- lhbaker, on 11/14/2007, -3/+526He got busted and outed in the same photo.
- 10001110101, on 11/14/2007, -24/+414I've heard of the Tooth Fairy... But the Pwned Pixie?
- AriaStar, on 11/14/2007, -15/+290See, people get busted all the time, but the crowning glory to this is his costume.
- bigtizzle, on 11/14/2007, -6/+228In all fairness, his original message didn't claim to be a family emergency, just that "something came up."
- Nuganics, on 11/14/2007, -11/+221Cool wand
- loganhid, on 11/14/2007, -5/+211In all fairyness
- Rkstar, on 11/15/2007, -6/+116If you read his original email, he never said "A family emergency"... just "something came up". There's just too much missing info to immediately dismiss the guy as a liar.
- idc5, on 11/15/2007, -0/+98At least he chose a light beer to watch for his figure..
- AmazingAndrex, on 11/14/2007, -7/+95Dressing up like a fairy is pretty much asking for it.
- MBHoy, on 11/14/2007, -6/+73Is it just me, or in the original email was the phrase "family emergency" never actually used?
- mlostracco, on 11/13/2007, -12/+77Die, Taser joke, die!
- aladrin, on 11/15/2007, -1/+59I think that costume -does- constitute an emergency. It would at my family, anyhow.
- lhbaker, on 11/15/2007, -2/+58Don't Out Me Bro!
- lhbaker, on 11/15/2007, -12/+67I Google the ***** out of anybody I get a resume from. Not only can I get dirt on them and pay them a lower salary, I can use embarassing pictures of them for my desktop wallpaper during the interview.
- norman619, on 11/14/2007, -5/+53I'd love to work in a company like that. Sounds like they have a sense of humor. If you do the crime you better be ready to do the time. :-)
- dotlizard, on 11/15/2007, -2/+47according to the article, he said "something came up at home and I had to go to New York this morning for the next couple days". The words 'family emergency' did not appear in that email, and the concept is only vaguely implied. "something came up" could mean pretty much anything, up to and including a party.
- Overcyn, on 11/13/2007, -3/+46lol. check out the rest of humanabyss' comments. Dont think we wouldnt notice. Reusing the same lame joke.
- mlostracco, on 11/13/2007, -0/+40My workplace used to give people a certain amount of "personal days" that they could call in for whatever reason, but they'd include for being sick—once you go past that number, you can call in sick but not get paid. Sounds good to me, and keeps people honest.
- rblancarte, on 11/14/2007, -16/+54Exactly what is the point of this? This is under the header of "Your Privacy is an Illusion", sorry, but this guy is lucky not to be fired. This smacks of exactly what 60 Minutes talked about last night, about how this Millennial generation thinks they can get away with this. Sorry, the embarrassment is earned and expected.
Now that being said, this just smacks of urban legend. - lucidapathy, on 11/14/2007, -4/+39What is your obsession with smacks? Are you a fetishist?
- mrcabnit, on 11/14/2007, -3/+36half of them are yours
- dolemite5005, on 11/13/2007, -2/+34Did you?
- thr33m, on 11/13/2007, -3/+30wned
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -3/+29Kevin?
- fuzzmeister, on 11/13/2007, -1/+26Now that's just brutal.
- mrjit, on 11/14/2007, -16/+39That's pretty damned unprofessional - in both directions.
- lhbaker, on 11/14/2007, -1/+24Maybe something really did come up, but you can't tell because he's wearing a dress.
- Bridea, on 11/13/2007, -1/+24"Your Privacy Is An Illusion"? I think not. Only the dimmest mistake Facebook as a haven of privacy.
- DeviantDragon, on 11/14/2007, -2/+24Doesn't seem like he got fired and since he chose to dress up like the fairy I doubt he gives a damn if someone sees him like that. Not really that bad of a "busting."
- lhbaker, on 11/14/2007, -2/+24Ohhh. I get it now.
- inspecality, on 11/13/2007, -1/+22who the ***** would want to work for you
- JerodSlay, on 11/14/2007, -2/+21Apply Conan's "ASS" stamp to that photo
- gronkpan, on 11/13/2007, -1/+19We only get to see the email exchange here - there's a good chance that they had an actual conversation about it at one point or another.
- Coded1, on 11/13/2007, -1/+19To lie and get busted is one thing but to get busted like this is legendary
- monkeyrun, on 11/13/2007, -3/+21Skipping internship *cough*Slavery*cough* for party is not acceptable!
- nphase, on 11/13/2007, -1/+18Comment #2 on the page: "At least he got a delicious Busch Light out of the deal."
- AriaStar, on 11/14/2007, -8/+24These replies are on a streak of lose.
- kyleforeman, on 11/13/2007, -3/+20This could hit "legendary" status soon
- Crispin, on 11/13/2007, -1/+16You're not quite done yet.
- acbeck58, on 11/13/2007, -4/+19That's why I'm honest and tell my boss I have a school activity I have to be in charge of and will have to miss work. Works every time.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+17i have three internets so he's not having as much fun
- vocalyouth, on 11/13/2007, -3/+17facebook: a place to get busted
- Grym11, on 11/13/2007, -1/+15My sister had a job like that with a similar policy and then one day she got called in and criticized for using exactly the maximum allotted number. Their argument was that it reflected poorly on her work ethic.
You can't win from the employer's perspective. Either you're "lazy" for using the days or a "liar" for calling in sick. - burdalane, on 11/13/2007, -1/+15The intern's original email didn't mention anything about a family emergency, just that "something came up." If he had vacation or personal days available, he should have been able to take them to do anything he wanted, including going to parties.
- punkrockxtian, on 11/13/2007, -3/+17DIAF
- burnttoast11, on 11/13/2007, -1/+14I doubt an intern had any vacation days..
- jmpeagle, on 11/13/2007, -6/+18what's facebook?
- stevedclarke, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11I think your sister's employer was just an ass.
- BlueScreenOD, on 11/13/2007, -2/+13I don't know about that. I can't think of any legal recourse for forwarding something that's available on a public website. You could try and claim slander, but I think it would be hard to prove malicious intent. The boss was just making an example out of an employee to discourage others from doing the same thing.
- notmiya, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11Ew, he has moobies.
