CFIT - Controlled Flight Into Terrain

cfit.com — Cfit is an accident that occurs when a pilot accidentally flies into a mountain or some other kind of terrain. Apparently the term Cfit was developed in the 70 ’s. My question is how do you accidentally loose control of an aircraft and crash it?
