- yuannerz, on 11/26/2007, -0/+21holy *****, riley sawyers' biological parents were in my graduating class in high school...such a small sad world
i'm glad her dad doesn't seem to be implicated in this, he was always a nice kid. - fant0m, on 11/26/2007, -1/+20I hate hearing about this. I could give 2 sh*ts about adults, because more than likely they put themselves in a stupid position - but children don't deserve this. She shouldn't have had to die just because her trashy parents didn't want her. There's other alternatives - hell, I would have taken her in just to make sure she would be safe. Granted at 19 having a daughter wouldn't be fun, but my parents did it and did it just fine.
I hate irresponsible people who's stupidity is taken out on their innocent kids. - JezusGhoti, on 11/26/2007, -3/+16People need to stop submitting stories from rawstory.com. It's such a ***** website.
It's an AP story. Is it that hard to link directly to the source?
Took me 2 seconds to find this link: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jqiP5OKdfWzRCIX ... - puppis, on 11/26/2007, -1/+10Just to make it clear, it was her mother and step-father. The real father was not involved.
- bossm4n, on 11/26/2007, -0/+9One of the local news stations went to the mothers house last week for an interview when it was suspected that her missing daughter might be the one found washed ashore. You could tell by the mothers tone and reaction that something was amiss. Her story was that authorities had showed up unannounced and taken her daughter months before, possibly pertaining to a custody dispute with the girls real father, but she never mentioned it to anyone or called to report it. I think when it all comes out in the light of day, her new husband who she met online will prove to be the one who killed her and the mother was covering for him. Incredibly sad. What a beautiful innocent little girl.
Here's a link to the original story on the AP with photos and video from the police press conference.
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/C/CHILDS_REMA ... - spawnfree, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8pretty much screams 'guilty'.
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8Beaten, then fired.
- pmctosh, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8I'm pretty sure we won't like the rest of this story either when it comes to full light.
- themouth, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8Yes, it's called "Criminal Neglect".
Please tell me you've been sterilized. - ProtoE, on 11/26/2007, -0/+8So the real crime is their irresponsible use of resources? That IS horrible!
- DiggChainey, on 11/26/2007, -0/+7Shouldn't you read the article?
The mother was shacked up with another guy, it wasn't the baby's father. - bossm4n, on 11/26/2007, -0/+7Sorry, link didn't work the first time. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/C/CHILDS_REMA ...
- dominoman44, on 11/26/2007, -0/+7I can' t believe we have people like this in the world.
- murf43143, on 11/26/2007, -0/+6Sad,
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -5/+11In vitro can cost that much (my sister is going through it now). So yeah, ummm... sigh - don't assume baby trade.
- scoottie, on 11/26/2007, -2/+8that sketch is probably the freakiest thing i have seen in a long time. The person that drew it should be fired
- ThE0eNiGmA, on 11/26/2007, -1/+6Maybe he is mad about both, but other people already expressed his sentiments on the child, but not the site. Hence his post (not taking a stance, just pointing out a logic issue.)
- ilves7, on 11/26/2007, -0/+5they found her like a month ago, they only found her name a few days ago. they called her that until they found her real name, now its how she's known to the general public.
- scabbers, on 11/26/2007, -0/+5Why grant them bail of any kind?
- redribbbon, on 11/26/2007, -0/+4how do you not report your own baby missing?
- s0nicfreak, on 11/26/2007, -0/+4It's pretty easy. In fact I'm not reporting my baby missing right now. (She isn't missing, though.)
- themouth, on 11/26/2007, -0/+3Um... CPS doesn't just "take" kids, there are court hearings and paper trails and most importantly the officer must be from THE STATE THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN. Saying that you gave the kid to an out-of-state CPS worker is like saying "Oh yeah this creepy guy in a trench coat and some aviator sunglasses showed up a the door and asked if he could borrow her. I figured, why not."
- spawnfree, on 11/26/2007, -0/+3great, then you can tick it off the list of emotions you are missing for some reason.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2 No we don't,people just want us to think we live in a Christian nation.
- wbeavis, on 11/26/2007, -0/+2Officially (or publically) they do not have DNA results, so they don't know for certain who the child is. They just picked a name to call her to illicite an emotional response. Much like John Doe and Jane Doe are used.
- sockpuppets, on 11/26/2007, -1/+3It's probably another redneck boyfriend pedophile thing.
- DeadFox1, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Beaten, then mangled, THEN fired.
- mstoneburner, on 11/26/2007, -0/+1If they honestly thought an out-of-state CPS worker had taken the baby, then in their minds she wasn't really "missing," she'd been taken by the state. That's a big if, but they might not have considered her missing.
- skippy17, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Reading - 1
Feminism - 0 - insomniac8400, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1But that still doesn't justify it. They now know her name, they should use her real name. Would you go to a funeral for a friend and call him John Doe just because his body wasn't immediately identified?
- insomniac8400, on 11/26/2007, -0/+1Why do they keep calling the child baby grace when that is not the child's name?
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -1/+2by not reporting it
- DannySpace, on 11/26/2007, -0/+1Did anyone else have trouble reading this story with all those holes in it?
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -2/+3you are not mad about the child, you are mad about what site got linked
- NYCTulanian, on 11/26/2007, -1/+1because we live in a christian nation
- AutoBlazerGirl, on 12/04/2007, -0/+0If the mother be proved guilty on this crime...I don't know what kind of punishment she deserves. Death penalty won't be enough...I think human torture like killing her slowly in the boiling water...
- inactive, on 11/26/2007, -21/+21That is horrible! Many infertile women out there are paying tens of thousands of dollars to have a baby, and these people throw theirs away.
- str3ama, on 11/26/2007, -2/+2I think we can all agree that the parents are messed up, but for those that read this - watch how much media attention this incident gets in comparison to more dire and concerning events taking place like the still flat-lining dollar, or the sudden spike in oil prices, larger deficits, increased unemployment and relocation of factories/work.
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -9/+8Sigh - use is popular among douche bags
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -4/+3if anything is bothering him more, its what site got linked. im sure thats the first thing that came to his mind when opening it
- mayhemchaos, on 11/26/2007, -5/+3nice, my city hit Digg! now where not just known for cowboys and NASA - I'm so gonna get dugg down :(
- ostracize, on 11/26/2007, -6/+2"A man and woman who never reported her toddler"
Shouldn't that be *THEIR* toddler - insomniac8400, on 11/26/2007, -7/+2So.
- itchcity, on 11/26/2007, -6/+1I cant wait to turn on the TV and watch all the close up shots of crying people
- objectcode, on 11/26/2007, -6/+1until you have your first child
- DannySpace, on 11/26/2007, -8/+2So, you'd rather read the same exact "word for word" story, however, on a page that you prefer because it doesn't suck? You Sir are an A-Hole.
- cawfee, on 11/26/2007, -8/+1I don't know why, but the way you wrote that made me giggle.
- hobbers, on 11/26/2007, -8/+1Why? Is it a crime to not report a missing child?
- str3ama, on 11/26/2007, -13/+3Wow you actually care?

What is Digg?
