- sjbdallas, on 01/02/2009, -2/+243The real annoying part was the $35 overdraft fee.
- theadvinci, on 01/02/2009, -5/+136"his WIFE noticed the somewhat "major discrepancy of two £50-billion debits'' after HE logged on to HIS account online"
She holds his balls in a pretty tight grip. Guy can't even check his bank account without her over his shoulder. - postitnote, on 01/02/2009, -0/+109The bank advised him to temporarily pay the $208 billion now in order to prevent additional interest charges.
- awolfe91, on 01/02/2009, -1/+109Well, time to sue for $208 Billion
- BullHunter, on 01/02/2009, -0/+82Sounds like a case for the IMF to bail out
- WhoDoneIt, on 01/02/2009, -2/+77Actually, handling the bills and bank accounts is a boring and tedious job. Early on in my relationship with my now wife I clearly explained that I was bad at paying online bills and managing my accounts and would love it if she could take care of it. Of course she did because she wanted control of that. Now I don't have to worry about all that *****, even though I was never bad at it. I was just lazy and didn't want to do it.
Not everything has to with a tight grip on your balls, although I don't mind that either. - angesbiz, on 01/02/2009, -0/+63They sure didn't put it in my account!
- orlyfactor, on 01/02/2009, -0/+59Worst community chest card...ever.
- Claverhouse, on 01/02/2009, -0/+57'He was shaking and felt sick since.' Milking it much ? If I was told I owed £100 billion I'd just laugh.
- Daxx22, on 01/02/2009, -0/+46Bank error in Fat Cat's favor. Pay 700 billion.
- allocate, on 01/02/2009, -4/+47Damn, I was hoping it was actually a $2,147,483,648 discrepancy.

$$$$$ - jareducsd, on 01/02/2009, -3/+37I just accidentally £200b+ !!!
- djodorg, on 01/02/2009, -0/+30That's just plain funny in my view.
- centran, on 01/02/2009, -3/+33If it was an american bank then it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to stick them with that fee.
- Jynx97, on 01/02/2009, -1/+28As a goodwill customer gesture, they will remove one "courtesy" overdraft fee per year.
- dwtc, on 01/02/2009, -1/+28Better make it $209 billion, for his troubles... after all, what's one more billion?
- HaxAttaX, on 01/02/2009, -1/+28but then his account will only be balanced
- diecastbeatdown, on 01/02/2009, -0/+27my bank processes the transactions and overdraft fees before any deposits in the pending queue even if the deposit has an older timestamp.
so for example if i have $245 in the bank and my paycheck comes in, but i also spent $300 at the store, it will process the $300, then charge me $35, then put the deposit through.
i'm considering a class action suit at this point. - MrBabyManSTFU, on 01/02/2009, -1/+27But secretly she was hoping for that control so now she can buy $500 shoes and you won't have any idea.
- AlanIrvine, on 01/02/2009, -0/+23"We knew we still had quite a bit left in the account as we checked last night before we went out"- You know you've had a good night when you wake up £100 billion overdrawn.
- sn9500, on 01/02/2009, -2/+22What a fright!
- yacks, on 01/02/2009, -0/+20just keep your money in a cracker box and pay in cash.
- RetepNamenots, on 01/02/2009, -0/+20Or £100 billion.
- Cornea, on 01/02/2009, -2/+22I always suspected that Scotland was in Australia. It's the balmy weather which gives it away.
- ultrafez, on 01/03/2009, -0/+19You know you're a geek when you immediately recognise the significance of that integer.
- Darthcactaur, on 01/02/2009, -1/+20Greed.
- drmangrum, on 01/02/2009, -0/+18Overreact much? Seriously, if you think the bank would make an error in the amount of some countries GDP and not correct it you're a moron.
- jermm, on 01/02/2009, -2/+19But, he can buy $500 video cards, and the wife can't bitch about it. It's all part of the plan...
- KibblesnBitts, on 01/02/2009, -1/+18The whole £200?
- jareducsd, on 01/02/2009, -1/+18The whole £200!
- Thorpe, on 01/02/2009, -0/+16Where are the 'good errors' where you notice $208 billion as your current balance?
- bigteebo, on 01/02/2009, -0/+14It's about the time you are accused of stealing 208 billion by your bank, arrested, tried, convicted & found out it was a bank error....after sitting in prison for 3 years.
- Braxo, on 01/02/2009, -1/+15America needs to take the money from somewhere.
- meltingcube, on 01/02/2009, -1/+15""When I saw it - I've been shaking, I've been feeling sick - everything,'' the stunned student and part-time care worker told the BBC."
I can't believe someone would freak out like that over something like this. A normal sane person would know right off the bat it was a mistake and that they wouldn't actually have to pay that. Get a grip on life. - borez, on 01/02/2009, -0/+14That money was obviously transferred somewhere, and when it was, it earned interest.
...I'd personally claim that interest back from the bank, just like the central banks seem to do on a regular basis. - ultrafez, on 01/03/2009, -0/+12Wow, that took me back a few years...
- SoulPSuperstar, on 01/02/2009, -0/+12I would call my bank just to record someone say that my account was overdrawn by that much.
- weaksnyc, on 08/14/2009, -2/+14just switch banks
- zantos420, on 01/02/2009, -0/+11lmao "sure, let me write you a check"
- MorpheousMarty, on 01/02/2009, -0/+11If I saw I owed 100 billion, and the bank was not cooperating, I'm pretty sure I would flee to somewhere tropical. The thought of trying to go though the legal system to clear my name just makes me think, ***** it, they are all going to hell anyways, about time to work on my tan for the next 40 years.
- stuffradio, on 01/02/2009, -0/+11deed?
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -1/+11IT'S OVER 9000!
- Lucas123, on 01/02/2009, -0/+10Figures it was "overdrawn." Banks never screw up in your favor.
- crodulfo, on 01/02/2009, -0/+10its not the banks, its the government. . . .
- adconcept, on 01/02/2009, -2/+12A Bail out in need is a Bail out in ...
- Fozefy, on 01/03/2009, -0/+10Its the largest number an integer number in programming can hold, 2^31. Since machines can hold 32 bits (number of 0's/1's) and the first bit is used for positive/negative.
- eternal, on 01/02/2009, -0/+9Ahhhhh, so this is where the money from the bailouts comes from!
- ByteGuerilla, on 01/02/2009, -0/+8What exactly is Ethan Hunt going to do?
