- TheBinaryNinja, on 02/10/2008, -15/+304why hack stage6? fags
- j2p2f2, on 02/10/2008, -3/+241Personally, I don't want to click on the link in fear of Goatse... So, I'll take your word for it.
- sdquinn, on 02/10/2008, -5/+126Stage6 is ranked 176 on Alexa, while Digg is 150. A fairly big hack.
- Tendercrisp, on 02/10/2008, -3/+107Why hack stage6 ever? It's a good site. Hackers who use their skills to just harass or "rage" people can ***** off and get a life.
- Superperson, on 02/10/2008, -11/+114Way to hack a site that doesn't deserve it and/or isn't that popular.
- ybrugman, on 02/10/2008, -4/+101***** you hackers,
This site rocks and since i dont pay for cable this is one of the best ways to watch new shows. Thanks for ruining my evening Family Guy - Drehmini, on 02/10/2008, -4/+87Wow... I was wondering why I kept going back to my homepage :(
- GamingFox, on 02/10/2008, -6/+86The hacker used meta-refresh to redirect the site... to disable meta-refresh, just...
* In Opera 9 (Win/Mac): browse to opera:config#UserPrefs|ClientRefresh, then deselect the option and restart Opera.
* Firefox 2 (Win/Mac): install the Web Developer's Toolbar and click Disable → Disable Meta Redirects.
* In Internet Explorer 6 and 7: go to Tools → Internet options → Security tab → Custom Level button → Miscellaneous category → set "Allow META REFRESH" to Disable.

Also, to all who using Firefox 3 beta... just go to option > advanced > general and check "warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" - Mihai12345, on 02/10/2008, -7/+81Now it's redirecting to 2girls1cup.com. Nice.
- mrjit, on 02/10/2008, -2/+64Seriously, thats what I want to know. I ***** love Stage6.
- ElbertF, on 02/10/2008, -2/+60You make it sound like it's your browser's homepage.
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -2/+51It's pretty ***** popular, but yes, it definately doesn't deserve it.
- PhireN, on 02/10/2008, -4/+51speak for your self.
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -1/+47Here's what we get now.
http://i27.tinypic.com/2ywi8ud.png - matx, on 02/10/2008, -1/+45seems to be fixed now

