to make a point? If they do win how much of that goes to the Chinese people and how much to the lawyers and these two? Do they do a DNA test for each citizen to prove that they are at least mostly Chinese? How much money will be spent on the logistics of distributing the cash? This all seems so ridiculous. I have too many questions.
- inactive, on 04/25/2008, -10/+35I'm suing China for eating.....ALL THE DAMN RICE!
- Hangly, on 04/25/2008, -6/+29Note to Chinese diggers:
You have every right to be pissed about the irresponsible way the Western media behaves. We're usually pissed at them too for the same reason.
That said, there are better ways to protest than attacking supermarkets, hacking websites, bullying people, and screaming insults at everyone who disagrees with you. Grow the ***** up and protest in a calm, directed and organized way. That way people will listen to you and take you seriously. - qwertydvorak, on 04/25/2008, -1/+24we should countersue. $1Million per person who took contaminated heparin, $10Million per person who died from taking it, $1Million per lead tainted toy that was shipped here, and $1Million per tainted bag of dog food that was sold here.
- donkeybat64, on 04/25/2008, -1/+24we could probably find some of those illegally copied products on your hard drive.
- shazbotben, on 04/25/2008, -4/+27I love how you assume we're all okay with it happening thousands of times a day in our country.
- Cyberbladewolf, on 04/25/2008, -2/+24Couldn't they have just gone on strike until they got more money? Or does that only work for Canadians?
- Hangly, on 04/25/2008, -1/+23Lawsuits from Iraq, Iran and North Korea are pending.
- LongShlong, on 04/25/2008, -3/+24As long as every person in China gets their dollar... Pain and suffering, right?

- sotopheavy, on 04/25/2008, -2/+20The Chinese Government will beat that teacher and take his money when he gets back to China for allegedly supporting capitalism.
- sotopheavy, on 04/25/2008, -0/+18You have (well, the average person has) 10 trillion cells (neurons) just in your brain. There are way more cells in your entire body.
- Claw787, on 04/25/2008, -0/+16If $1 per person, by the time they reach the verdict the price will be somewhere around $1.5b.
- Y0tsuya, on 04/25/2008, -0/+16According to them, you and anyone who doesn't support CCP is a Han traitor.
- Harabeck, on 04/25/2008, -16/+32What a bunch of whiny babies... Do they really think they can sue for this? I say kudos to Jack for having the power to piss them all off.
- Akaji, on 04/25/2008, -0/+14Hell, $.001 per item. We would all be filthy rich.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 04/25/2008, -7/+20That's funny as hell, he calls them goons, then some of them want to sue his employer for 1.3 billion over words..... repeat... 1.3 billion over words out of his mouth...... more or less proving his original point.
- donkeybat64, on 04/25/2008, -8/+21i say you shouldn't complain because ultimately it is you who decides whether to or not to purchase a product that is made in china.
- Berkana, on 04/25/2008, -1/+13You don't know a damn thing about how Chinese sounds, do you? Who the hell are you imitating? Scooby Doo?
- xenxes, on 04/25/2008, -1/+13And in turn collapse their own economy because oh, I don't know, they're dependent on exports to fuel domestic growth? People are people, stop throwing labels everywhere and stupid ***** like this won't happen, no more genocides, no more inquisitions, no more frivolous debate of a woman vs. black president. Gah.
- heartsblood, on 04/25/2008, -36/+48china is good for 2 things. cheap whores and legos!
- cvxdes1, on 04/25/2008, -2/+13Every atom in my body is offended.
See what I did there? Yeah, the world is bankrupt. - fiskehaps, on 04/25/2008, -1/+12it will cost to much to do it, so the government will take it instead and use the money for the "good" of the people
- Xvash2, on 04/25/2008, -3/+14Too bad legos come from DENMARK.
- bronyraurstomp, on 04/25/2008, -4/+15My friend, I deal with China, I import from China, and they make what you tell them to. If I, Mattell(for example) tell them hey factory(China), make the toys with lead on them, its ok ill buy them... You see, we ask for samples, send me a sample of what you are making me, and based on that sample ill buy what you are making or not.
Its not the makers fault, its the buyer. Why dont I see any Mattell people saying, yeah, theyve got lead, so what? - warnergt, on 04/25/2008, -2/+13You have even more right to be pissed about the irresponsible way the Chinese government behaves.
- drugged, on 04/25/2008, -0/+10This belongs on the the Onion.
- owls27, on 04/25/2008, -0/+10wow then, China's in for a real surprise
- inactive, on 04/25/2008, -3/+13Ha ha. Good luck with that one. Did you know that there are more lawyers in Washington D.C. than in all of China.
- Ganja420, on 04/25/2008, -2/+12How in the hell are they gonna distribute $1 to all 1.3 billion Chinese people
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 04/25/2008, -3/+13Your points are missing the mark by miles. If anything we help the Chinese government too much, especially corporations willing to follow the governments cencorship rules.
Iraq has gone pretty *****, but Iraq and Darfur are not equivalent whatsoever. - wtfmate112, on 04/25/2008, -2/+12"Are they just trying to make a point?"
Yes - diggimator, on 04/25/2008, -1/+11This should have been automated on April 1.
