- LucasVB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Forget about the car, those teacups are amazing!
- scottmoss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I did this years ago.... with a early 70's green Gremlin.... instead of tea cups I used wooden blocks and was used as a beautiful center piece in my driveway with lovely flowers growing around it....
- ThrasherC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The "article" says it was lowered onto the teacups with a crane.
- dscx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7i can see it now, waiter there's a car in my soup!
- Wolfbeta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I just drove by it on the way to work. It's at Bay and Bloor (Toronto).
- chubbymidget, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Give credit to that crane operator.
- AZTriGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I was going to say, that's some seriously strong china! If the weight was evenly distributed, that's about 740lbs on each cup. I'll bet if you tapped the side of the cup with a spoon it would crumble, same concept as how tubes are so strong when the load is pushing down on the ends but if you put any force in the middle while it's supporting the weight it will crumple and fail.
- OfARevolution23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5But for Thanksgiving, maybe a festive brown with orange would have been better?
- senseigmg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That peppermint green is an awesome color.
- ThrasherC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4RTFA -- its dated yesterday, so you still might be able to catch it if you're in Canada, eh?
- alf86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed. They are ever so lovely.
- TheVetos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Man, that must have been a pain to get up there.
- Durinthal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In the history of the universe? You obviously never went to the Betelgeuse Seven Museum of Table Centerpieces before the Great Collapsing Hrung Disaster of Gal./Sid./Year 03758.
- Champzilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Reminds me of standing on a empty can of coke and having someone flick it. I wonder what would happen if someone tapped on of the tea cups.
- Rabid_Llama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's a terrible centerpiece -- how are you supposed to talk to the people across from you? :P
As for the teacups, I don't understand why they're trying to market their teacups as having very high structural integrity. I normally buy china based on aesthetic qualities, not weight bearing capabilities. - blueskydiver76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How is anybody going to get to their tea?
- light50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ya. This is the India range from Wedgwood

$45 US a cup... - Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Hey mom, can you please lob over another roll for me?"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The tea cups are a ruse and there's likely support that goes through them to the plates between the tire and cup lip. No way the angular walls of the cups could support the direct-downward forces pressing on them from the car.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tubes are strong but those tea cups aren't exactly engineered to support any kind of weight. That is a most impressive display!
- stainmenow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So...is it an advertisement for the car or the cups?
- u8myfoood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1WHERE'S THE FOOD, A DINNER CENTER PIECE IS NO GOOD WITHOUT THE DINNER!
- static_13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they are protecting their own asses...
- fearofcorners, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0When did this happen? Anyone know if it is still on display?
- cosmicpoet, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3HAHA someone wrote "Teat cup"
- tuxidomasx, on 10/12/2007, -11/+31- drive it up a ramp.
2- jack it up.
3- put teacups under it
(i'm betting those tea cups are really super-hardened tea cups that are filled with some solid material...) - JuyLe, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I can do the same with my 1992' BMW 535i :P !