Incase this gets popular in a few hours when it is fixed
Oh yeah i got goatsed trying to take that picture - inactive, on 02/10/2008, -2/+40Hacking web sites and redirecting them = fun, but, stage6 rocks and i hate the fact that it was hacked. Its a great site and i love it
- xbarnesx, on 02/10/2008, -2/+40well that's just plain stupid.
- Step1Mark, on 02/10/2008, -0/+35you are brave.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -8/+38Oh c'mon, we've all seen goatse a million times already, it's not that shocking any more.
- fkr3, on 02/10/2008, -1/+31While that's sound advice the legitimate use for redirecting within websites is going to piss anyone off who does that. Disabling automatic redirecting for the sake of 1 site being hacked isn't worth it.
- robbh66, on 02/10/2008, -2/+31they register webpage shows, not amounts of data.
If that were the case pornsites would rule the internet. - Gabberwok, on 02/10/2008, -2/+31I'm assuming this was paid for by the MPAA?
- colto, on 02/10/2008, -1/+29Haha I have to admit that was pretty clever. Super tranny hentai ftw.
- Krumm, on 02/10/2008, -2/+29Pfffft! Martha Stewart...
- punkrawker, on 02/10/2008, -2/+27In regards to the hack, viewing the password list they released, there is great suspicion that they didn't hack ALL the passwords. It looks more like they implemented a XSS or some social engineering hack (created a fake login screen) and collected passwords of those who fell for it. It would explain why the passwords are not encypted, as well as why it seems there are so many repeated passwords only seconds apart in the list-- users trying repeatedly to login (via a fake login). Chances are, they scored an admin password at some point, which let them modify greater aspects of stage6 OR modified aspects of the site via another XSS attack. Compromised users are likely only those who have had trouble logging into stage6 at some point in the last 2 months
- nakile, on 02/10/2008, -2/+26Goatse and Ebaumsworld? What type of combo is that?
- computergod, on 02/10/2008, -2/+26As someone else pointed out, this site is more popular on Alexa rankings then Digg.
Also, it kicks youtube's sorry ass in terms of quality. Both quality of video, and quality of users. Youtube: 320x240 worthless flash video, worse then VHS. Hell, worse then VCD. Stage6: Full 1080p 1920x1080, smooth, low CPU usage, and you can download it without having to use 3rd party software. - BluesFan, on 02/10/2008, -1/+25I agree, I like stage6...why not go after microsoft or maybe try and hack the pentagon or even better yet go jerk off some where.
- estvir, on 02/10/2008, -5/+26Alexa? That's still around?
- fxu1989, on 02/10/2008, -2/+23WHAT ... IT'S NOT IN YOUR BROWSER ?
.... - inactive, on 02/10/2008, -0/+21Cmon, that was pretty witty....
- Kontraband9, on 02/10/2008, -11/+30how stupid are people to waste their life on pointless ***** like this?
- BlueSkyfish, on 02/10/2008, -6/+25Copyright holders like the MPAA and TV networks hate sites like stage6 and youtube. Although I doubt they'd do something like this.
It was probably just some guy that wanted to cause drama (for the lulz) - Katteno, on 02/10/2008, -2/+20Just go to places other than the home page, like to a specific vid from your history and your set, whoever did this was pretty stupidly ineffective.
- valkyries, on 02/10/2008, -1/+18I smell teen spirit.
- inactive, on 02/10/2008, -0/+17They're both horrendous sites.
- alpharaptor, on 02/10/2008, -3/+20stage6 is one of the most unorganized video sites i've ever seen, just try to search for something and you'll get a list of EVERY video on the site. good luck browsing a category and fat chance finding something in english.
- estvir, on 02/10/2008, -6/+23More people are using it than MacOS and Linux combined. :o
- db113456, on 02/10/2008, -0/+15What a brave soul.
- pizzler, on 02/10/2008, -2/+16I was right in the middle of uploading a movie too! I hope I don't have to re-upload it all over again!!
- zeal2k7, on 02/10/2008, -8/+20Anonymous does not smile upon such shenanigans.
- computergod, on 02/10/2008, -2/+14***** me, looks like they are doing more then just phishing for passwords. It appears to have been trying to infect users with "W32/Agent.ECBJ" when they tried to d/l the DivX plug-in. I just got serious egg on my face in this earlier thread:

There's a high quality cg video out now.

So they look pretty serious this time.
It's not just a video of half developed gameplay that anyone could make.

That site is 100% legit, it's your no-name anti-virus scanner that has issues. Norman Anti-Virus? Never heard of it.

Be a "computergod" or recommend "Norman" products. You can't be both. - AriaGloris, on 02/10/2008, -1/+12The site is ***** awesome. Period.
- mraustin1337, on 02/10/2008, -0/+11Why would anyone do that to firefox? You are cruel...
- rastakid, on 02/10/2008, -0/+10No, most probably not. And this 'serious security breach' could very well be just a random portscan. Don't worry about this, happens all the time.
- mraustin1337, on 02/10/2008, -0/+9Oh. I see what you did there.
- MillionsLivio, on 02/10/2008, -1/+10Use SurfTheChannel.com until it's back up. They actually use Stage6 and other sites as sources, so if one goes down there are alternatives; good site.
- StolenLamp, on 02/10/2008, -0/+8Well who the ***** is he? Why is he worth pissing off? (no offense) Why do these hackers attack the innocent, you ask? It's simply because they were ignored as children, and are making up for it by using their stupid "hacking" skills to piss off a few thousand people in order to get attention. No one knows who he is (yet), but just seeing that he can still affect people makes his life that much less pathetic.
- GawtMilk, on 02/10/2008, -0/+8Yeah, and they'll put you on a stamp for that.
"Let it be known, that a year ago today, on February 10th, 2008, an anonymous hacker pissed off Digg User Tendercrisp. A moment of silence, please." -
